Well, this is a pain in the ass

I need to pull the flywheel on the Honda engine so I can change the cam chain and tensioner/guide.  Problem: everything I can find shows a puller for a flywheel threaded on the inside of the shaft hole, and this
is threaded on the outside.  Which no tool catalog at any bike shop shows as correct for this year/model.

Don't you love it when you find out what you have isn't what the books show?

Had an '87 Dodge Colt Vista like that. On any given repair it was even money as to whether '87 parts would fit, or '88. Good car otherwise.

Does the serial number on the engine match with the bike?
Things do get swapped around.

Sometimes the hundred dollar bill option of bringing it in to a dealer and having them pull the flywheel is the only way.

Your bike didn't read that book.

Engine seems to match; apparently Honda changed something, on some production.

No, the bastard did not. But I think I found a puller that will work.
