Light bloggage or not, learning never ends

Thus, more data

It's a small data dump for the ladies

No, it wasn't Marines;

in a way it was even better.
Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sacramento State University, was traveling with childhood friends Spencer Stone, an Air Force serviceman from Carmichael, California, and Alek Skarlatos, a National Guardsmen from Roseburg, Oregon, when they heard a gunshot and breaking glass.

From another story:
The 22-year-old National Guardsman from Rosenburg, Oregan, and Mr Stone charged the unidentified 26-year-old man, believed to be of Moroccan origin, down the narrow carriage.

"Then I grabbed the AK (assault rifle), which was at his feet, and started muzzle thumping him in the head with it," Mr Skarlatos added.
...
"In the aftermath, we saw that a man's throat had been split and he was bleeding profusely," Mr Sadler said.

Airman Mr Stone, who was injured himself in the hand during the tussle, performed first aid on the unidentified passenger.

Mr Sadler continued: "Spencer, who has some paramedics training, just clogged up his neck so he wouldn't die. This is all in the midst of Spencer bleeding profusely himself.”
I'm really surprised the dirtbag is still breathing, but having all those indents in his forehead helps.

Yes, it's Friday

Yes, there's data.  Though there may not be a second batch tomorrow; busy, busy

Yeah, I'd have been sure to bring it home too

Damn

What? There might be downsides to all those milllions of black plastic balls

in the water supply?  Who could've imagined...
Not just the color, but
"Black spheres resting in the hot sun will form a thermal blanket speeding evaporation as well as providing a huge amount of new surface area for the hot water to breed bacteria," said Matt MacLeod, founder of the California biotech firm Modern Moon Farms. "Disaster. It’s going to be a bacterial nightmare.”

This will call for popcorn:
Glory Johnson’s request for $20,000 a month in temporary spousal support from Brittney Griner was denied in an Arizona court Thursday.  Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner Jacki Ireland stated that Griner, after only a 28-day marriage to Johnson, is not responsible for any financial support after the annulment. This decision comes on the heels of Johnson’s announcement earlier this week that she is pregnant with twins.
Twins?
Another hearing is scheduled to take place Sept. 23, but before that, the court told the two that mediation needs to take place to deal with community property. Also, the court stated that Johnson could seek child support after the twins are born, even though Griner alleges that she was unaware that Johnson’s in vitro fertilization was successful or that she had undergone treatments.
So, the one should be responsible for child support when she didn't even know the other was getting fertilized?
And, considering some past idiot rulings, I hope the sperm donor is anonymous, or she's likely to be hitting him up for support if the other thing doesn't pan out.

Or maybe even if it does.

Remember that idiot New Yorker article on the troubles with free speech?  FIRE has a response in 12 points.  Here's part of one:
9. "Free-speech advocates typically claim that the value of unfettered expression outweighs any harm it might cause, offering assurances that any such harm will be minimal. But what makes them so sure? ... Some kinds of free speech really can be harmful, and people who want to defend it anyway should be willing to say so."
Free speech advocates do acknowledge that protected speech can hurt feelings. Sometimes, that's the point. FIRE frequently quotes the Supreme Court's decision in Terminiello v. Chicago (1949) for the idea that expression is often crafted to have a significant emotional impact:
Accordingly, a function of free speech under our system of government is to invite dispute. It may indeed best serve its high purpose when it induces a condition of unrest, creates dissatisfaction with conditions as they are, or even stirs people to anger. Speech is often provocative and challenging. It may strike at prejudices and preconceptions and have profound unsettling effects as it presses for acceptance of an idea.

Well done, Marines.

Except that the suspect is still wasting oxygen, but we can't have everything.
A group of unarmed US Marines on board a high-speed train between Amsterdam and Paris foiled a terrorist attack after a gunman opened fire with an assault rifle, wounding three people.

The 26-year-old Moroccan national, who was known to security services, came out of the toilet brandishing the gun and opened fire. Fortunately, two US Marines were nearby and overpowered him before he could massacre passengers.
...
Unfortunately, one of the Marines was shot and is believed to be in a critical condition.

This needs trying out

A reloading kit for .22lr.

Dammit, I need to win a lottery.

Ah, if I had the space, a smokehouse would be nice.

What the hell is wrong with these people?  "Oooh, I'll roll down the window for a really good loo-AHHHHHHHH!"

Isn't it just so interesting that there are all these hard-core marxists who make really good money teaching how bad the US is and how wonderful communism is?

"We're from the EPA and we're here to help!  Just ignore the oil in the water and shut up."

Borrowing from the words of Chief Deputy Mullen,

"This isn't just bullshit, Raylan; this is distilled, classic State Department bullshit, it's a whole 'nother bouquet."

We're supposed to believe State doesn't keep serial numbers, and track of issued equipment?  Especially, say, Blackberries issued to aides to the Secretary?  And they don't KNOW what happened to them?

Bullshit.

This is friends of Hillary(in particular) and the Democrats(in general) hiding information- and stuff- and defying court orders.  People need to go to jail for this crap.

How big a betrayer is Obama? And Kerry, and Pelosi?

This big:
Iran, in an unusual arrangement, will be allowed to use its own experts to inspect a site it allegedly used to develop nuclear arms under a secret agreement with the U.N. agency that normally carries out such work, according to a document seen by The Associated Press.
We're back to the question "If Obama HAD set out to destroy this country, just what would he have done differently?"

Snork... hehehehehe...

Prematurely sporting a stylized, straight-out-of-Leavenworth, shock-orange jumpsuit, and carrying the disgusted air of a woman who has just been told that the scullery maid has pilfered the most valuable candlestick, Hillary Clinton yesterday took to a Las Vegas gymnasium to indulge in some choice verbal acrobatics.
That part's funny; this is definitely not:
You will presumably have noticed the peculiarly asymmetrical phrasing of Clinton’s answer: “I did not send classified material and I did not receive any material that was marked or designated ‘classified.’” That’s deliberate. In order to have any chance at avoiding liability under 18 USC 1924, Clinton needs not only to have refrained from actively sending or copying e-mails that contained classified information, but also to have been blissfully unaware that she had been receiving them in the first instance.
...Far from representing a confident dismissal of the accusations, Clinton’s careful parsing is a sign that she’s holding on to a fig leaf.
Put bluntly: if the EffingBI doesn't go after this all the way, in every way, same as they would some staffer at an intelligence or military unit who mishandled data of this type, they completely flush their credibility as a LE agency.  I hope they really understand that.

More on this from Ace.

One more reason to tell Jeb Bush to piss off.

Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush said Tuesday that the government should have broad surveillance powers of Americans and private technology firms should cooperate better with intelligence agencies to help combat "evildoers."
Yeah.  Because the NSA illegally recording, well, everything is no problem.  So we should shut up about it.  And companies should stop making it harder for the .gov to read our mail and such.  Because evildoers.

Also, us peasants wanting our southern border actually enforced are dumb.  And a fence is a silly idea.  Etc.

Wonder if dipshit realizes that, for a bunch of people, he's moving himself into 'evildoer' territory?

From the land of the EUnuchs,
“Brutal and ruthless” Muslim, and “violent” Roma gypsy gangs are terrorising the streets of dozens of major European cities, as they vie for control of lucrative black market trade.

Running drug rings and pimping prostitutes, as well as owning legitimate street businesses can be worth tens of millions of euros a year – and more – to the immigrant criminal gangs of Europe. Having influence over territory is key to making this business model work, and as well as fighting each other the vast ethnic gangs are also fighting themselves, as influential families compete.
...
Reports indicate that much of the infighting between the Roma gangs are over the ownership of women, while the Arabs are much more profit-motivated. Even in areas where gypsies have seized control of the prostitution rackets, they are still forced to pay protection money to the Muslims who rule the city, reports the Berliner Kurier.

Focus.de reports a theme often repeated in relation to these gangs, that they are ruthless, violent and exist entirely independently of national law. Running whole neighbourhoods of Germany’s largest cities, the Arab gangs operate their own parallel legal system, where the punishment for treason is death.
Mind you, from some bits & pieces I've read from places like Dearbornistan, parts of our country aren't far behind.

More wonders from our education system:
Altham describes the pressure under which the College Board places her to discard her teaching techniques and the deeply-held beliefs that animate them, or risk her students’ performance on the exam. Her critique extends to the new AP European History framework which, she says, presents religion as something to evolve away from, presenting a Thomist point of view as immature in comparison to a skeptical secularism.

Anderson provides a look inside the College Board’s training program for AP U.S. History teachers which, he says, exalts Howard Zinn’s Marxist take on American history and primes teachers to blame America for the problems of the world, while overlooking its influence for the good.
So they're pushing the views of a communist who hated the US and wanted to help destroy it.  Wonderful.

Yep.  Hillary handed a server full of classified and otherwise "You do NOT want other countries reading this stuff" data to a company with no clearance to handle such, and no security system of the type needed.  Friggin' wonderful.

If the company knew they were being handed a server with such hot data on it, rhat makes them complicit in the violations of a bunch of laws.  Or, say they're honest.  They're blue-dog Democrats, and when one of their heroes says "I want you to take care of my server, and do some things with it", they just accepted it as that.  Which would mean when they started hearing about possible classified data, etc., they must've gotten real nervous, and started wondering what the hell they'd gotten into.  If the EffingBI actually does their job(not a given), we'll find out which it is.

And I still wonder about something: the company, when they handed the server to the FBI, said it had been wiped 'after the data was migrated to another server'.  THAT should've resulted in a phone call, resulting in someone delivering a warrant saying "Give us THAT server, and any storage media connected to it, and we want to know who handled it, who had ANY access to it', and so on.  I'm wondering if that happened.

Sen. Feinstein really is a nasty little Stalin wannabe

who hates the 1st as much as she does the 2nd Amendment.
But, no matter, Feinstein continues to insist that these publications are illegal and should be wiped from the internet. And, now, suddenly, she's afraid that net neutrality will block her from getting her wish of unconstitutionally banning books from the internet. Which makes her wrong on multiple levels.

Short version: she lied her ass off about 'no classified e-mails', she's still lying, and if someone other than a rich & connected politician had done this they'd probably be in a cell already.

"White feminists are sucking the air away from colored feminists, and they need to shut up.  Because their experiences are NOTHING compared to ours!"  Etc.
"We're bigger victims than you are!" is the argument that is supposed to trump all among social justice bullies.

After all the crap(we know about so far), Hillary Clinton still gets special treatment,

and a Marine trying to save lives gets this.

Yeah, he screwed up; he immediately reported HIMSELF and made no excuses.  But unless the outcry is too loud, he'll get screwed.  While most of Congress and the EffingBI and DoJ play games to prevent Clinton and minions being held fully responsible for what they've done.

What you get when a country is taken over by gun bigots and hoplophobes and other progressive morons:
The question at issue asks, “Are there any legal self defence products that I can buy?” Succinctly epitomizing the sad state of natural rights in Great Britain, the first sentence states, “The only fully legal self defence product at the moment is a rape alarm.”
They do allow the commoners to buy something to mark their attacker with dye, but
The site is so concerned with the well-being of violent criminals, that in the context of dye sprays, it states,“be aware that even a seemingly safe product, deliberately aimed and sprayed in someone’s eyes, would become an offensive weapon because it would be used in a way that was intended to cause injury.”
So if someone is trying to beat you to death/slice you up/strangle you, and you accidentally spray them in the eyes while trying to mark them so the cops might later find your murderer, you're probably going to wind up in jail.  Assuming you survive the attack.

A thousand generations of English and Scots and every other bunch on those islands are screaming from their graves...

Another reason the EPA should be disbanded.  And some of the prosecuted.
At this point, considering some of the other crap they've done, it really wouldn't surprise me if they intended a small spill so they could start demanding Superfund status.  Which would let them shut down mining and whatever else they didn't like in the area.  But it got away from them.

Speaking with NPR over the weekend, McCarthy, in response to being asked about how the agency would respond to such a situation if a private company were at fault, said “we are holding ourselves to a higher standard than we would hold other responsible parties.”
McCarthy, you're a damned liar.

Haven't finished the piece yet, but interesting.  And I'm going to have to head to Youtube and check out Gunsmith Cats

And, just because,

From those miserable hypocrites at the CSGV

How many times have they called people protecting the 2nd Amendment traitors?  Insurrectionists?  Enemies?  Everything else they can think of?

They've called for us to be put into camps, and talked about how wonderful it would be to see us all killed.  And they put this up?

Rule: If, so you can feel virtuous about 'green energy', you have to screw the public

paying subsidies for your bird choppers, THEY'RE NOT WORTH HAVING.
Unfortunately, Danish electricity bills have been almost as dramatically affected as the Danish landscape. Thanks in part to the windfarm subsidies, Danes pay some of Europe's highest energy tariffs – on average, more than twice those in Britain. Under public pressure, Denmark's ruling Left Party is curbing the handouts to the wind industry.
Ignore everything else: if the damn things can't even come close to paying for themselves, they're not worth it.

"But if you exclude the piles of dead bodies, the National Socialists had some really good ideas!"
Yeah, and the Soviet Union got rid of the czar, so stop fixating on the gulags and death camps and such.

Many of our problems derive from black elites feeding off the guilt of compatriot white elites of a like class in a similar landscape, who claim to speak for all whites, as if they shared something when in fact they share nothing much at all. I suspect that more white males feel an affinity, a stronger one based on shared ideas, with Ben Carson than any affinity on the basis of race with Hillary Clinton or John Kerry.
Right on that.  Add in that a bunch of the clowns yelling 'RACISM!!' at every opportunity insult people like Carson as not being 'really black' and such because he doesn't have the Approved Views, and it just gets worse.
