This is pretty big and serious

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says it will pull back all staff responding to calls for services within the City of Portland, citing “unnecessary personal and professional risk”.
...
“As sheriff, your safety and the safety of the Clackamas County residents remain my top priorities,” his email reads. “Our work is dangerous enough without adding unnecessary risk when responding to calls for services in the city of Portland.”
Sounds like "The Portland PD and city government won't back us up, and we're sick of it.  Screw 'em."

Vancouver police have said they are considering doing the same as well.

I would bet that watching Portland PD stand around while antifa clowns take over streets and attack people, and the mayor approving, has a lot to do with this.

It should be noted for the non-locals that Portland in not in Clackamas County. This isn't a case of not serving/assisting a city within county boundaries.

Portland is in Multnomah County, with Clackamas being it's neighbor to the east and Vancouver being a city in Clark County in the neighboring State of Washington to the North.

Thus endeth the geo-political lesson for today. ;-)

Since Clackamas County is away from Portland (Portland is in Multnomah County), and the Vancouver PD is across the river in another state, the only time they would assist PPB (Portland Police Bureau) is in an extraordinary situation, like a riot or a large demonstration. So this is more than just a little spat.
My schadenfreude is only tempered by the fact that I have family in Portland.

Oregon has been Californicated. Kudos for the Constitutional sheriff.

Of course, if one of said antifa started to break into teddy wheeler/dealer's house, he'd call the cops right now, not considering it would take 3 to 7 minutes for a response. oops.
