Sure, Trump donated to democrats. And he donated almost as much to republicans going up to 2012, when he started donating nearly exclusively to republicans (by a factor of 100:1). But you won't hear Cruz or any of the establishment types mentioning that. They try to give the impression that Trump has only ever donated to democrats.<br /><br />Just because Trump gave some money to a politician doesn't mean he supports all of that politician's policies. How could he, when he certainly donated to a swath of politicians with directly conflicting policies on both sides of the aisle? More likely he had to donate for business reasons, to grease the way for some project or other. Like it or not, that's the way business works these days. I seriously doubt Trump sat down to review the policies and statements of every politician he needed to butter up.<br /><br />And guess what Trump owns in California?
