That's been a major concern for a lot of people for years, those people and the stuff prescribed for ADHD and other things. And it's a good question as to just how bad some of them might turn out to be. Damned if anyone can believe what a lot of the pharma companies say, bad as a lot of their information has been on various things. And, since the drugs used on transsexual cases are on such a protected species for the left, that could get real interesting.
We'll see. As a general thing I hate the "This group cannot be allowed arms" idea, but this is a different thing: if it's the medications some are given that's screwing them up*, that's a different matter.
*I know, that's not counting the worthless 'counselors' and teachers in many cases who push kids to think "You may be the wrong gender, we can help with that and don't have to tell your parents!" Said asshats need to be fired. And the politicians and bureaucrats telling parents "If you don't support this, we'll take your kids away for their own safety" need to be dealt with as well.

I see nothing wrong with a permission to search yor prescription files for a gun purchase
ReplyDeleteWhat to watch is if a regulation is passed which is broad enough to snag normal people.
ReplyDeleteEx: the many who are prescribed opioid medications in pain management. The actions of Jeff Sessions caught up every of those who take such medications, but who do not abuse dosage, etc nor show 'unbecoming' behaviors. Doctors had to become creative, such as implementing legal contracts with individual patients in order to continue prescribing certain medications. Some pharmacies followed suit.
The solution is any regulation would contain prerequisites. The FAA Form 8500 is a model for that.
"Have you (applicant) EVER ..."
-Been institutionalized
-Subject to involuntary hold
-Taken, prescribed or other, (certain class of drug)
etc
AND
whatever follows.
Taking a certain class of drug in itself may not be disqualifying.
Lying is automatically disqualifying and may incur financial penalties and/or imprisonment.
Yet, prohibiting am individual's ability to lawfully conduct business with a lawful enterprise in order to purchase and possess a legal item, absent of having committed a crime is ... sticky.
ReplyDeleteIt would not be far fetched to say this is an erosion of individual liberties.
In re to my previous post, would the regulation become so narrow (in order to avoid legal entanglement) that is renders itself moot?
It can be done, both to avoid overly generalized application, and to not become top narrow. But I don't trust any of those in the agency, or those on overwatch, or D.C. in general to commit to doing what is right.
As for the courts, it would take decades to correct what the agency or the legislature failed to provide.
To cut to the chase, any male who thinks themselves a woman, and vice versa, or those who foment such ideas be locked out of the general population. Thought crime? You bet. Sucks to be you.
The real problem is lack of trust of those in government. Which right minded person holds sufficient trust in law makers? Even the agencies pretty much ignore the public comment period.

DeleteAt the very least, it disqualifies them for being mentally ill.
