$120,000 for a mechanic?
Downside: you have to be able to read, write and do basic math. Which means so many schools out there are screwing the kids they're supposed to be teaching.*
*And no, being good a pronouns isn't worth shit. In more ways than one.

Just watch some of KeroNgb on YouTube. And you will see just how uneducated (stupid) some college kids are. It’s no wonder finding actually educated people can be hard.

In Bowling Green KY the ford dealership has jobs at $25-35, no where near $120,000. Most jobs require you to have your own tools to start working.
Been there , done that, got loads of tShirts. 120K sounds great until you realize the unfathomable depth of the idiots you have to deal with on all sides of the equation. Almost half our time is spent repairing broken problems . The rest is educating the user on why doing it that way will cost extra because they will break it again. FYI the manufacturer warranty does not cover the loose wing nut found between the driver seat and the steering wheel.
The Friends Against Aviation (FAA) regs require "the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language..." (14 CFR 65.17(a)(2)) in order to be eligible for a mechanic's certificate. An awful lot of places get around this by hiring uncertificated "mechanic's assistants" whose work must be directly supervised by, approved and then certified by a certificated mechanic. After 25 years in the civilian aviation maintenance world as one of those certificated mechanics, let me tell you how screwed up that system is. BTW... the cockpit conversation usually goes : Positive rate..Gear up..Autopilot engage... So the guy flying the bus you're sitting in is the last guy to work on the autopilot system. Sleep tight tonight...your mechanics are awake.
