There is just so damned much we don't know. Some things may not even know to ask the question yet.

Pretty hard to tell if they have any chance of being right from this distance, but there is some very strange anomalies in some of the sites.
It's as good as any other hypothesis. Thor Heyerdahl sailed on a balsa wood boat to show Polynesians came from South America, so why not ocean travel? -lg
