One of the things lost in my truck maintenance notebook

was when I last replaced the battery.  So when this one started showing signs of incipient death, I wasn't sure how old it was, and no receipt.

Took it in, lady checks a bar code on it, which turns out to link to showing when I bought it.  Ran a test, "It's still under warranty."  So walked out with a new battery.

That works.

Lucky. That has only worked once for me, generally the battery last juuuust over the warranty period.

After I found myself in that same situation, I began putting my receipt under the battery in a ziplock bag.

I replaced the battery in my '01 Dodge Ram this summer. It was in the truck when I bought it 12 years ago. It was Mopar branded, but I think Interstate made it.

Replaced it with an Interstate from Costco.
