On the other hand, I think the reason there is also that they had basically zero excess capacity to tap when demand spiked.
What's impressive to me is that the demand for AR-15 lowers is still keeping prices up, despite - as I must assume - everyone in the country who can make one making them as fast as they can to fill demand.
I'm sure there was excess capacity there, and it wasn't remotely enough.
