What's missing from this description? Updated

Police described the suspect as a man believed to be between 20 and 25 years old and stands about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall. He was wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts and driving a red or maroon pickup-style truck with an extended cab.
Might it be that there's no mention of, let us say, shade?  Hue?  Skin color?  Wouldn't you think that would be important in the description of a murder suspect?

CNN says in custody.   Update: no, he's not as of Saturday afternoon.

Gee, makes you wonder if there might some connection, doesn't it?

Couple of years ago, in Australia, there was a lot of yelling when the media began, when reporting descriptions of people the police were looking for, leaving out the race.  It was pointed out that that could be a fairly critical thing, and they insisted that it was somewhat racist to mention such a matter.  Which caused them to be called the PC-brained idiots they were.  Can't remember if they started showing some sense, or if they stuck with it.
