Right now I have little interest in the news, so instead an update

on the knees.

Yes, plural.  According to the surgeon they don't consider a knee replacement to be fully healed for one year.  So when the cold fronts started going back & forth, especially the ones bringing damp with them, they both starting hurting.  Like a bastard at times.

On the most recent surgery, it really is improving.  I've got a lot more range of motion, and haven't needed help to sleep at night for a while(during the battles of the fronts, a few times should probably have availed myself of it).  Still a lot of aching depending on what I'm doing, or attempting to do.  And the height & design of chairs can make the difference between getting up  with a little ache and a quiet(when others are around) 'Sunuvabitch!' as I stand up.  And just standing, without walking, for a while tends to make them stiffen up and get downright painful at times.

Some of you are probably nodding your heads, and for the rest: hope there are better solutions before you get old and/or damaged.

I'm now going to do some of the home PT stuff, which will involve an amount of cursing and moaning after.  Be glad you don't have to listen to it.

About that stressful family situation,

it did get somewhat resolved, so that's a somewhat lower stress level.

Now if I could get my brain to shut off at night and let me sleep...

Seems like we've seen this script before

From "There is no problem with trans people wanting to detransition, it's a myth!" to, currently, "It happens, yes, but it's not because of the transition not fixing their problems, it's because of not enough support!"

Oh yeah, that's it.  It's not because "This is not helping me!", it's not "I should have had serious therapy before I started taking drugs and talking about cutting off some of my body parts!", and it could never be "I was rushed into this."

I agree with what some others have said, at some point there are going to be a lot of 'counselors' and teachers at schools being asked some very pointed questions about their rush to push kids into "You're trans, and you won't be happy until you physically do it!"

Remember all the fads that kids get into?  Hell, remember the 'satanic day-care abuse' stories in the 1980's?  This crap will end just as well for a lot of people, though in this case many will spend the rest of their lives with effed-up bodies.

So it's a new year...

Ok, so a bit of clearing as well

It's a bit early, but due to a stressful family situation,

combined with my brain's inability to shut up for the night, I'm about shot.  Therefore the data is a bit early.  So stay out of the streets with the idiots, and stay out of the too-damned-crowded clubs and such, relax, and spend New Year's Eve checking the data.

Isn't lying under oath a criminal act?

For that alone a bunch of these people should be prosecuted.
A letter from Lawrence Tabak, the National Institutes of Health’s principal deputy director, to Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) confirms that the NIH funded research at the WIV during 2018-2019 that manipulated a bat coronavirus called WIV1. Researchers at the institute grafted spike proteins from other coronaviruses onto WIV1 to see if the modified virus was capable of binding in a mouse that possessed the ACE2 receptors found in humans — the same receptor to which SARS-CoV-2 binds. The modified virus reproduced more rapidly and made infected humanized mice sicker than the unmodified virus.

Starting in 2014, the NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci, funded the New York-based research nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance with annual grants through 2020 for “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.”
And on.
