The letters say nothing about compensating gun owners for the seizures

Well, why should they? It's only your private property they're stealing under the excuse of "It looks scary"; so why should they give a damn about you?

    Also because it's Canada and they don't have a takings clause in their Charter.

    (Oh, Section 8 says people have a right to be secure from "unreasonable search and seizure". Problem is "taking guns because they look scare" is "reasonable" in Canada.)
