All this "You commoners can't be allowed to read this! It's

dangerous!" crap just makes us more certain that 'dangerous' means "Dangerous to the Preferred Narrative."

"I feel like Brazilian tonight,

what about you guys?"

Damn, when these people are bought, they STAY bought

When an alleged Chinese spy balloon traversed the United States in February, some U.S. officials were confident the incursion would galvanize the U.S. bureaucracy to push forward a slate of actions to counter China.

Instead, the U.S. State Department held back human rights-related sanctions, export controls and other sensitive actions to try to limit damage to the U.S.-China relationship, according to four sources with direct knowledge of U.S. policy, as well as internal emails seen by Reuters.
...
The sources said many measures have yet to be revived. The decision to postpone export licensing rules for telecom equipment maker Huawei and sanctions against Chinese officials for abuses of Uyghurs, has damaged morale at China House, they said.

So, instead of actually doing something about it, they basically paid the PRC for doing a bad thing.  To 'avoid damaging the relationship' with people who want us all dead or enslaved.

What would be our version of the Tarpeian Rock to throw these people off of?

Chicken, weasel, one each:

This should put the latter into the formers house.
The US government’s prohibition on 18-to-20-year-olds buying handguns violates the Second Amendment and “cannot stand,” a federal judge in Virginia ruled.

The right to purchase a handgun falls under right to “keep and bear arms,” and young adults are among “the people” protected by the Second Amendment, Judge Robert E. Payne of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia at Richmond said Wednesday.

Now the important thing: I need to find out if this is a real patch, and if it is, I must have one.

If knives in the hands of bad guys or insane people don't scare you,

what's wrong with you?  The actual 'all goes to hell' starts at 3 minutes in.

Multiple hits, he goes down but still has the knife, then gets up with it...
And it all happens fast

From the EffingBI: "We received your subpoena, but we're going to delay

and cause problems as long as possible, and use 'confidentiality' as our excuse.  You actually expect US to respond to you?"

Either cleaned out and started over, or done away with, this agency has to be dealt with.

Kim Gardner was a Soros prosecutor, and is one of the few

facing real consequences for the lives she's screwed up.
Riley, 21, was out on bond for a 2020 robbery charge that was dismissed and re-filed last year. A spokesperson for Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner defended the office on Tuesday, saying the case was dropped and re-filed because the victim died before trial, throwing a wrench into prosecution. The spokesperson also said the final ruling on whether a suspect’s bond is revoked is in the hands of a judge.

But a judge’s order from the day the case was dropped shows the victim was alive and present for the hearing, and prosecutors weren’t ready to proceed. And court officials said they never knew Riley violated his bond, because prosecutors never filed a motion to revoke it.

Bold mine.
This is the slimy little bastard who'd violated his situation multiple times, with Gardner & Co. doing nothing, until he ran over someone and cost them their legs.

And she's still not meeting court orders.

Prison is where she belongs.

And now, a bit on the range

The big try was some subsonics at longer distance than 30 yards.  The first being the .300 Blackout using the 200-grain Berry's plated bullets.  Which proved to be quite nice.

50 yards
The Strike Eagle scope has a central dot with several stadia lines below it.  This was with the dot on the center aiming point.  Yes, I should have tried the first line, but I didn't.  Then moved to 100 yards

For the moment ignore the three at the bottom right.  The one dead center at the bottom was the first shot, using the first stadia line to aim.  Moved to the second line, which moved the group up to about 3" below the POA, with a decent group.  Especially considering the wind.

There was no 200 yard target, because I wasn't up to another 400 yard walk out and back, but there is a gong, about 12" diameter.  Using the bottom line, it was a bit low.  Below that there's a thick vertical post with a sharp point, put the bottom of the gong on that point and I could ring it every time.  Which, for a practice load, is very much good enough.

The other test was of a 7.62x39 subsonic, using the same Berry's bullet.  That idea came from a new load from Hornady using a 255-grain Sub-X bullet.  No, I didn't slug the bore, just put one of the Berry's into the muzzle, and it looked like it'd fit decently until I can find a .310 bullet suitable.
Note: started down this path when a coworker found a company that makes subsonics in this cartridge with, I believe, a 225-grain bullet and he bought some.  And managed to get some .310 bullets in that weight, and worked up a load using CFEBLK powder.  I started with that* and, this being lighter, started with just over a grain less powder.  Which worked, producing a nice group at 25 yards that hit 19" below point of aim.  And very dirty cases from the pressure being low enough that the brass wasn't expanding enough to seal well.

This led to some further test loads, as follows after the
DISCLAIMER:
I tried these, with a definite amount of "Am I going to screw up this rifle?" as I went.  If you try this, you're on your own.
That said, I started with 12.0 grains, then 12.2, 12.4, and 12.5.  The last gave the best performance, the shots hitting about 2" low and a bit right at 25 yards, but still fairly dirty cases.  That last came out to ~950fps.

I did manage to find a box of the Hornady Sub-X loads to try, and at 25 yards they were a bit low & right, and three shots went into one slightly large hole.  I was impressed.

At 50 yards,
That vertical string was aimed at the upper right aiming point.  The holes just even with the bottom of the center target came from three of the Hornady.

Remember that group up above I said not to worry about for  now?  That was three of the Hornady loads, holding on the center target

Considering how hard these are to get, and expensive, but mostly because no paper at 200, I didn't try them at that range.

So, for  7.62x39 I'll wait for a more suitable diameter bullet before I load any more of these for it.  the .300 Blackout, I'll definitely load more of those.

* I could find lots of "Well, I tried this bullet and powder" stuff at various forums, but none with 200 or heavier bullets, so guessing game began.

Why am I not surprised?

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) alleged Tuesday the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) illegally overpaid millions to agents in non-law enforcement roles
Every other agency seems to be involved in various things, what's one more for this one?

Well, Ireland decided to go with the EU telling them what to do, so this next revolution around the toilet bowl isn't exactly unexpected.

"You have offended our deities, and if you don't sign a form saying we're not at fault we'll start proceedings to throw you out!  What?  What for?  None of your business!"
A lot of colleges need to be informed by the taxpayers that they're no longer putting out the money for mini-Stalins like this to play their games.

I actually made it to the outdoor range today,

first time in months.
First, I need to modify the mount for my spotting scope so it's not so high.

Second, I need to get back in shape(already knew, but...); first time I've walked that much in a long time, and I could feel it, made me glad I didn't bring anything else to shoot.

Yes, there'll be a range report.  After the cleaning and resting are done.

The people wanting to demand 'Electric Everything!' are idiots

Including the one in the White House.
Today, a clean diesel truck can spend 15 minutes fueling anywhere in the country and then travel about 1,200 miles before fueling again. In contrast, today’s long-haul battery electric trucks have a range of about 150-330 miles and can take up to 10 hours to charge.
...
A new, clean-diesel long-haul tractor typically costs in the range of $180,000 to $200,000. A comparable battery-electric tractor costs upwards of $480,000. That $300,000 upcharge is cost-prohibitive for the overwhelming majority of motor carriers. More than 95% of trucking companies are small businesses operating ten trucks or fewer.
...
Weight factors are another inconvenient truth. Battery-electric trucks, which run on two approx. 8,000-lb. lithium iron batteries, are far heavier than their clean-diesel counterparts. Since trucks are subject to strict federal weight limits, mandating battery-electric will decrease the payload of each truck, putting more trucks on the road and increasing both traffic congestion and tailpipe emissions.

Now, I want those idiots to attempt to understand just how stupid their demand to make 'all military vehicles electric by 2030' truly is.

They've identified the murderer in Allen, Updated

and, since he doesn't seem to fit the Preferred Narrative, the usual suspects are trying to turn him into not only a White Hispanic, but a White Supremacist as well.

Chances he's an illegal alien: I'd guess high.
Chances the tattoo isn't white supremacist, but cartel connected: I'd also guess high.
Right now, with all the other crap at our wide-open border, we have two multiple-murder crimes: one committed by a illegal with multiple deportations behind him who murdered nearly a whole family of illegals, and now this one.  They make it very difficult for the Democrat operatives with bylines to insist the border is actually under control, so expect extra effort to try to make them go away, except as they think they can use it to call for more gun laws.

I had wondered when there was going to be some awful crime committed that pissed off enough people to start saying "We're not letting this be buried, you bastards"; looks like we've got two of them.

Update: I'm told the tattoo may actually be a business logo.

I'm still tired and stressed, but that's no reason

to not get the 7th eve study materials up.

At least not yet.

I'd say Paul's right, and

this mess is a real threat.
Paul has gone against many of his colleagues in his party, warning on the Senate floor in March, “I think we should beware of those who use fear to coax Americans to relinquish our liberties.”

“Every accusation of data gathering that has been attributed to TikTok could also be attributed to domestic big tech companies,” he said.

Section 3 of the act would provide the authorities legal cover to pursue anyone deemed to have “undermine[d] democratic processes” in favor of the “strategic objectives of a foreign adversary.”

Paul said the act gives the executive branch wide ranging powers that would basically provide “limitless authority for the president to ban speech.”

Tired and stressed, so this eve's post

is done

A short clearing

because I'm tired, stressed, and halfway wish someone would drive through the house and over me.

Ran across this labeled Dejah Thoris, and thought 'She's worth a battle on Mars'
