I guess the knowledge that Israel was going to not stop this time until they're all dead, and I suspect there was something along the lines of "We have some very good people here who train to deal with people like you, and if you lie to us or otherwise eff this up, they will take care of you" from Trump, plus the piles of their dead bodies and missing treasure, finally gave enough of them the idea that "It's time to quit."
Not all, of course, there are lots of True Believers in that part of the world who will still be looking for ways to get away with killing Jews; but I think there will be a lot more people willing to pass word along because they're sick of getting their world stomped because of the assholes.
We will see how this goes

It is my understanding that any agreement of a muslim with a nonmuslim HAS to be broken by the muslim before 10 years. This is related to the behavior of their prophet with his agreement made with a city during his day. He broke it at the 10 year mark and all his followers have followed suit.
In other words, a muslim is good for an agreement in only a very short term and never longer than 10 years - ever.

nah, hamas is using the lull to slaughter all of their internal foes and suspected spies, which is everybody not hamas.
Considering less than 10% of the hostages originally seized have survived its like they no longer had the political leverage they originally did.
