As further proof of people stupid enough to do ANYTHING

as long as it's fashionable,
Specifically: One beach-oriented Barcelona nightclub, the Baja Beach Club, is using the implants to free customers of the burdens of having to carry their purses or wallets. Makes sense: When you're spending the day in a bikini and flip-flops, where do you keep your ID? Instead, the bouncer just scans your arm with an RFID reader, and you're in. And since you can't carry a credit card or cash either, the implants do double duty: You can pay for drinks with a quick scan of the chip. Chipped patrons also gain access to VIP areas of the club.
To borrow a way of putting it,
No. Way. In. Hell.

It'll be compulsory in about 15 years. First we chip the pets, because after all, they can't go up to a policeman and say they are lost, then we're doing this at resorts, to show that the whole idea is harmless, then we'll chip our Dementia and Alzheimer's patients in case they get out and can't be found, then it will be all patients at hospitals, since the chip can't be lost like the wrist band can, then it will be voluntary, to get you through the airport faster, or into sports arenas, then for credit card purchases, then general identification, then it will be compulsory since it works so well. . .
Meet your transportation. It's called a handbasket. You don't get to decide where you're going.
