Maybe I missed it, but this ammo did not come from the USS Indianapolis. It belonged to a Marine survivor of that disaster and was of 1943 vintage, but other than that, had no connection to the ship.
I doubt anything of this nature survived or has been recovered from the wreck.

ReplyDeleteI inherited a couple of ammo boxes of steel cased 45 ACP rounds marked ECS 43. I've only shot a few but everyone I tried has fired.
