it's because Blogger bloggered things up, and I haven't been receiving notice of comments.

    saw a back and forth on that fix between feral Irishman and chicken feathers a couple weeks back

    As a result of GDPR regulations, you need to re-activate comment notifications.

    I suggest turning the feature off first, then reenable per the above link.
