I shall now drag myself out of the heat

and look at the news.
Blah.

Well, screw the news, here's an interesting variation on corn bread.  Though I think I'd skip the broccoli and cottage cheese.

Why 'blah' on news?  because a big part of it is variations on 'The Most Transparent Administration Ever!' hiding information and ignoring court orders and otherwise acting like the little Stalins they really want to be.

And chickenshits like Schumer pretending they have ethics.

So screw it.  How about books?
Death from the Skies!  Gamma ray bursts, supernova, and other end-of-the-world stuff explained so you don't need a degree in astrophysics to understand it.  First book I'd found that actually explained just WHY and how a star goes supernova.

The Science and Wonders of the Atmosphere.  Recommended to me as a really good book on meteorology.  Out of print, and a few decades old, it's not up on newer forecasting stuff; for a lot of the basics, I was told you can't find a better book.  I'm slowly working my way through it.

This place is a mess, and I'm now going to attempt to do something about it.  So I leave you with these:

Hm. Mentions of bread remind me of how I tried Brigid's beer bread recipe this past Friday. It didn't turn out inedible, but it's a little... spongy? No, it's not moist or anything. It seems more like cornbread than anything else. Not sure if this is due to operator error (I'm not a very experienced cook) or the fact I used a bottle of Sam Adams Summer Ale for the beer.

The Hellboy 'vintage' poster is kind of amusing. It's hard to see anyone as Hellboy but Ron Perlman, but I admit Bogie would be rather interesting.

I've tried a similar recipe, going to have to give this one a shot. Once the temps have cooled of a bit; I hate heating the house up with the oven right now.
