Attention, Mr. President

Two things I'd like to respond to here:
First,
“I just came from a meeting today in the situation room in which I’ve got people who we know have been on ISIL websites living here in the United States…and we’re allowed to put them on the no-fly list when it comes to airlines, but because of the National Rifle Association, I cannot prohibit those people from buying a gun,” Obama said.
Everyone from the ACLU down has been screaming about the clusterfuck that is the 'no-fly list' precisely BECAUSE it's a clusterfuck: inaccurate, virtually unanswerable, and lots of innocent people on it; note that your criteria seems to be 'They were on a ISIL website!'  Which could mean jihadi wannabe, or could mean somebody doing research. But you ignore that, because 'Banning people from owning guns is good.  Even on bullshit 'reason'.'

Second:
"But no progress can be made on the issue if every gun control proposal is viewed as some “tyrannical destruction of the Second Amendment.”
When you have spoken- multiple times, and with great approval- of following the Australia and Britain model, which is 'ban, confiscate, and license what's left', how the hell are we SUPPOSED to view such crap from you?

You may not understand this, or may not like it and desperately wish it weren't true, but we pay attention to what you say.  And when you have- multiple times- wanted to ban various guns, ban various magazines, ammo, and (fill in the blank); when you've said- more than once- you'd like to look at confiscation and bans and licensing just like in Britain and Australia, we hear it.  And remember it.

And we're not going to let anyone else forget it, either.

How many people in New York and Conn. simply refused to register or turn in firearms when ( illegally ) ordered to do so ?

It is the 2nd Amendment that stops him from prohibiting those people from buying guns, not the NRA. They have nothing to do with it.

  3. Yes, but the NRA and other groups make sure people know what he and his slimy friends are up to; and they hate that.
