Being nice to the gimmiegrunt/terrorists is how they landed in the problems they have. Being even nicer hoping they wont attack is futile. Being nice to the people that allowed it all to happen is also futile.
Just remember, one of the dead was an innocent, shot by the police through the synagogue door as they failed to observe the rule 'Always know what lies behind your target'. Small consolation to his family that he died protecting the innocent.
Apparently, one of the two Jews killed was inside, holding the doors shut, and was shot and killed by police who missed the terrorist. Terrorist didn't have a gun. John in Indy
