That's life. You do what you need to do. Finally got a job at a chemical company and went to night school for a chemistry degree after work. Wow, a college degree in a useful skill that advanced my career! Whodathunk? Now I'm happily retired with a nice income. It's hard to imagine how something like that could happen. Get a degree in a field that pays well and has jobs available and you're set for life. You may not love your job, but that's why it's called work.........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXrwjLahUdwtaminator013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8515829.post-10990603120137689472017-12-12T07:03:41.839-08:002017-12-12T07:03:41.839-08:00I first saw the issues with young people in 1999. ...I first saw the issues with young people in 1999. I interviewed for an entry drafting job, everyone who got an interview either had a 1 or 2 year diploma or 4 years of work experience.

Some canidates were late for the interview, one showed up drunk and smelling like he slept in a ditch and had pissed himself.

Many had a very unrealistic idea about salaries. We were offering $15 per hour ( minwage was $5.25 at the time) and they wanted over 100k per year, they assumed they would instantly make enough money to have the house and car.

One canidate brought his mom with him and she kept answering interview questions for him.

It was a disaster and in the end I picked a lady with 3 school age kids, who only wanted to work reduced hours. She wanted to start at 8:30 and finish at 3pm to work around her kids school schedule. She was a little rusty but I have no doubt she was a far better choice than any of the others.

Exile1981

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
