I want you to savor the full stupidity of two parts of this:
The warrant was for a man named Bradly Neal Simpson, who is wanted for an expired vehicle registration.
Really? You sent out officers to arrest someone FOR AN EXPIRED TAG?
The address on the warrant is in Cedar Park, not Liberty Hill where
the Simmons have lived for nine years. However, Leander Police say their
database shows Simpson’s last known address as the same one where the
Simmons live.
And of COURSE that excuses GOING TO THE WRONG EFFING TOWN to serve the warrant? Really?
And to really put the cherry on the parfait,
The Simmons say not only was it a close call for their dog, Vinny, but
it was also a close call for their 6-year old terminally ill grandchild
playing just around the corner.
To sum up: they go not just to the wrong address, but to the WRONG TOWN(and wouldn't that open them up to a really nasty lawsuit?), shoot a dog that's not actually a threat, and put a kid in danger...
Lawdog, you need to give these people lessons in "Brain: Use Of".

Sounds like an open and shut payday under the 4th Amendment. You trespassed on property without any proper reason -- and out of your jurisdiction, to boot.
Pay. Pay lots, pay it now, and hope the family isn't that vindictive.
Were the coppers all ninja'd up, too?
I'd expect it; I mean, expired tags, he's only one baby step away from mass murder and theft on a scale not seen since the early Bond films.
