Busy, busy, busy,

but one must make time for recreational studies

Probably the only stuff I'll post today, but have to get this in:

The hell Obama hasn't called for confiscation of guns:
At the 1:45  mark, below is video proof of Obama openly expressing his desire to impose Australian-style gun control laws here in America. And it is a fact that the Australian law began with a massive campaign involving the confiscation (through a mandatory government buyback program) of legally purchased firearms.

And this on those wonderful bird cuisinarts all over Britain:
Doesn't sound very good to me

And one last thing: "Rules and laws are for the commoners, not the minions of government"
Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy will appear before a joint hearing on Oct. 27 to answer questions about the findings of an OIG report, which determined 45 Secret Service employees accessed the House Oversight and Government Reform chairman’s personal information a total of 60 times, with some leaking information to the media.

The report also found that 18 senior Secret Service officials failed to notify Clancy or end the activity.
This shit isn't just unethical, it's criminal.  Chances of any of the people involved paying any real penalty: just about zero.

I never find stuff like this

in the woods.  Dammit.

But this line: “This was a common sword in Western Norway. But it was a costly weapon, and the owner must have used it to show power,” he said.
ANY good sword was costly.  And 'used it to show power' ?  Mostly as in "Do what I say or I'll cleave your skull."

Speaking of tools, Lucky Gunner did another massive test, this one of ammo.  Lots of charts showing the different brands and loads.

gu

"But us poor womyn aren't CAPABLE

of successfully using a gun to defend ourselves!"

Only response I want to use right now:
Reminds of Biden saying 'women can't handle a AR-15, they're too complicated!', doesn't it?

Yeah, if they paid attention to, and reported on it,

it would damage the Preferred Narrative™.
The body of a 20-year-old Syrian woman, “Rokstan M.,” was unearthed from a shallow grave in the small Saxon town of Dessau last week. Her father and brothers stabbed her to death on her mother’s orders, after she was gang-raped by three men. The rape left her “unclean” and the mother allegedly demanded the killing to restore the family’s honor. German police are seeking the father and brothers. That by itself is not newsworthy; what is newsworthy is the news itself, which appeared in not one of Germany’s major daily newspapers or websites. The tabloid Bild-Zeitung ran the story, along with the regional press, while the arbiters of enlightened opinion buried it. Der Spiegel, the country’s biggest news site, and the Frankfurter Algemeine Zeitung, the newspaper of record, made no mention.

There's also a link to this:
Germany's police union and women's rights groups accused the authorities on Tuesday of playing down reports of harassment, sexual assault and even rape at refugee shelters because they feared a backlash against asylum seekers.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere called on Germans to avoid succumbing to a blanket suspicion of the hundreds of thousands of migrants arriving in the country, saying an unbelievable number of rumors were being spread on the Internet.

But police union chief Rainer Wendt said he believed that authorities in Germany's federal states, which are responsible for housing asylum seekers, were playing down the problem of assaults on women in the shelters.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Lube Test, Part II

I dug around and found a bulk-pack of Remington Golden Bullets and took that along; whatever their flaws may be, they tend to be a bit hotter than a lot of other .22 ammo, and generally work well in the conversions.

Result: 100 rounds through each, and not a single bobble due to lack of slickness(doesn't count the four that needed a second strike, that's ammo).  Looking at the barrels and rails, they still look nicely slicked-up with the CherryBalmz, so next time I'll put some more through them.

Generally, if a lube won't let these conversions work, it shows up fast.  The Ma Deuce Juice and Black Rifle Balm didn't magically slick things up to the point that just any high-velocity .22 ammo would reliably run, but then nothing else has either.  So the initial finding on these pistols would be that the stuff works.

On the 15-22, had several rounds of Federal Champion that ran the bolt back enough to eject and pick up the next round, but not quite far enough to cock the hammer.  I suspect I may not have used enough lube on the rails(definite difference between 'just enough' and 'Is there any there?'); that's easy enough to check, I'll strip it out and add a dab more and give that another try next time out.

Yeah, the State Department just now found

1300 e-mails from the now-dead ambassador(more of those "But we already turned EVERYTHING over!")  But there's nothing to see here, no attempt to hide things, you haters.

Short version: "It doesn't matter if there was no hate crime, SOMEONE WAS TROUBLED!  Therefore we need a million dollars of other peoples money to spend on diversity."

On the general front, in the near future- say, late next week- bloggage will be slight to non-existent for a while.  Due to the fact that there's damage that'll require surgery to repair, my shoulder will be worked on, and trying to type much with one hand is a pain(so is shooting; yes I have been doing more one-handed practice).

So, between that then, and trying to make sure stuff in the house and yard is caught up so I don't have to worry about it then, much less typing will be done.  I did get the second part of the lube test done, I'll write that up later today.

Liar, liar, pantsuit on fire

"Yes, she did speak glowingly of two countries that had confiscations, and registration and licensing of what was left, but she didn't MEAN she wanted those things, oh no!  She just has common-sense ideas, like backdoor reg- I mean universal background checks, and making gun companies liable for what someone else does.  COMMON SENSE things, for our lawyer friends and fellow gun bigots."

Could've changed that new title to "I told you, you bloody fools" just to clean up the language, but yeah.

Think it was Insty that said 'people who admire communism are just as disgusting as people who admire Nazis, and should be treated the same way.'

The political consultant’s new book, “The Clintons’ War on Women,” is the top-rated political history seller on Amazon, but the online retailer was flooded last week with one-star reviews.

“My publisher [Skyhorse] confirmed with Amazon — they were all from the same URL, at Hillary’s HQ in Brooklyn,” Stone — whose clients have included Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump — told me. “Why are they so afraid of this book?”
That's pretty blatant.

That school principal in San Francisco?  She's backed down.  Apparently she didn't like having it pointed out what a racist control freak she is.

Speaking of the four stupids,

Guy named Mark Mac Young has a blog on self-defense, also posts on  Facebook; on the latter he had a response to a fairly stupid 'Be scared of guns' article.  Seems to be publicly available, so when you have a few minutes might want to take a look.

'Affordable Care Act'. "We're doing this because we care!"

Bullshit.
Charity for the uninsured is one of the factors that could discourage enrollment in Obamacare, which requires all Americans to purchase health insurance or else face new taxes themselves from the IRS.

“It requires tax-exempt hospitals to do a community needs survey and file additional paperwork with the IRS every three years. This is to prove that the charitable hospital is still needed in their geographical area — ‘needed’ as defined by Obamacare and overseen by IRS bureaucrats,” said John Kartch, spokesman for Americans for Tax Reform.
yeah, they care; about money and about control.

Speaking of which,
Federal officials have a secret list of 11 Obamacare health insurance co-ops they fear are on the verge of failure, but they refuse to disclose them to the public or to Congress, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has learned.

Just in the last three weeks, five of the original 24 Obamacare co-ops announced plans to close, bringing the total of failures to nine barely two years after their launch with $2 billion in start-up capital from the taxpayers under the Affordable Care Act.
Freaking wonderful, isn't it?
Aaron Albright, chief CMS spokesman, said 11 co-ops “are either on a corrective action plan or enhanced oversight. We have not released the letters or names.” He gave no grounds for withholding the information from either the public or Congress.
I can answer the grounds: "We don't want to, and you can't make us."

Okay...
Crippling blizzards, snowstorms and sub-zero temperatures threaten a yearly dose of Arctic misery for the next FIFTY YEARS at least - and possibly decades more.

Climate experts warn a rare pattern of water cooling in the north Atlantic will trigger a chain reaction of events leading to a “fully-blown ice age”.

The say the UK is on alert for a “serious climate situation” with regular winter whiteouts pushing emergency services to the limit.
But don't worry TOO much,
The Met Office-led study claimed that although the effect will be offset by recent global warming, Britain could see some cooler than average winters in years to come.
Y'know, that warming that the satellite data says isn't happening?

MSNBC: "Yes, our reporting is crap, but we care about things!"

Doesn't exactly help the 'religion of peace' thing

Gathered to honour the memory of a crusading editor, some of the biggest names in the news business were told by one of their own that journalists covering the Parramatta murder of Curtis Cheng are being targeted with death threats. So far, his remarks have gone unreported
Gee, I wonder why...
“Some media outlets are receiving direct physical violent death threats, specific threats not to go near Parramatta Mosque, where the 15-year-old went to pray. At one point a senior member of the Daily Telegraph turned up there with two  flak jackets,” Reason  said.
...
The Age had no coverage of Reason’s talk this morning, nor did the Herald Sun, The Australian or ABC, at least according to online searching. Last night’s audience was a galaxy of past and present editors, investigative journalists, star columnists and commentators, and household-word media personalities.
Almost like they don't want to cover this news, isn't it?
“It’s an atmosphere of intimidation and fear. I have never seen anything like it in Sydney in 20 years. In my organization there’s been some serious conversation  on how to cover it, how to approach the story, how to protect ourselves. Some cameramen are worried, some journos worried. I don’t know what’s being done about security at people’s homes.
“We have not talked about it publicly. No reporter has talked or written about it in Sydney.”
And that's part of the problem.  Why aren't they?  Glad you asked:
The media anxiety in Sydney contrasts with the insouciance with which the media deal with organized crime and bikie gangs. Underbelly-style reports are often treated as low-life comedy. Crime groups are aware that killing a journalist would be stunningly bad for business. This was demonstrated when a drug-syndicate hitman killed whistleblower Donald Mackay in Griffith in 1977. Mackay was a furniture retailer, not a journalist, but keen to expose corruption.

By contrast,  the murder of a journalist would be “good for business” in the eyes of hard-line Islamists, even more so than a random slaying. When ISIL beheaded journalists Jim Foley and Steven Sotloff in Syria a year ago, ISIL posted triumphant videos of the acts as a warning to America.
Censorship by fear.  And it's working with most of the media.  Bet you a months pay that a lot of the media weenies there and here, who're spouting lots of "We don't want to feed the atmosphere of Islamophobia" pap, would- if you pinned them down- admit they're really doing it(more like 'NOT doing it, really) because they're scared.  And they're giving the enemy exactly what they want.
