For some things, I need to do some loading. For some, a LOT of loading. But I need to get this place neatened up first.
Question: anyone familiar with subsonic .223 loads? Guy at work asked, and I've never seen anything on this(not having looked before probably having something to do with that). Lots of "Hey, I tried this out!", but having trouble finding anything from a known source.
hickok45 on youtube did a vid on them.
ReplyDeleteI'll look it up, thanks
ReplyDeleteSubsonic .223 kind of defeats the purpose behind the round.....small and REALLY fast. The .223/5.56 round depends on high velocity to fragment/tumble and do damage. Slowing it down turns it into a slightly heavier version of a .22LR. There are better options for subsonic rounds like 300 blackout.
ReplyDeleteMore of a very light practice/small game round you can use, and with a can have it very quiet.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I've heard some .300 B loads through a can that were quite quiet.
