Among the interesting things in this:

When you leave Cuba for the first time, you discover many things that you had been blind to,” said Yaili Jiménez Gutierrez, one of the doctors who filed suit. “There comes a time when you get tired of being a slave.”

But they ARE agents of the state. They are communists. Their Dr education was bought for them by the state. Their clothing food and shelter came from the state. They own NOTHING for themselves. They also don't have a choice. Communists don't have those either.

That's what communism is. If Brazil declares contracts with the communist Cuba to be void, then the doctors have to go home and no more doctors replace them. That's what "the deal's off" looks like.
