At this point I think there are two fixes for the VA:

one is to get rid of it entirely, it being so corrupted it might not be fixable.

The second is to go through the management- starting with the lying bastard at the top- and start hauling them to a very high public place and throwing them over the side.  They aren't just corrupt and uncaring, the actively LOOK for corrupt and uncaring people to hire.  And then bitch and whine when they get caught.

Camille Paglia has some interesting things to say, and she fairly regularly pisses-off the SJW and 'feminist' types.  And she really doesn't like Clinton.  But then she comes out with things like this:
...it wasn’t sexism that stopped two far more qualified, accomplished, and skillful Democratic politicians, Senator Dianne Feinstein and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, from running for president.
She left out 'corrupt and hypocritical'.  And 'control freaks'.

The Social Security Administration wants to play VA games and start reporting people as unable to own firearms.  I expect the standard bullshit of "You want to give guns to crazy people!" to be thrown at anyone objecting.

Let me put this bluntly: especially with the VA example to look on, does ANYONE trust the SSA not to play the same bullshit political games with this?

And it IS political.

Professional Journalism:
As Rhodes admits, it's not that hard to shape the narrative. "All these newspapers used to have foreign bureaus," Rhodes said. "Now they don't. They call us to explain to them what's happening in Moscow and Cairo. Most of the outlets are reporting on world events from Washington. The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That's a sea change. They literally know nothing."
Which makes it easy for a lying piece of shit like Rhodes to get them to report on and do what he wants.

Our Green President and Green Energy:
The Obama administration is revising a federal rule that allows wind-energy companies to operate high-speed turbines for up to 30 years, even if means killing or injuring thousands of federally protected bald and golden eagles.

Under the plan announced Wednesday, companies could kill or injure up to 4,200 bald eagles a year without penalty -- nearly four times the current limit. Golden eagles could only be killed if companies take steps to minimize the losses, for instance, by retrofitting power poles to reduce the risk of electrocution.

You use what you've got:
YAOUNDE, Cameroon — Authorities in northern Cameroon say a local self-defense group used a poisoned arrow to kill a woman with explosives strapped to her body.

  1. "Nancy Pelosi is more accomplished and skilled as a politician than Hillary" is scarcely a ringing endorsement, is it?
And that poisoned arrow in Cameroon, unless it was curare, or from those tiny "Two-step" frogs in Costa Rica, it can't have acted that fast, so there must have been a time of avoiding the woman until the poison kicked in. A harrowing experience.

  2. I'd have worded it "Possibly a more blatant and shameless liar than-", which unless you really admire such I don't consider a qualification.

Or a strong bow and a good shot, in which case the poison was more 'make sure'.

  3. The cure for the VA is simple. Tell Congress to allocate the funds and quit playing doctor. If you think the vets have problems now, wait until they close the VA and put them all on Obamacare. "We'd like to help you, but none of the providers you need to see are on your network." or "I understand you're 90% disabled, but you've used up your benefits for the year."

  4. I don't think this is funds, I think this is corrupt bureaucrats who don't give a damn. And who know this current 'Justice' Department will protect them from any real consequences.
