Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) tells 7News Reporter Nick Minock that they are launching an investigation into claims that school staff arranged abortions for students and didn’t tell their parents.

This story has blown up on social media -- a report that says school officials at Fairfax County’s Centerville High School arranged and bankrolled abortions for girls without so much as a phone to their parents back in 2021.

The report says one of the two girls involved was 17 years old.
They're 'launching an investigation', which the past says means "We'll cover this up and make it go away as fast as we can."  Which means there needs to be a criminal investigation by people they can't shut up.

Well, Virginia?

A parliamentary speech made by Conservative MP Katie Lam, highlighting the horrors of grooming gang abuse and condemning the Government’s delay in launching local inquiries scandal, was taken out of the public conversation. Social media posts expressing support for single-sex spaces as essential to the safety of biological women were removed from the feeds of UK users of X.
Videos of a public demonstration raising concerns over the government’s handling of illegal channel crossings were made inaccessible. When concerned citizens, civil liberties groups, legal experts and others warned that the Act would be used to censor lawful speech and suppress dissent . . . ministers in successive Conservative governments insisted it was all about keeping children safe. They brushed aside warnings, framing every objection as a threat to child welfare and smearing defenders of free expression as if they were complicit in harm.

Now, just days into the Online Safety Act’s censorious powers coming into force, it’s clear our warnings were justified: legal speech is being suppressed for people of all ages.

We are deeply concerned that the Online Safety Act has handed the Government powers that belong in a dictatorship, not a democracy.

Christopher Joyce is absolutely right. All this is dictatorship, not democracy.

Take the blocking of footage of police actions against protesters. It becomes much easier for the police to get away with criminal acts themselves, like the police being the ones who instigate violence, or like the police selectively using very different tactics against different groups of protesters. In Essex, where I live, the police escorted in hard-left activist protesters and then denied they had done so. Only footage on social media proved that they were lying. Block citizens from sharing truth, and you block truth altogether.

As bad as the Online Safety Act is, it’s not the thing that creates absolute tyranny. The Crime and Policing Bill is the thing that creates absolute tyranny.

Instapundit had a piece the other day on information getting out no matter what the .gov and cops do, and it just might get nasty.   Probably.  At some point the cops are going to show up and act like the sorry excuses for peace officers they've become, and are going to be told "No", and they're going to lose it and do something they'll REALLY want to cover up, and it won't work.  Could say 'next step after the current start of the end'.

I just looked at the Daily Mail site, not one damned word about protests and such, or the actions and results of these new laws, which means they're being good little poodles.  We'll see if it lasts.

Spencer told police he’d been awakened by his dog barking, went to his daughter’s room to check on her and saw she was missing. He said he suspected she was with Fosler, 67, who had been arrested in July and charged with 43 counts, including sexual assault of a minor and internet stalking of a child, related to Fosler’s pursuit of Spencer’s then-13-year-old daughter.

The arrest affidavit for Spencer says he went to look for his daughter and Fosler after calling 911 the first time. The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office contacted Cabot police to ask them to check a specific address. Prior to hearing back from Cabot police, however, 911 dispatch got a second call from Spencer, who said he had located the “man who kidnapped his daughter” and his daughter, but that Fosler was “dead on the side of the road” and that “he had no choice.”

With ‘allies’ like Keir Starmer, who needs enemies? Today the PM said Britain will recognise Palestine unless Israel agrees to a ceasefire in Gaza. This, truly, is a new low for this government. It is moral blackmail masquerading as diplomacy. It is a barely veiled threat against a supposed ally. Starmer is essentially telling Israel that unless it lays down its arms, Britain will reward its enemies. This will go down in history as one of the most scandalous betrayals of a ‘friend’ of modern times.
Why anyone would be surprised, I don't know; after all, he's betrayed his own country in order to try to buy favor from the same/same kind of people who committed all those rapes and murders on October 7th.  Why would him and his party betraying another people be a shock?

Someone who'd love to make all the questions about rape gangs in Britain go away, anyone amazed he'd like to do the same and pay off the rapists in the Mid-East?

but with it this hot they're also saying 'limit outside activities'.  I should check on a gym for days have bad weather, but dammit, they're crowded and LOUD.  And I don't have room for weights and such, so fit in stuff can do outdoors and a couple of other things.

B: This also makes it hard to do outdoor shooting; area I go to is nice, but in this weather it's no cooler than anywhere else, and the humidity is a bit higher.
