Yes, with great dedication to the cause I did find time

to gather the photo intelligence on the matter at hand.

My, the racists just can't stop, can they?

Addison Sarter, a former candidate for D.C. city council, will introduce a ballot initiative that would make areas of Washington, DC, into “autonomous regions” where only black Americans would be allowed to live.

So: we have woke college students wanting segregated dorms, and cafeterias, and 'minority only safe spaces'...

Man, it's amazing how many woke leftists have taken George 'Segregation yesterday... segregation tomorrow... segregation forever' Wallace as their idol

Every clown in Austin connected with this bullshit

should be fired.  From a Napoleon would do nicely.

And not only are they wasting a lot of taxpayers money on this garbage, they're terrified of people finding out what's being taught.
Attendees are required to agree to a “contract” stating that attendees must agree to certain conditions before taking the class, including:

Not taking notes
Not to talk about the class outside the class (“Vega rule”)
They must agree that the United States, Texas, Austin and APD are institutionally racist.

"You cannot tell anyone what is in the class!" is, with crap like this, evidence of guilt.  Hang the bastards.

That's a big damned quake

Tsunami warnings were lifted for Alaska and the rest of Pacific after a huge earthquake of 8.2 magnitude struck the seismically active US state in the late hours Wednesday.

This year just continues to be wonderful

Joseph “Dusty” Hill, ZZ Top’s bassist for more than 50 years, has died, the group’s longtime rep confirmed. No cause of death was cited.

Just picking one,

Guy looked at the bike yesterday,

but decided against, so that continues.  Two things about that:
Watching someone else ride it out of sight was almost painful.
Moving it was physically painful; with this back trouble, selling it is definitely the thing to do.  Like it or not.

Few years back a guy I knew couldn't believe I would say bad things about John McCain,

because "He was in the Navy!", etc.  I pointed out that respecting someone for serving in the military did NOT mean they got a pass on shit they did as a politician.

Fast-forward to a bunch of leftists and journalists(yes, I  know I'm repeating myself) howling indignantly because a guy on Fox criticized the head of the Joint Chiefs.  Added to this was some other clown with stars on his shoulder basically saying "He's served 'X' years, how dare you not respect him!"  Mind you, the leftists, as a rule, hate the military, but now they're acting like you said mean things about their kid.

Which brings us to this piece.
He also tweeted at the university where I am a student, Hillsdale College, and told them to “come get your boy” for questioning the military’s quarantine and lockdown policies. General Donahoe, apparently, thinks the private sector is just like the military, where criticism can be stopped, and careers ended, with a mere snap of the fingers. As the thread attracted more attention, one commenter asked the General “how many wars he’d won.” The General responded by accusing the questioner of “shilling for Putin.” When I asked if Putin was the reason America had lost in Afghanistan, the General blocked me.

My interaction with the General serves as a microcosm of the American military’s cultural rot. Here we have a two-star General who spends his days on social media hyping a vaccine for an illness that poses minimal risk to his troops. When pressed on why America can’t win wars and why he embraces policies that treat healthy people like biohazards, his first response is to accuse his critics of treachery and then block them from view.

This is what $693 billion a year buys you: unbridled arrogance from the leaders of a military that can’t win against third world tribesmen armed with small arms and homemade explosives. A significant portion of our military leaders, like General Donahoe, are totally detached from reality. They face no consequences for losing wars or losing troops to preventable suicides. Many of them don’t really command anything at all. They are so ensconced in layers of bureaucrats, staff, operations and logistics shops, briefs, intelligence reports, public affairs officials, and aides that there is usually no danger of the public uncovering their true character, lack of leadership, or empty careers.

And now those in charge are more worried about setting up political commissars to police what the troops think than, say, training to fight.  For the Navy, teaching seamanship to the sailors in general and the officers in particular is far less important than "Your Sailors must not think politically incorrect thoughts."

These people, and this shit, are going to cost a lot of lives when things blow up somewhere.
And when some of the generals and admirals start getting criticized by the media clowns who used to defend them, I wonder if it'll be a shock?

From a few days before the current situation, I think I found the load

for that particular rifle.  This was at 200 yards using a .40-65

Not a fluke, that's the third group with this load that was this tight or very close to it.  Which for me and iron sights...

This is the Lyman Snover 400-grain bullet, cast of 20-1, over a .060" fiber wad(Walter's Wads, I recommend them), 58.0 grains of Olde Eynesford 1.5f black powder, ignited by a Federal Large Rifle Magnum Match primer, all held together by a Starline case(formed from .45-70) of 2.10" length.  Overall length 2.97".  I found that the max length with this bullet is 2.975 by my caliper, at which point the bullet is engaging the rifling, a PITA to chamber, and does not shoot nearly as well as this.

I also may have the long-range load for the .45-70.  Also 200

A couple of things before the specifics.  First, I was getting tired and hungry at this point; the tired because between two specific health matters I've lost some endurance.
Second, I've had this two-group crap happen before, and every time it's been my fault.  In this case it was six rounds total, both the sub-groups are just a bit over 2", if you measure them together the horizontal spread is a bit over 4".

Specifics are the Lyman 535-grain Postell bullet, 20-1*, the same .060" thick wad, 65.0 grains of Goex 2f, Federal Large Rifle Magnum primer, Winchester cases of 2.1".  OAL on this load 2.987" (near as I could keep it).

Couple of things I've found out:
The Olde Eynesford black powder seems to prefer match primers.

With all cases I only resize about the first 3/4" of the case to give enough tension to hold the bullet.  With Starline cases I expand deep enough for the length of bullet that fits inside the case; Winchester cases have thinner walls, and I don't expand them, only bell the case mouth.  Seems to work best that way.

Now I need to try the .45-70 load with the OE 1.5f and see how that works.  And try the .45-70 with a standard match primer; doesn't shoot as well in the .40-65, but with black powder that means nothing as to what another rifle will like.

It just hit me that Dad will never get to try these rifles out.  I'm done.

*I've been using 20-1 for all the bullets used with black powder

It's amazing the amount of stuff that winds up collecting in drawers over time,

because "This might be useful" and "This is funny", and just because it's back in a drawer and you don't think of it.

It's hard to believe how difficult it is to go through all that stuff.  It's just papers and extras and stuff, but...

I thank you all

for the prayers and good wishes.  Hell, I didn't think that many people read my stuff.

It means a lot to me.

Dad had the surgery,

and about a day or so later had to have another, some internal problem.

At this point it was too much insult on top of all else.  He didn't make it.

Let us talk about corruption

in high places.
Throw in that people who'd be screaming bloody murder if this clown was somehow connected to Trump don't care about this.  Of course.

Kodak becomes just another PRC whore.

It's amazing how all a long-respected doctor/researcher has to do to become a leper is say/write something that goes against the Preferred Narrative™.

Good.  Don't pass anything.
It'll save us a fortune and frustrate those corrupt clown enormously.

One more "Do what I say, not what I do!" politician.

"We can't let the public into these meetings, they'd make us feel unsafe!"
Yeah, control freaks really don't like it when people find out what they've got in mind.

Short version: "I know statistics, and this noise about the Wuflu is bullshit."

"Of course we're teaching CRT to your racist kids, but we won't tell you."
And the district either doesn't know what's going on, or is lying.

The back is better,

still an ongoing problem but the days of "OHBLEEPINGEFFING-" and such when I get up seem to be in the past.  The injections and PT have done a lot of good.

Which, today, involved needling.  They take what looks like a acupuncture needle and run it into the painful muscle to make it react to that, which often causes it to release tension.  The needle is thin enough that it's not painful, but when it hit that tight muscle, the throb when it reacted was definitely attention getting.  We'll see how it goes.

In other medical stuff, Dad has been home for a bit, and then today went through surgery to reconnect the intestine.  If it goes well, it means goodbye to the colostomy bag.  Please God.  It's helped keep him alive, at the cost of a fair amount of pain at times and having to empty it every two hours, night and day, and the constant worry of it getting bumped or rubbed and caused to leak.  He'd much rather do without it now.

They finally found someone to mow and trim the yard, which is a huge relief.  Things have gotten better, but some times it's enough to manage my own, driving down and getting that one as well has been difficult.  Especially with all the bloody rain throughout June and the first of July.

And I am selling the bike.  I'll put the money aside, and when(hopefully) I can ride again, I'll find another.  Preferably with a more upright seating position; it was good for years, but the joints are getting a bit picky about that.

Now I can work on getting to the outdoor range again, partly to test some loads and partly because that's how God intended us to shoot.

You may have heard about that LAPD bomb squad truck that didn't contain

like they expected, and there was an investigation why.

Oops.

The bomb technicians — without using a scale, as is allowed by Los Angeles police procedures to avoid additional handling of the unstable devices — estimated the weight of the homemade explosives and a counter-charge to be about 16.5 pounds (7.5 kilograms).

They arrived at 16.5 pounds by estimating that the smaller explosives — there were 280 of them — each weighed about a half an ounce (14 grams) in a standard flash powder measurement. The bomb technicians estimated that the 44 larger explosives — which were about the size of a soda can with a fuse — had about 1.5 ounces (42.5 grams) worth of flash powder.

Federal authorities who weighed the remains after the blast calculated that the weight was actually more than 42 pounds (19 kilograms). The smaller explosives were actually 1.37 ounces (38.9 grams) and the larger ones were about 5 ounces (142 grams).

The detonation chamber's maximum capacity is 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms) for multiple uses or 25 pounds (11 kilograms) for a single use, Moore said. The LAPD has not publicly identified the manufacturer of the detonation chamber, despite repeated requests.

On that last, I'd imagine the company wants nothing to do with a bunch of journalists asking "What can you tell us about how the bomb squad screwed up?  Or is your design defective?"  And LAPD doesn't want to piss off the company that built a trailer that's been used multiple times with no problems.

Bet they'll be a lot more careful about weights from now on.

Have you noticed that the people always bitching that parents aren't involved enough,

now that the parents have found out some of what crap is being taught and are doing something about it, really wish the parents would shut up and go away?

And now, on the 7th day of the week

-especially since it's wet, humid and uncomfortable outside- I did accomplish the feat of getting the stuff put together.

The Department of 'Justice' is anything but,

and needs to be cleaned out.  Probably with a flamethrower to do any good.
Delaware’s U.S. Attorney David Weiss allegedly postponed allowing prosecutors to obtain search warrants and issue grand jury subpoenas last summer, after facing pressure from other officials who feared the investigation’s influence on the 2020 presidential election and now-President Joe Biden’s campaign.

“They advised [him] to avoid taking any actions that could alert the public to the existence of the case in the middle of a presidential election,” reported Politico, one of the many corporate media outlets that brushed off the possibility of any wrongdoing by Hunter despite the discovery of his incriminating laptop.
... When the time came for more formal exploratory measures into Hunter’s dealings, however, Weiss declined to take any drastic actions “that were likely to make the existence of the Hunter Biden probe public” because he feared political scrutiny and giving “many of then-President Donald Trump’s supporters” what they were looking for.

“Concerns about affecting the presidential election loomed large when Weiss entertained arguments about advancing the probe, according to the person involved in the discussions. No matter what he did, the decision was sure to come under scrutiny for signs of politicization,” Politico reported.
Shortly before Election Day, prosecutors and then-Attorney General Bill Barr worked together to keep the investigation from going fully public and decided not to appoint a special investigator for the case.
...
Hunter was quick to hire a defense attorney from legal firm Latham & Watkins in December, just one month before his dad appointed another partner from the same firm, Nicholas McQuaid, to temporarily run the Criminal Division of the Justice Department. Despite his previous work on cases with Hunter’s attorney, it is still unclear if McQuaid signed a waiver or recused himself from overseeing the investigation into Hunter.

Any reason why we should trust ANYTHING that comes from the Do'J'?  Or the EffingBI, or any of the rest of these corrupt asshats?

Ah, the tolerance of other views is just overwhelming

She made the comments while speaking to fellow counter-protesters present during a "Stop CRT rally" outside a Fairfax County school board meeting. Leete is Vice President of Training at the Virginia state PTA and Vice President of Communications for the Fairfax County PTA. She is also First Vice President of the Fairfax County NAACP.

Many people in the crowd cheered and applauded upon hearing Leete's cry of "Let them die!"

Asra Nomani, an education activist who helps run the watchdog group Parents Defending Education, filmed the speech and shared it on her Twitter account.

As you read, you'll also learn that, according to this clown, if you oppose CRT in schools you're anti- well, EVERYTHING.  Somehow.

Ain't it wonderful?

It's Friday, my foot hurts,

and my back is tired.  Both are far better than were, but still problems to deal with.  So I reviewed the data before I posted it, just to distract myself.
