Since I plan to actually do something tonight, the data

is being posted much earlier than usual.

Complaints will not be tolerated.

Ok, dumbasses, do you WANT the Sons of Odin

and a new Crusade?  Because crap like this is how you'll get them.
Five Afghan teens who filmed themselves gang-raping a boy under the age of 15 will not be deported from Sweden — because they would be “hit very hard” by such a punishment.
...
The Afghans have been found guilty of aggravated rape, but instead of being deported, they will serve sentences between 13-15 months. These child rapists cannot be deported, because they would be “hit very hard” as Afghanistan is unsafe, the court said.
And Sweden is becoming unsafe for Swedes, who're being 'hit very hard' by the crime these people are committing.

And you work to keep people from knowing about the crimes whenever you can, and downplay them, and call anyone who demands action a racist, and cause more and more people to decide "Screw this, if the government won't act, we'll have to."

Going to wind up being real interesting times over there.

It would be a terrible thing to do to him, but

having Mike Rowe in high office just might be a really good thing.

Midway has a deal on NRA memberships

If you're thinking about joining, take a look

When the NYeffingTimes has to admit the truth,

you know the enemy is in trouble.
But in the 10 years since the previous ban lapsed, even gun control advocates acknowledge a larger truth: The law that barred the sale of assault weapons from 1994 to 2004 made little difference.

It turns out that big, scary military rifles don’t kill the vast majority of the 11,000 Americans murdered with guns each year. Little handguns do.

In 2012, only 322 people were murdered with any kind of rifle, F.B.I. data shows.

The continuing focus on assault weapons stems from the media’s obsessive focus on mass shootings, which disproportionately involve weapons like the AR-15, a civilian version of the military M16 rifle. This, in turn, obscures some grim truths about who is really dying from gunshots.
...
It was much the same in the early 1990s when Democrats created and then banned a category of guns they called “assault weapons.” ...
It must've caused unending butthurt to publish this article.

And the Democrat Follies continue

According to Dershowitz, he will support some individual Democratic candidates, but has concerns about the state of the Democratic Party.

“I will still vote my conscience and mostly I’ll vote for Democrats, but I will not be a member of a party that represents itself through a chairman like Keith Ellison and through policies like that espoused by John Kerry and Barack Obama.”
Sounds nice, but it took him eight years to decide on this?

Just another Obama dreamer, looking for another kid to rape freedom and a job.

Welcome once again to the final days of the Obama presidency, in which the whole point is to take abuse of executive power to new and, Obama homes, irreversible new heights. Screw your neighbors. Screw your own country. You've got nothing to lose at this point, and you think you've come up with a way to do it that leaves your successor helpless to reverse your abuses once you're gone. One day it's drilling in the Atlantic and the Arctic. The next it's the de facto declaration of war against one of your best allies.

Now you've decided to make official what you've long believed - that all property ultimately belongs to the state, whose primary interest in said property is to prevent said land from ever benefiting the people in any way. And if that means you're seizing 1.5 million acres on the thinnest of premises, hey, you're Barack Obama. At this point, it's what you do:
Larry Correia had a piece a year or two ago on just how badly one of Obama's earlier land thefts screwed the people of Utah; apparently that wasn't enough damage to satisfy the SCOAMF.

Speaking of screwing people,
But alas, now comes the federal government to tell the inhabitants of Alaska’s interior that, really, they should not be building fires to keep themselves warm during the winter. The New York Times reports the Environmental Protection Agency could soon declare the Alaskan cities of Fairbanks and North Pole, which have a combined population of about 100,000, in “serious” noncompliance of the Clean Air Act early next year.
...
The problem is, there’s no replacement for wood-burning stoves in Alaska’s interior. Heating oil is too expensive for a lot of people, and natural gas isn’t available. So they’ve got to burn something. The average low temperature in Fairbanks in December is 13 degrees below zero. In January, it’s 17 below. During the coldest days of winter, the high temperature averages -2 degrees, and it can get as cold as -60. This is not a place where you play games with the cold. If you don’t keep the fire lit, you die. For people of modest means, and especially for the poor, that means you burn wood in a stove—and you keep that fire lit around the clock.
Thinking about this, I ask you to reflect on the line in the previous link, ...that all property ultimately belongs to the state, whose primary interest in said property is to prevent said land from ever benefiting the people in any way.  Now think about the result of people in Alaska being give the choice of 'Move to somewhere that heating oil and gas is available/affordable, or freeze'.  Does it not strike you that this would seem like a wonderful thing to do to people by Obama & Co?  Force them out of the places that horrible humans shouldn't be 'fouling the face of mother Gaia' or something?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least that this President and EPA decided to use this to do exactly that.  You've got the enviroweenie extremists who'd love to make most of the population disappear, but they'd settle for driving them out of everywhere they can, and you have the control freaks who don't actually care a crap for The Environment, but the loves them some new way to control the peasants.

License plate readers that provided the authorities with no personal information would be pointless, because cars don't commit crimes; only people do. So one of two things seems to be true about license plate readers. Either they do not record any personal information, in which case they are worthless as a crime-fighting tool. Or they do record personal information—about tens of thousands of people who are not criminals, without any reasonable grounds for suspicion.

In short, they are either useless or they are an invasion of privacy. Which is it?

How stupid are most gun laws(and a lot of the idiots who enforce them)?  This stupid.
While this is the exact NFA violation that the provisions in the law were placed there for, a violent criminal unlawfully obtaining a deadly, concealable, and menacing weapon, in almost every jurisdiction in the USA the ATF does not pursue violent criminal violators of the NFA relative to short-barreled weapons.

Why not? Because the experienced criminal investigators know that if they complete the case and present it to the US Attorney’s Office all tied up in a bow with slam-dunk evidence of every element of the crime, the AUSA will still decline it. The US Attorneys don’t want to jail violent street criminals, they want the ATF out there chasing paperwork errors by licensees. An AUSA gets much more attorney cred for nailing some gun dealer or importer on a transposed serial number on a form (or, one of ATF’s favorites, the end purchaser putting down the wrong county of residence by mistake), than he;d ever get just locking up another ho-hum gang member (who just turned to crime because he’s a misunnerstood minority, depraved on account of he’s deprived).

And the idiots who love the idea of socialism still say

it's somehow OUR fault Venezuela isn't Socialist Heaven, but instead a hellhole like every other country that's gone socialist.
He spent the day before foraging for food in an empty lot, because there was nothing to eat at home. Then in a hospital because what he found made him gravely ill.
Hours later, he was dead on a gurney, which doctors rolled by his mother as she watched helplessly. She said the hospital had lacked the simplest supplies needed to save him on that day last July.
...
Doctors have prepared to operate on bloody tables because they did not have enough water to clean them. Psychiatric patients have had to be tied to chairs in mental hospitals because there was no medication left to treat their delusions.

Hunger has driven some people to riot — and others into rickety fishing boats, fleeing Venezuela on reckless journeys by sea.

But it was the story of a boy with no food, who had gone searching for wild roots to eat but ended up poisoning himself instead, that seemed to embody everything that had gone wrong in Venezuela.
Damn the communist bastards who caused this.  And damn every brainless clown who insists it's not the fault of the socialists.

Always remember, a lot of the major media is in the tank for the gun bigots and hoplophobes,

to the point of putting out crap like this.
Anyway, you have to be really dumb/distracted when you cannot get the math right even when you get to move the goalposts and come up with your own definitions.

Since I've got dinner cooking, and want to fall over after that's done,

data comes early

Well, guy, what's wrong with them is

they're fucking insane nut-level bigots

The usual warning is 'Don't read the comments', but some of these you really need to see.  Cut off family, friends, kids, anyone who MAY have voted for Trump.

At this point I'm with Michael Williamson: I don't like or trust Trump, but so far not only is not not bad, but the entertainment of the left (appropriately)collectively losing their shit is amazing.

When they're not making you wonder who's supposed to be holding their leash and making them take their meds.

No surprise; to these people the female is always a victim, and the male

always a victimizer.
Those last 2 sentences of Dauber's are — as her use the word "garner" suggests — disingenuous. The accused and the accuser are not in the same position, and the panel isn't voting to pick one of 2 individuals who are vying for the same thing. It's not a question of equality. It's a question fairness — giving enough process to the one who faces a very serious deprivation.
ADDED: I don't like Dauber's reference to the "victim" and the "respondent." The absence of parallelism shows the strain. Before the outcome is determined, it is emotive and biased to call one person the "victim." Dauber is decorous enough to avoid saying the word that goes with "victim":  "perpetrator." She says "respondent." The word that goes with "respondent" is "complainant."

Borrowed from Huffman, 'This is what they think of you':
Isn’t it great to be a gun owner? Without your weapons, you’d probably have to face up to being an ignorant redneck loser, but with guns you’re the man!
And if you don't agree with them, you're a horrible beast who wants children to die!!

A: Tucson city government is violating the law.  And about to pay a serious price(it SHOULD come out of the pockets of the idiots responsible).  And it demonstrates what they're really after, and what's actually wrong with them:
FBI background check registrations are insufficient to these people. They begged and pleaded and campaigned for background checks, and now want more, but they're obviously not enough. The smelter is the real issue.

This is the topic Tucson raises -- violation of law by elected officials in pursuit of the same irrational perverse goal their fellow leftists pursue at everyone's dangerous expense. It is an impossible attempt to quench their paranoid fears by suppressing the rights of innocent people everywhere. The notion of guns in the public's hands is simply unacceptable to them. It's not political, it's medical, they're hoplophobic, and a dire threat to freedom. Their unbalanced actions qualify them for removal from setting public policy and destroying valuable public property in the process, in violation of law.

Actually, I tend to think the only reason is 'surprises' anyone(and they're all his supporters that I can tell) is because they know how much money Jewish groups put into the Democrat Party, and they're surprised he'd endanger that.
Think about it. When we celebrate Chanukah, we celebrate the Maccabees’ battle for Jerusalem, for control of the eternal Jewish capital. And on the eve of Chanukah, Obama declared the Western Wall, the only remnant of the Second Temple, occupied territory.
Every empire or ruler who ever made war against the Jewish people has disappeared from the face of the earth. Some are barely memories. Obama and his enablers — especially his Jewish supporters — are destined to suffer the same ignoble fate.

Many of my friends in synagogue append the traditional Jewish phrase “Yemach shemo” (may his name be erased) to any mention of Obama.

The only surprise about Obama’s perfidy is that it surprises anyone. One of Obama’s closest friends back in Chicago was Rashid Khalidi, an arch-terrorist and Jew-hater. A tape of a speech by Obama at a dinner in Khalidi’s honor is so poisonous to Jews that the Los Angeles Times keeps it under lock and key.

"Do not stand too close to the campfire,

unless you're really friendly with everyone."

Or, as Jennifer put it,

'Dance, monkeys'

Just in case you haven't seen Jennifer's piece before, it's here.

Georgetown University associate professor C. Christine Fair is a bitter, vile, nasty asshole

and she's earned every word(and more) of the description.

Her target, Ms. Nomani, said this in an interview:
She continued, “This is not a difficult conversation to be had … I have never felt unwelcome in this country. After this election, my fellow liberals have turned me into an enemy, as if I have horns on my head. That’s not a comfortable feeling.”
It's not, is it?  Just remember that your 'fellow liberals' have been throwing crap like that at anyone who doesn't follow the Approved Line for years.

Deal with it.

We do.

An open apology to Dolly Parton

I'd heard of some things, but not this:
For example, I’d heard about your origins as a poor girl from the hills of East Tennessee, and when I learned you’d created a theme park in your native Sevier County I rolled my eyes. “Really, a theme park?” I thought. “As if roller coasters will really help the people of rural Appalachia. Why not create something truly useful to give back to your community, like a library.”

Oh.

You have created a library, actually, and possibly in a bigger and more magical way than any brick structure filled with books could. And this is where my understanding of who you are really began to shift.

Be it known that Fecesbook and the Zuckerbitches are at it again

Now I can't even sign on until I run their 'anti-virus' software.  No thank you, I don't want whatever the hell your crap will leave behind.

Just saw some pictures of a bunch of celebritutes in their finest designer attire; makes me wish for celebrities who at least have the fashion sense of those in the 50's and 60's.

He gets this part right:
The way we demonize comedians for use of language or terminology is unspeakable. Because that's exactly what comedians should be doing, offending and upsetting people, and being offensive. Comedy is there, like art, to make people uncomfortable, and challenge their views, and hopefully have a spirited yet civil argument. If you're a comedian whose bread and butter seems to be language, situations, and jokes that I find racist and offensive, I won't buy tickets to your show or watch you on TV. I will not support you. If people ask me what I think, I will say you suck, and that I think you are racist and offensive. But I'm not going to try to put you out of work. I'm not going to start a boycott, or a hashtag, looking to get you driven out of the business.

The utter contempt with which privileged Eastern liberals such as myself discuss red-state, gun-country, working-class America as ridiculous and morons and rubes is largely responsible for the upswell of rage and contempt and desire to pull down the temple that we're seeing now.

I've spent a lot of time in gun-country, God-fearing America. There are a hell of a lot of nice people out there, who are doing what everyone else in this world is trying to do: the best they can to get by, and take care of themselves and the people they love. When we deny them their basic humanity and legitimacy of their views, however different they may be than ours, when we mock them at every turn, and treat them with contempt, we do no one any good. Nothing nauseates me more than preaching to the converted. The self-congratulatory tone of the privileged left—just repeating and repeating and repeating the outrages of the opposition—this does not win hearts and minds. It doesn't change anyone's opinions. It only solidifies them, and makes things worse for all of us. We should be breaking bread with each other, and finding common ground whenever possible. I fear that is not at all what we've done.
And then says this:
...If you look around the world (in the Philippines, in England), the rise of nationalism, the fear of the Other. When people are afraid and feel that their government has failed them they do things that seem completely mad and unreasonable to those of who are perhaps under less pressure. As unhappy and surprised as I am with the outcome, I'm empathetic to the forces that push people towards what I see as an ultimately self-destructive act. Berlusconi, Putin, Duterte, the world is filled with bad choices, made in pressured times.
'the fear of the Other'.  I think there's little of that, and lots of pissed-off at the people he mentions in the first part.

Also, voting for Clinton, that's not a 'ultimately self-destructive act'?

“it hurts my heart that so many young people are so comfortable enough using these phrases and objectifying women with such ease.”
Welcome to the party, dumbass.   A lot of people have been pointing out that how your friends, and you, influence kids is destructive in the long run, and you laughed at them.  Now you're suddenly seeing what they're talking about?  Really?

So, if I have this right: Boys are more prone to play with "boy" toys because boys are afforded less freedom by social norms, and are essentially forced to play with boy-toys, and girls are afforded more freedom to play as they choose, and this means that... girls are the oppressed sex?

The authoress goes on to state that the spatial skills that boy-type toys teach are important for later-in-life abilities in STEM fields. (And you can tell how important STEM fields are to feminist theorists by the exactly zero of them who majored in a STEM field.)

So if you follow this dingbat's logic -- and why should you? She obviously hasn't -- then, in order to spur girls into being better at STEM, you should force them, as boys are forced, to play with boy-toys against their inclinations.

And that, you see, will result in more "choice" for girls!

A: Yes, Obama & Co. worked hard to screw Israel.  Because Obama doesn't like Jews, Netenyahu wouldn't kiss his ass, and because- for God knows what reason- they like enabling a bunch of bloody-handed savages.
B: Yes, they're still lying about it.  Because that's what they do.
C: God knows what other shit this miserable bastard will throw out as he leaves.

When the last cellphone in the Caliphate is destroyed or worn out no one will know how to make another. Their 8th century is capable of producing fanaticism but probably couldn't make a ball point pen. Objects in the ISIS universe are "magical" -- put there by Allah in the possession of the infidel for holy warriors to plunder and enjoy until the power which inheres in them gradually fades away.

Surprisingly much of the modern world is not very different. Many people treat technology like magic even in the West. How does a cell phone work? Dunno. Where does it come from? The store.
...
If a global catastrophe destroyed all of civilization's works yet spared these few million they could re-create every object in the world again. By contrast if only these few millions perished the remaining billions though untouched could continue only until things broke down.  It is knowledge which sustains civilization. Of course knowledge is also stored in libraries against catastrophe. Or is it?  If universities began seeing science as old "white man" sorcery they might start purging it like ISIS does wizardry.
And the result, as Heinlein noted, will be blamed on 'bad luck'.

And if you're not familiar, there's a list of  213 things Skippy is not allowed to do; part of them:
The sound of the Phalanx anti-missile defense system going off is not just a way to alert the crew that the ship is about to sink.
Sponge Bob Square Pants is not a proper cadence for marching
Not allowed to exchange my M16 for a Pistol, “Because it’ll be more fun.”
Not allowed to Exchange my M16 for a shotgun, “Because all the cool kids have one.”
Not allowed to exchange my M16 for a Sub-Machine Gun.

Ok, I can, but only if I can find one for the commander too.

Also, there's a followon.  I particularly like
Do not challenge SERE grads to play hide-and-seek.

A: Something under the ice? Sure.

Lots of things out there we don't know about.

B: Nazi base from WWII?  That big?  You off your meds, or what?

Another "Yes, we lied, and we did this to damage the US and empower Iran" from Dear Leader:
Last week, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) posted documents revealing that President Obama granted Iran permission to stockpile uranium in excess of the 300 kilogram limit set by the nuclear deal. Jenna Lifhits of the Weekly Standard has the story.

The exemptions had been kept secret for almost a year. However the Trump administration reportedly intended to make them public, which may be why the IAEA decided to reveal them.
The Obama administration didn’t just keep the exemptions secret. Apparently, it denied their existence. According to Lifhits:
Some details of the exemptions had previously been leaked. The Institute for Science and International Security revealed in September that Iran had been allowed to exceed certain caps in the deal so that the country could come into compliance with the deal’s terms.
Administration officials dismissed the. . .report at the time.
In other words, the administration was dishonest. What else is new?

Well, if you're this concerned about people finding out what your reading list is, maybe you're doing something you don't want people to know about.  And when you're a teacher/professor, people damn well have a right to know what you're teaching.  Deal with it.

Speaking of academics, remember when the left valued other views, and tolerance thereof?

Not so much.
A professor at Georgetown University went into an unbelievable foul-mouthed meltdown that lasted 31 days after a Muslim ex-colleague said she voted for Donald Trump.

C Christine Fair, an associate professor at the Center for Peace and Security Studies, was incensed after Asra Q Nomani, 'lifelong liberal', wrote an article about voting for Donald Trump as a Muslim immigrant.

That led to a month of abuse on social media - including insults and threats of lawsuits - The Daily Caller reported.
The same kind of idiot who screams "RACISM!" if someone on the right looks sideways at a muslim.  But those are 'good' muslims, I guess; 'bad' ones are open targets.

Anyone want to know why Obama became known as SCOAMF*, and is seen as the enemy?

He and all his minions?
Last week, the Obama administration put the finishing touches on a new policy that would deprive recipients of disability insurance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) of their Second Amendment rights. The administration will now characterize those citizens as "mental defectives," thereby having their ability to own a firearm subject to the federal Gun Control Act.

Supplemental Security Income helps blind, disabled, and elderly people with little to no income. Previously, it was understood that "mentally defective" referred to one's mental health. Citizens who have been institutionalized against their will are restricted from owning a firearm. The new definition of "mentally defective" has nothing to do with being mentally ill.

The Social Security Administration released its final decision after a period of open comments that drew more than 91,000 responses, including a response from the NRA. Although Obama likes to empty out Guantanamo Bay of dangerous terrorists and commute the sentences of criminals guilty of breaking federal firearms laws, he doesn't like law-abiding American citizens to possess firearms.
Another last- days act by a bitter, vindictive little shit attacking people who refuse to kiss his ass and follow his royal directives.

Nicely said

For example. I have been for gay marriage since the AIDs epidemic. Why? Because as my friends were dying I saw too many people I knew, respected and loved get completely fucked by insurance companies, families of SIGs and the law standby helpless because a couple -- that had been together for decades -- weren't allowed the legal protections of marriage. (Yes, I just said "I was for gay marriage before it was fashionable.")

Am I for forcing religious institutions into performing services? Am I for hundreds of thousands of dollars penalties for not baking a cake? Am I for specialized government agencies to specifically hunt down those who don't want to participate? Not only no, but HELL NO!

Take any cause and you'll find much of the same. Abortion? Yep. For it Birth control? Yep. For it. Demanding others HAVE to pay for it? Nope. Equality? Yep. Special treatment? Nope. Against rape? Yep. Title IX tribunals? Hell NO! Equal opportunity and employee protection? Yep. To the point of where you can't fire an incompetent employee lest you get a charge of ________(fill in the blank)? Nope. The list goes on and on and on. And they all happen under the government being used as a goon. What can be originally a protection can be twisted and weaponized.

The long and short of it is though that I'm betting that a lot of people who are in hysterics right now ... well, it's not just that they've been walking past a fierce dog behind an electric fence and snapping their fingers at it. Many have actively been throwing rocks at the dog.

Well they've just seen the fence they've been basing their behaviors has been blown down. To further the analogy, they're screaming for it to be put back up before the dog realizes it too.

Yesterday was the birthday for the Bill of Rights

Two hundred and twenty-five years ago this month, Virginia ratified the Bill of Rights, thereby enshrining its 10 Amendments in the Constitution. The official anniversary, 10 days ago, was noted here and there, but it did not get the sort of celebration it deserved: something like the Fourth of July and Mardi Gras and Christmas all rolled into one.
Now if we can keep the asshats of both sides from damaging it further, and roll back some of the damage already done.

Thomas Sowell is retiring.  They collected some of his better sayings:
1. "It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance."
2. "Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it." 3. "Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good."
And a personal favorite,
5. "Some of the biggest cases of mistaken identity are among intellectuals who have trouble remembering that they are not God."

Shoe on other foot, etc.
Progressives cheered Obama when he used his unilateral power of executive orders to fast track a left-wing agenda, circumventing our system of checks and balances, and blamed the other side for “holding back progress” and blocking government from “doing more.”
But now that same power rests in the hands of a man who may use it to persecute them. It's scary. The liberties we trade for security and the powers we grant government are never returned. We, as a people, must be vigilant in ensuring that we are not tricked into trading away our individual liberties for the promise of a benevolent government, because one day that government may turn tyrannical and dictatorial.

Speaking of Democrats abusing power and people,
John Chisholm, his assistants, and the so-called nonpartisan state Government Accountability Board spent years hounding conservatives, spying on them, raiding their homes, stealing their property and threatening to put them in jail if they said anything about the probe, only to be told by multiple courts that their speech dragnet was a clear violation of the First Amendment.

Still, Barca and his fellow Dems continue to see “potential crimes.”

No, the John Doe will never really be over for liberals — or for the people the probe terrorized.

Y'know, if you just started firing the people in charge of this crap at the IRS, and prosecuting those who broke laws, it'd probably clean a lot of this up REAL quick.

"You're all racists!  Even the ones that voted for Obama twice!"

Borrowing from Mr. Williamson on Bookface, 'Which right-winger said this?'

We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans...

When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, it was assumed that the Americans who had that freedom would use it responsibly ... [Now] there's a lot of irresponsibility. And so a lot of people say there's too much freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it.

If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the government's ability to govern the people, we should look to limit those guarantees.
And a real winner,
You know the one thing that's wrong with this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say.

The answer: that horrible people-hating freedom-hating member of the VRWC, Bill Clinton.

By the way, remember who said this?
"We need to stop worrying about the rights of the individual and start worrying about what is best for society!"
That was Hillary Clinton.  Who came way too damn close to sitting in the Oval Office.

Mr. Williamson's summary:
Remember when Democrats protected freedom and liberty?
Neither do I.

It's Obama and Kerry, anything surprising about this?

United States Secretary of State John Kerry and White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice told a Palestinian delegation in Washington 10 days before the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution against Israeli settlements that the U.S. would not impose a veto on such a resolution if its wording was balanced, according to a document released by an Egyptian news site.

The State Department denied the contents of the docement.
There could be a friggin' recording of the meeting, and they'd still deny it while they tried to find a way to weasel-word around it.

Couple of days ago one of Obama's paid liars loudly announced that 'the US did not draft or introduce' the resolution when asked about accusations Obama & Co. were involved.  Tell me, how many ways could you be involved without having actually drafted or introduced it?  A lot.

My breakdown:
This is just the kind of petty bullshit you'd expect from Obama, because Israel wouldn't kiss his ass and do as he wished.  And I'm more likely to believe the Israelis on this than I am Obama & Co.

The level of stupid required to write this

is mind-boggling.  And whoever approved printing it is a fool.
I suppose that by now regular readers of National Review will have figured out that my sympathy for the Trumps is . . . limited. My own view is that Donald and Ivanka and Uday and Qusay are genuinely bad human beings and that the American public has made a grave error in entrusting its highest office to this cast of American Psycho extras. That a major political party was captured by these cretins suggests that its members are not worthy of the blessings of this republic. But here we are.

Seriously?  You compare them to the murdering, torturing offspring of Saddam Hussein?  Williamson, you're- I can't say 'a fool' because that doesn't begin to cover it.

"Nobody wants to take your guns!"

The hell they don't.

Did the Russians really rig the 2016 US election? You bet they did!

Dearest Dimitri
I am pleased to report that phase one of Operation Cankles is total success! Soviet implantation of stupid American woman resulted in birth today of hefty girl-child destined to be unelectable candidate 70 years from now.

'Higher' Education.  That's a label I use for some of the crap that goes on in colleges: the suppression of speech, the leftward cliff(lot more than a slant) of teachers who more indoctrinate than teach, the hideous COST of all of it.*  And a lot more kids are seeing it for themselves.

Some things you have to have that paper that says "I put up with the bullshit to learn what I needed, from the real classes, for this field", but more people are saying "Screw this, I don't want to be in debt up to my eyebrows that I'll spend decades paying off for this crap."

So, take the people hearing the Mike Rowe message and going for a skilled trade, take the people sick of the expense and bullshit of going to college, take the availability of online courses, and the university model's in real trouble.  Whether the clowns in charge at so many of them realize it or not.

About time.  And maybe it'll force some changes.

Speaking of colleges,
Over the summer, workmen removed most of the remaining books fromour Science and Engineering Library at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Roughly 80,000 books, worth between $2-$6 million were destroyed or shipped off campus to distant storage facilities.

The act was taken with virtually no faculty input.

In 1990, when I arrived to work at UCSC, I took pride in our Science Library.

By 2000 new journals were no longer displayed.

By 2010 the journal room was gone, turned into a large study. We could no longer browse new journals.

After journals had been vanquished, the next enemy was clear: books.

At the beginning of this Fall quarter I entered the library. No books on the first floor. I walked up to the second floor, where the math and physics collection used to be. Nothing. No books.
...
I’ve since found that the phenomenon of shrinking and destroying university research libraries is international. But as we like to say here at UCSC, we are at the vanguard. Our head librarian prefers the word “de-duplicate” to “destroy”, “remove” or “shred”.

The rationale behind de-duplification? Space. Empty study space with desks for the flood of 600 additional students UC Santa Cruz was pressured to admit this Fall.

How did the library staff decide what books to de-duplicate? Data, analytics, the ubiquitous algorithm, devoid of a human element. If a book had not been touched, according to library data, in the last five years, then it went on their chopping list.

This rationality ignores the library’s clients: humans.

My, Planned Parenthood has had a serious money-maker going here.
Showalter further reports on the highly profitable and brisk business. Planned Parenthood is now proved guilty beyond a doubt, as the actual invoices are produced in the report:

“After paying $60 for a 20-week old fetus at a Planned Parenthood clinic in June of 2014, ABR "sold its brain to one customer for $325; both of its eyes for $325 each ($650 total) to a second customer, a portion of its liver for $325 to a third customer; its thymus for $325 and another portion of liver to a fourth customer; and its lung for $325 to a fifth customer."

“And those costs were only for the fetal organs themselves. Before adding shipping and disease screening fees, on that one fetus alone the company charged its customers a total of $2,275, netting a $2,215 profit.

* When daughter was at OU, one day one of the teachers was trying(again) to get the audio/video system for the room to work.  Finally told everyone "Every one of you is paying a fee as part of the class costs to buy and maintain this equipment.  Every One Of You, and everyone else who takes this class.  They're damned well not using that money to keep this working, so where's it going?"  Which was a damned good question.

Manley Wade Wellman;

Damn, he could write a story.

Crap like this is why people like Ciccariello-Maher are the enemy

Taking to his Twitter account on Christmas eve, Ciccariello-Maher, himself a white man, tweeted, “All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide.” He later deleted the tweet.

The professor who describes himself as a “visiting researcher” at El Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales in Mexico also had praise for the “massacre of whites.”
Also says he's a communist.  Which also makes him the enemy.

One does wonder, if some Person of Colour decided to whack him, would he protest?  Or consider that he had it coming?

With idiots like this talking up genocide, I'll post this link again: making a AK using a shovel for receiver material.

I've heard Chile has very good quake-related building codes,

but this is kind of amazing:
A 7.6-magnitude earthquake off the Southern Chilean coast has left 21,000 homes without power. Miraculously, there are no reports of death or injury following the quake.

However, the earthquake did force thousands of residents to evacuate their homes on Christmas Day by orders of government officials. That evacuation order was eventually lifted - as was the tsunami watch following the quake.

Boy, a bunch of crap has happened/come out the last couple of days,

including discovering that George Washington, were he to come back for a day, might take up a whip and go through the university named after him.
George Washington University in Washington, D.C., has apparently decided that giving students more “flexibility” means freeing them from taking required courses in U.S. History — even if they’re history majors.

According to The College Fix, the new requirements allow for students to take an optional course in previously required courses, or a high score on a placement test to opt out of the requirement, but the mandate to take U.S. history is no longer in effect.

As noted, even if this had been the right address/right people, what moron thought this would be a good action to take?
Officers from the New York Police Department raided a Brooklyn home on Thursday, arrested the family living there, and then posted pictures to Snapchat—yes, really—with the caption "Merry Christmas Its [sic] NYPD."
It wasn't until later that the cops realized they had raided the wrong house, and arrested and publicly humiliated the wrong people.
'Unprofessional' is an understatement.
"The worst part was the Snapchats," Kimberly Santiago, one of the people wrongfully arrested in Thursday's incident, told the TV station. "He doesn't deserve to be a police officer. If he does that, what other things he does on the low that nobody knows?"
Exactly the problem with a lot of other crap some departments let a cop get away with.

Same as "You don't need a gun(or any other weapon), the cops will take care of you", isn't it?  Which means the gun bigots are acting just like the British who pushed us into the Revolutionary War.

Suddenly, it seems, the left has discovered freedom of association. After years of telling religious people that they had a moral and legal obligation to throw out their religion and serve same-sex weddings, provide contraception, and fund abortion, the left now realizes that the ability to pick and choose those to whom you give your services is actually rather vital.

Don’t expect it to last.

Of course artists should be able to turn down clients. So should religious bakers. But you won’t see the left acknowledge that. The only freedom to turn down clients is the freedom for leftists to turn down conservative and religious clients, not the other way around.

We've got a bunch of people who seem to want to follow the lead of the PRC on 'fake news'.  With themselves being the definers of 'fake'.

Actually, considering some of the crap he's thrown out, the message could just be "Ignore the Archbishop of Canterbury."

Once again: Che really was a murdering, torturing, tyranny-minded little shit.  "But he looks so good on a shirt!" isn't a defense.

Apparently another of Trump's appointees is someone that bastard McConnell doesn't like.  Good.  Worth it just for that.

Socialism!
Between 2012 and 2015, "the rate of death among babies under a month old increased more than a hundredfold in public hospitals run by the Health Ministry", the New York Times reported in May. "The rate of death among new mothers in those hospitals increased by almost five times in the same period."
When you've screwed things up this badly, that anyone can continue to pretend things are glorious, and defend this, is a definite sign of insanity.

A further Merry Christmas

And thanks to Phssthpok for passing this along
