Two things from No Lawyers

First, a new gun blog:
Tired of false promises of thoughtful reflection about the issue of guns and gun violence?

Tired of the misperceptions and the culture of gun violence in America?

Tired of misrepresentation of facts and the censuring of posts that don’t support a given agenda?

Then it’s time for some Uncommon Gunsense.

Comments here will be unmoderated, post what you can’t get posted on other blogs

S.34 is doomed right off the bat.

You can't deny an enumerated right because of "suspicion"; that's a plain violation of due process.

I suppose Sen. Lautenberg might have never heard of the 14th Amendment, but I can assure him that the Supreme Court has.

(Even the so-called "no-fly list" for the non-enumerated right of travel doesn't stop people on it from flying; it just gets them extra scrutiny.

Which is the only reason it survives, legally.)

"large capacity ammunition feeding devices"

If Leviathan-loving Lautenberg has any intention of his beautiful totalitarian laws holding up in court, he'd better carefully define this term, as it can include not only his favorite bogeyman, the dreaded Hi-cap magazine, but also the spee-d-loader, a collection of tubes that allow a tube magazine 22 rifle to be (relatively) quickly reloaded, and the clip-loading device featured in last summer or fall's edition of the Garand Collector's Association Journal, which allows boxes of 20 rounds to be automatically clipped into clips of 8 with merely a turn of the crank.
Hell, that also covers a Dillon progressive press.
Frank "overbroad, overreaching" Lautenberg squeezes out another constitutional winner.
