It has come to that first evening of the week

in which we enjoy some representations of the female form.

Oh Lord, the stupid... it actually hurts

And a second dose

Hey, if I had to suffer through those, the least you can do is accompany me

Why yes, Emmanuel is

an asshole.

I might as well get this on the verdict out of the way, from a law professor,

and he's not the only one:
"I think, as I said before, that this case was legally unfounded. When they were reading those guilty verdicts, the one thing that we didn't know is really what he was found guilty of. Because if you remember, the judge allowed the jury to find guilt on any one of the three secondary crimes," Turley said. That meant the jury didn't have to determine exactly what crime was committed.

"We weren't told whether the jury found any one of those crimes, whether they found all three of those crimes. I'm not too sure we will know that. That's one of the many issues that I think presents reversible problems in this case," Turley assessed.   (bold mine)
Which is a polite way of saying  "This is such bullshit, it's amazing."

The good: the NRA vs. Vullo case was a real win for the good guys

The Court explained that the First Amendment prohibits government officials from relying on the "threat of invoking legal sanctions and other means of coercion … to achieve the suppression" of disfavored speech. Although the commission lacked the "power to apply formal legal sanctions," the distributor "reasonably understood" the commission to threaten adverse action, and thus the distributor's "compliance with the [c]ommission's directives was not voluntary." To reach this conclusion, the Court considered things like: the commission's coordination with law enforcement and its authority to refer matters for prosecution; the notices themselves, which were "phrased virtually as orders" containing "thinly veiled threats to institute criminal proceedings" if the distributor did not come around; and the distributor's reaction to the notices and followup visits….

Ultimately, Bantam Books stands for the principle that a government official cannot do indirectly what she is barred from doing directly: A government official cannot coerce a private party to punish or suppress disfavored speech on her behalf….

And all 9 handed Vullo her ass.
With, of course, Jackson saying "But the .gov should have some lattitude here, because reasons."  Still a solid victory.  All it needs now is suing Vullo for her actions.

Yes, the left got what it wanted,

convictions for Trump.  That are sure to be reversed, when the crap the prosecutors and judge pulled are appealed.  But they don't care.

They also don't care about the damage they did to the justice system, particularly in New effing York.

As someone said a few years ago, they'll start caring when someone uses their new rules against them.  But it'll be too late then.

A favorite gun

Of all the revolvers I've fired over the years, this has got to be my #1

Smith & Wesson K38 Target Masterpiece(pic grabbed off the net).  This is a K-frame revolver with a 6" barrel and target sights.  A bit of history:
Smith & Wesson inaugurated the K-Masterpiece series just after World War II. First introduced was the K-22 in December 1946, with the K-32 and K-38 following by the summer of 1947. They were all of a type, with 6″ barrels, patridge style front sights and fully adjustable rear sights. Grips were checkered walnut which the company termed Magna style. They were double actions, although some K38’s were built with single action only mechanisms.*
I once read that this happened when S&W decided 'to make the world's most accurate target pistols', at which they pretty much succeeded.

The one I had was well-used, by a guy who'd been on a LE agency match team.  It had the oversize grips, and he'd had someone who really knew their stuff do a bit more polishing and tuning on the action, and oh my did HE succeed; between his work and years of use it was the slickest action I'd ever worked.  And very accurate, I referred to it as "It even makes me shoot well!"

It was the only pistol I've ever been able to fire a 50-shot group(postal match) tight enough that you couldn't count most of them because the group was one big hole.  A damn fine revolver.

The K22 I've fired wasn't as slick as this, but it wouldn't take much to get it there, the K32 I had the joyous chance to fire was pretty close, and all were more accurate than I.  The only problem with any of the three was the K22 match chambers got dirty fairly quickly and might need a brush and swab to clear them.

You can find a good- or even fine- shooter in .38 or .22 fairly easily, they made a lot of them; if you want the .32, be prepared to spend time and money, because they made a lot fewer of them, and most were shot little, if any, and command premium prices.**  Used?  At the big gun show in Tulsa there are always a couple of big S&W collectors, and I asked one of them if they ever saw any used K32s: "every once in a while you'll hear about one, but they disappear from the market fast."  I suspect they've been handed down in families, and are only sold out of real need for money, or landing in the hands of a relative who doesn't care about it.

So if you want a revolver for target and/or small game, I can highly recommend any of these; the K22 will be cheaper to feed, the .38 has more power, and if you did find a K32 a quick search shows you'll find it as or a little more expensive than the .38 Special.

**The time I asked the other collector that, "I've got a used one there" and pointed to a box on the table.  The thing looked brand new, and I asked "How is this 'used'?"
"The other side has a few speckles in the bluing."
Ponder on that.  "And how much?"
"$4000."
That's what I mean by 'premium'

Holy crap... at what point do we start taking corrupt bureaucrats and pharma execs

and idiot judges and just making wind chimes out of them?
From 2000, increasing mumps outbreaks amongst the fully vaccinated and boosted prompted the FDA to instruct Merck to prove the 95 per cent protection claim, otherwise they would lose their licence. Merck re-ran the numbers and fell way short. They designed a test to measure effectiveness – Protocol 7 – that included rabbit’s blood in the hope it would falsely enhance the sensitivity of it. They also swapped the wild measles virus for the weakened vaccine strain in the test. Nothing improved the figures enough and they stood to lose millions in revenue. Investigating the alleged fraud, Dr Andy Wakefield said: ‘At that stage they simply decided to cross out the numbers and change them for numbers that gave them the result they wanted.’

Despite overwhelming evidence, first highlighted in 2010 by Merck whistleblowers, virologists Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, last July Judge Chad F Kenney ruled in favour of the drugs giant who claimed that doctoring the data did not matter because the US government knew and continued to buy their MMR jab anyway. The government’s defence was that they had no choice as they had to protect children against measles. Merck hold the US monopoly for MMR, and measles was targeted for global eradication using the vaccine. An appeal is expected to be heard next month.

And what does this corruption mean for the Wuhan vaccines?

Because most of our media are script-reading Democrat operatives

with bylines:
In other words? By this point, there were estimates aplenty in the media that there would be anywhere from almost a half million to 1.5 million to 2.2 million dead Americans. But mysteriously in all the stories about the 100,000 dead Americans there is no mention - zero - of earlier media predictions that there would be ten or twenty times that number of deaths.

Not to mention that the media seems reluctant to focus on just why the number is up to 100,000 in the first place. There is a reason, as discussed over at The American Spectator by my colleague the historian Paul Kengor. Paul lives, as do I, in Pennsylvania. And here is his headline: "Pennsylvania’s Nursing Home COVID-19 Scandal."
Yeah, Gov. Howler in New effing York wasn't the only place murdering people in nursing homes.
...
In other words? The 100,000 death toll number would have been less, possibly much less, if the governors of those three states alone had not insisted on sending Covid patients to nursing homes. As Paul Kengor noted, in Pennsylvania alone 70 percent of Pennsylvania’s 5400 fatalities were in nursing homes.

But no word on this in the media.

I'm attempting to catch up on some things,

one of them being all the brass that needs processing, and got a few rounds loaded.  But there's a lot more to do.

However, there are things like mowing, and cleaning that are also 'way behind.  And that bitch Arthritis has a say in some things.

If you never hear from me again, remember I tried.

That they lied about the vaccines isn't even news anymore, but

just what the lied about sometimes is.
IN 2021 when the Office for National Statistics (ONS) started releasing its vaccine by mortality status reports we revealed that there were large spikes in the non-covid death rates in the ‘unvaccinated’. These spikes in mortality coincided with the first main vaccine rollout and did so for each age group (see this report, for example).
https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/we-were-right-the-uk-ons-now-admit-that-deaths-in-the-vaccinated-were-categorised-as-unvaccinated-in-2021/

And some of the side-effects, well, they really lied about.
New research conducted by Flinders University and global specialists is deepening our knowledge of vaccine-induced immune thrombocytopenia and thrombosis (VITT). During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, VITT was recognized as a new condition linked to adenovirus vector-based vaccines, particularly the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

VITT was found to be caused by an unusually dangerous blood autoantibody directed against a protein termed platelet factor 4 (or PF4). In separate research in 2023, researchers from Canada, North America, Germany, and Italy described a virtually identical disorder with the same PF4 antibody that was fatal in some cases after natural adenovirus (common cold) infection.

There really are a lot of people involved in this who belong in jail.  At the least.

It should be asked why this museum hires so many racists,

when they could be hiring people who-
Oh, it's Seattle.

At this point the wailing about 'the poor people of Gaza'

just pisses me off.  They voted for Hamas, they've supported it, they've helped it, and when the Israelis really say "Enough!" and mean it, they scream and cry and demand protection.

While they're raping, torturing, and murdering hostages.  Hell with 'em.

It's easier to link to Insty than do them individually.  And there need to be hearings with everyone involved in this clusterfuck put under oath.

And it would be nice, for a change, if those who lie are charged for it.

Gee, maybe if the border wasn't open, this would be happening to much

Speaking of the enemy,
A state Democratic lawmaker allegedly warned members of the University of Pennsylvania’s anti-Israel encampment of a “credible threat” for a police sweep.

According to group chat communications exclusively obtained by the Washington Examiner, Pennsylvania House Rep. Rick Krajewski “relayed” the warning with a time frame of within the “next 24 hours.” The warning allowed the group to jettison equipment before the encampment was torn down by law enforcement, according to the students.

Yes, Blogger is still bloggered

I can't color lines unless I change the color and then type out the whole thing, and I can't embed a link.  I don't know what genius there did something, but they should get rid of them.

A new set of Twitter files, these on the CIA

But now, a new Twitter Files investigation reveals that a member of the Board of Trustees of the CIA’s mission-driven venture capital firm and ostensibly “former” IC and CIA analysts were involved in a 2021-2022 effort to take over Twitter’s content management system.

The effort also involved:
— a long-time IC contractor and senior Department of Defense R&D official who spent years developing technologies to detect whistleblowers (“insider threats”) like Edward Snowden and Wikileaks’ leakers;

— the proposed head of the DHS’ aborted Disinformation Governance Board, Nina Jankowicz, who aided US military and NATO “hybrid war” operations in Europe;

— Jim Baker, who, as FBI General Counsel, helped start the Russiagate hoax, and, as Twitter’s Deputy General Counsel, urged Twitter executives to censor The New York Post story about Hunter Biden.

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1793666016704356735.html

Oh yeah, there's more, including that Jankowicz who was going to run the .gov 'disinformation' organization until people found out about it.  Who, among other things, said
Jankowicz points to Europe as the model for regulating speech. “Germany’s NetzDG law requires social media companies and other content hosts to remove ‘obviously illegal’ speech within twenty-four hours,” she says, “or face a fine of up to $50 million.”

By contrast, in the US, she laments, “Congress has yet to pass a bill imposing even the most basic of regulations related to social media and election advertising.”

The purpose of her book is to sound the alarm and offer a vision.

Her vision being a nightmare for free speech.
