Having spent the day learning some of the Art and Science

of the Garage Door Opener, and bead-blasting some stuff, I need to relax with some more leisurely research.
Ladies, no time today to find something for you, I promise I'll try tomorrow

"Give us our lynching, or else!"

Wonder if these dipshits have any idea how much they sound like the Klan a few decades ago?

And yeah, the more fools like this threaten mob violence, the more people are going to decide to pick up some armor.  Whether the politicians like it or not.

On to the subject of journalists so pig-ignorant they put up crap like this
reported it as 'news'.

Teachers use a girl as bait to 'catch him in the act'.  Screw it up, girl gets raped.
Several months after the incident, principal Blair told Al.com: "It's a sad situation. At the same time, I feel very comfortable with the way the situation was handled. That's about all I can say."
And I'm surprised you could choke that shit out of your mouth, you miserable little bastard.
Yes, at this point I have to agree with Insty, sending your kids to public school is child abuse.

Yes, it's time to distract from the elbow

and other concerns.  Therefore, new data is below.

And for the ladies, I'll try to have some other data tomorrow; not exactly something I normally look for or store

Tab clearing

Yeah, this judge needs his law license and black robe taken away.

Yes, false rape accusations do happen.  And it's amazing the excuses made for them.

I’m not saying that George W Bush was the Platonic Ideal of a good President.  I’m just saying that Obama has to seriously up his game if he wants to rise to Bush’s level, let alone rise far above.

What, you expected better of Holder?

Liam Neeson will kiss my ass long before I pay for one of his movies.

Oh yeah, sending troops to fight ebola will be wonderful.

'Adults wanting to have sex with children is wonderful and normal.'  And my desire to shoot pedophiles and use them for fertilizer is normal and to be encouraged.
Used to work with a gay guy, and we got started on this subject one day; he was bothered-to-horrified(depending on age) at the way a lot of homosexual guys wanted sex with younger guys.  Sometimes seriously younger.  He'd been married and had two kids before coming out of the closet, and his attitude was 'Someone touches one of my kids, I'll kill them.'  Unfortunately a disgusting number of other people don't feel the same way.  At least about other peoples' kids.

I guess outrage depends on which sex is committing the domestic violence.

And a bunch of Aussies are deciding "Maybe all those gun bans and restrictions aren't that great an idea after all."

Yes, they want the old to die

If not on their own, with assistance.
Emanuel’s push for people to die at 75 is deeply connected to Obamacare, which insists that care be rationed for the elderly – who, presumably, must be encouraged to make the same “mature” decision about death Emanuel has made. Emanuel pushes back against those attempting to lengthen their own lives, castigating them as morally deficient:
...
Emanuel says he will stop having “colonoscopies and other cancer-screening tests.” He wants flu shots stopped for the elderly, as well.

But it’s not enough for Emanuel to feel that way. We all must feel that way, and we must construct policy around that belief. He believes that life-expectancy statistics should be ignored once they move beyond 75 years old. And while he insists that he is not “saying that those who want to live as long as possible are unethical or wrong,” his entire article is premised on that belief. Otherwise, why write it? And given the fact that Emanuel directs the Clinical Bioethics Department at the National Institutes of Health, his opinion carries weight.

Enough weight that the same day Emanuel’s piece published, a 21-member Institute of Medicine panel announced that we need to revamp our end-of-life care. “The current system is geared towards doing more, more, more, and that system by definition is not necessarily consistent with what patients want, and is also more costly,” said David M. Walker, former US comptroller general and chairman of the panel. The panel also encouraged end-of-life conversations with as many elderly folks as possible, and that costs could be slashed by thinking about aging differently.
Here's an idea, you miserable little fascist: off yourself and stop eating resources.  And make your parents stop getting flu shots and treatments and whatnot.  You actually believe us serfs should be forced to this, force your own family to it IF YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN THIS.

Ah, the Pajama Boy haven known as Mother Jones

Where a armed woman, obviously knowing how to use said arm, is 'degraded and objectified'.

Also from Miguel, talking about the 'Not self-defense, teach the offenders not to offend' mentality that's going around,
And we are in the 21st Century, what the hell happened to the Feminist movement? I thought that the original concept was to empower women to be equal to a man when the challenge came. But now what we have is a culture of purposely weaklings that make June Cleaver look like an MMA fighter packing a recoilless rifle.

I wonder how this'll be spun as 'no bit problem', or blamed on Assad

At least 14 soldiers of the Islamic State were killed near Baghdad when a warhead that they had been filling with chlorine gas exploded on them.

Iraqi security officers said the attack took place in the city of al-Dhuluiya, which is about 90 km north of Baghdad.

The town was also the spot where four soldiers of the Iraqi security forces were killed by inhaling chlorine gas.
So what happens to "We will count on Arab troops to do the ground fighting" when the embassy or something gets hit with a chemical weapon?

Apparently The Lightbringer thinks the Pres. Johnson method

was something to emulate, rather than avoid.  Probably because he doesn't want to outright win, either.
“The U.S. military campaign against Islamic militants in Syria is being designed to allow President Obama to exert a high degree of personal control over the campaign, going so far as to require that the military obtain presidential sign-off for any strike in Syrian territory,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
How many lost opportunities, how many lost lives, while Obama plays "I'm a better general than my generals!" ?

And I do believe this is correct:
Let’s be honest: No effort can be successful if the Commander-in-Chief is unwilling to even define victory. This semantic murkiness is intentional, since it provides maximum political cover for the poll-watching president. Obama can declare that we “degraded” the terrorist threat with a single air strike or a thousand.
...
Obama does not want to win his new Iraq war. He can’t afford to. If the projection of American military power successfully solved the problem of Islamic terrorism, it would shatter Obama’s entire worldview.
And the 'pretend we're doing something' has worked well with Democrats and communists so far: pretend nothing can be done about Fast & Furious, about Holder breaking the law, about the IRS, about whichever else until 'the internal/DoJ/whatever investigation is done', said investigation being nothing more than 'delay until we can declare everyone innocent.'

Which brings me to this piece of information which should've been on every news broadcast:
Tonight, Rep. Chaffetz told Megyn Kelly there were four terrorists arrested crossing the US border in Texas on September 10.
There were actually four individuals trying to cross through the Texas border, who were apprehended at two different stations, that do have ties to known terrorist organizations in the Middle East.
And from the head of DHS, who is the newest version of Sgt. Schultz?
Rep. Chaffetz, who serves on the homeland security panel’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, clarified that he was referring to whether known terrorists, suspected terrorists, or individuals with ties to terrorist organizations have been arrested trying to come into the country illegally.

“Sitting here right now, no specific case comes to mind,” responded Johnson. “That doesn’t mean there is none.”

One of these clowns who's already made it across or will, is going to make an attempt- or quite possibly succeed- in doing something horrendous, and Obamas' first reaction is going to be to try to use it to restrict us further; probably something on the lines of "We must control these weapons" bullshit.  Because that's more important to him than actually STOPPING TERRORISTS.

What the bloody effing HELL

did these idiots just do?  They passed a 'let's arm the moderate(snork) Syrian rebels to fight ISIS' bill. Which includes this
But the bill would not prohibit people with links to terrorist groups from actually participating in the program, the aide said. Such a blanket prohibition could make it tougher to recruit people.
The aide said this language is intended to provide congressional oversight without hindering the mission.
....  Excuse my language, but Fucking Gods-damned MORONS.

Be it said that a few of them actually ask questions, thus making Lurch a very unhappy incompetent.  And still as arrogant as ever.  "I won't tell you now, but I will tell you sometime.  I'm sure."   And him actually being questioned caused Ma'am Boxer to get a case of the vapors.

So this assemblage of (largely)chickenshits just authorized Obama to start giving weapons and training to people who're in many cases PART OF THE DAMNED ENEMY.  Which means at some point US airmen or ground troops or another embassy will get the ammunition returned via the loud end.

Oh, great, my Rep. voted for this idiocy.  Effing wonderful, it is.

Ah, institutions of higher learning...

The other day:
Clemson University is requiring students to reveal how many times they’ve had sex in the past month and with how many partners.

"They’re upset. They’re paying this astronomical tuition to come here, and they’re talking to their parents about these questions, and their parents are getting upset about having to spend this kind of money at Clemson where their students are being asked these kinds of questions."

In screenshots obtained exclusively by Campus Reform, the South Carolina university is asking students invasive and personal questions about their drinking habits and sex life as part of what they’ve billed as an online Title IX training course.

Today:
“Required Title IX online training has been suspended pending elimination of certain questions that were associated with a training module provided by a third-party vendor,” the email, sent at 11:42 p.m., said. “Clemson University will eliminate these questions. We apologize for any concern and inconvenience this has caused.”
"We're still going to do this, but we'll get rid of some of the worst questions, ok?"
This is what people are paying thousands for.

And one of the finest products of this higher education, Fauxcahontas, came out with this:
Eva Moseley, I’m not a student, I’m not an alumnae, but was in faculty life. I was also a Holocaust refugee and I’m extremely concerned that Jews don’t do to another people what was done to them.
This received thunderous applause, in the midst of which Warren responded, “I think that’s fair.” You have to see the clip to fully appreciate the exchange:
No wonder she's such a bigshot with the leftists.

The autocrats in Sodom on the Potomac came up with a concealed-carry law; it's about what you'd expect:
Lott said politicians in Washington, D.C., are considering passing a “may issue” concealed carry law that would come with a laundry list of restrictions and the final decision on issuing concealed carry permits would be “arbitrary” and left to government officials.
"We'll pass something we hope gets the court off our backs, but still lets us keep the peasants from carrying a gun."

So the land of Robert Bruce

and William Wallace has become a bunch of socialist hoplophobes
Patrick Harvie, Green MSP, said: "The police do need to deploy firearms in response to serious incidents, but the sight of armed police on our streets while carrying out routine duties has alarmed many Scots and we deserve to know why it happened and why our communities were not consulted.
Jesus H. on a frikkin' pogo stick, they're 'alarmed'...

Also, I must note: they still have as their Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill, the miserable little bastard who released the Lockerbie bomber on 'compassionate grounds'.  Y'know, if they're so fucking stupid and corrupt that they've still got him in that office, screw 'em.  Let the place go its own way, and after it implodes maybe some of the survivors- hopefully wiser- can rebuild the place.

I am SO damned glad that some of my ancestors got the hell out of that place.

Well, at least DPMS replied

Sent to both Bushmaster and Aero Precision asking if they thought opening up a .308 boltface sufficiently to fit .30-30 would be a problem; apparently they just ignore questions they don't want to answer.

Son had an idea on magazines: put a guide internally on each side to make it a single-stack, feed lips modified appropriately.  That's a definite possibility.

I'm going to have to start making a list of parts and see just what it would cost to build.  Or start looking for a used or new AR-10 and see if that'd be cheaper than building from scratch, then add barrel, bolt and mags for the new cartridge.  Although in this case it'd be 'modify the bolt'.  Another idea from son: if get a complete AR, shorten the barrel to suitable length to change to a carbine-length gas tube and rechamber it.

I need to make a list.  After I hit the grocery store and library.  Speaking of, just finished Ancient Encounters, about Kennewick Man.  Interesting read.  Reading this, well, I remembered the Corps of Engineers not exactly covering itself with glory in its integrity, the information I hadn't seen before makes that even worse.  And some of the tribes need to be told to piss off when they try to claim remains that far predate their existence in an area.  And have much-different racial characteristics.

Oh, of course there's no problem or threat!

I mean, it's not like Afghan cops and troops have been shooting our guys in the back or someth- ah, bad example...
On Saturday afternoon, a bus carrying 31 police officers from Afghanistan drove from the DEA’s Quantico, Va. facilities to Georgetown. DEA spokesman Rusty Pain said the group members—undergoing intense training—were driven to Georgetown to enjoy themselves. When it came time to get back on the bus, 22-year-old Mohammad Yasin Ataye and 24-year-old Mohd Naweed Samimi were missing.
Pain insists each member of the group has been vetted and polygraphed. However, given the war in Afghanistan and threats, D.C. tourists and locals alike expressed concern over the pair’s disappearance.
No shit?

Under the heading of "So stop putting on your gods-damned ninja suits and trying to jump through windows UNLESS IT'S ACTUALLY CALLED FOR!  You'll have a much lesser chance of getting shot, and it'll actually improve your standing with the community.

The level of idiocy in this...  They could've waited for him to come out and served the warrant.  They could've waited until he got in the car and then done it.  Instead "We have to do this for officer safety", and now one's dead, a couple wounded, and no drugs found.  Great work, guys.

One of the possible side-effects of self-defense:

scumbag family of deceased scumbag threatening you.
Turn it over to the cops.  And stay armed.

Damn.  I'd not heard of these guys either.  The 21 Sikhs of Saragarhi.

The good thing in this:
"The facts of this case—when viewed in the light most favorable to the plaintiffs—adequately establish that the 'inspection' of Strictly Skillz amounted to an unconstitutional search," the court says, "and that the unconstitutionality of such a search was clearly established at the time that the search was executed." Hence a federal judge was right to rule that Vidler and Deputy Travis Leslie do notdeserve qualified immunity.
The bad things: that these idiots, and the idiots who went with them on these raids, actually thought this was a good idea.

Personally, I'd also suggest going after their supervisors, too; this was an ongoing bullshit operation, and their bosses had to know what was going on and approve of it.

A Democrat mayor and a NPR 'reporter' who lie about guns;

surprise?  Elle Moxley, one more properly described as 'journalist' because she's a sorry excuse for a reporter.
“‘Guns are more readily available than fresh food,’says @MayorSlyJames,” Moxley told her followers. “Wants lawmakers to focus on jobs, not gun legislation like SB 656.”

Noting other tweets where she repeats more fraudulent noise-making by James, that if open carry by permit holders is approved, “dine and dash” incidents will increase,” and that not infringing on the right to keep and bear arms is “overboard” to “the point of insanity,” it’s clear where Moxley’s sympathies lie, and what she perceives her “profession of journalism” duties to be. As an aside, it’s curious which side “dine and dash” advocacy actually comes from, but “progressive” projection and Opposite Day realities are hardly surprising to regulars at my WarOnGuns blog.

On the other side, we have some rabbis saying "Disarm?  Are you nuts?"
“Jewish history supports self-defense,” the rabbis declared. “It is remarkable that the RCA and OU have ignored the long Jewish history of persecution.
“We have a duty of self-defense under Jewish Law,” the rabbis argued. “The Torah recognizes armed self-defense as a requirement for a free people ... the Tanach praises self-defense [and] Channukah celebrates self-defense. [The RCA and OU should] reconsider their prior positions, and instead encourage Jews to remain ready, vigilant, and armed.

Reason #I'velosttrack why to get rid of the EPA: They're a bunch of corrupt bastards.
The Energy & Environment Legal Institute (E&E Legal) released a report today revealing and piecing together dozens of emails obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which lay out in detail EPA’s collusion with senior activists within environmentalist pressure groups, and proving the real thinking about the intent behind and impact of EPA’s “climate” regulations.

Far from the required recusing to avoid the appearance of a conflict, EPA filled its senior political ranks with green pressure group activists, continuing their life’s work and coordinating with former colleagues from their new positions in government. These emails show the groups sharing jokes about EPA assurances that it isn’t waging a war on coal, and gloating about the courts serially siding with EPA as it rewrites federal environmental law. More important, they show the special role and undue influence these relationships provided, the very sort of influence the Obama Administration once disavowed.
...
The emails discussed in the report demonstrate how Coequyt supplied research and advocacy materials directly to individual activists within EPA, even helping EPA keep a score for “internal use” of coal plants to shut down. He advised EPA officials to ensure “zombie” coal plants, i.e. plants that had been planned and may one day be built, remain shelved avoided creating complete logs of their interactions through various means, including, e.g., meeting with Goo at the nearby Marriott Hotel near the EPA headquarters (circumventing detailing their discussions in EPA’s visitor logs, where people most logically would look), and when he was otherwise in the building including for numerous meetings with senior officials Goo facilitated had such a direct pipeline into the Agency that when he was on vacation his Sierra Club team would plead with EPA friends for updates.

Court decides against BATFEIEIO in Dobyns case

“[T]he court finds that defendant did not breach the Settlement Agreement, but did breach the covenant of good faith and fair dealing,” Senior Judge Francis M. Allegra noted, characterizing Dobyns’ ordeal as “Kafkaesque” with no-nonsense candor revealing he is not at all pleased with government conduct. “Based on the breach of the covenant, the court finds that plaintiff is entitled to damages in the amount of $173,000. The court further finds that defendant is not entitled to recover anything with respect to its counterclaim.”

“I have been vindicated,” Dobyns affirmed in his news release. “Today, Judge Allegra describes ATF as an agency with ‘organizational weaknesses, the inability of agency officials to supervise and control, and of demonstrated misfeasance – all rooted in the sorry failure of some ATF officials.’

Translation from DHS-speak:

"This is about to blow up on us, get rid of him!"
“Mohamed wants to pretend that he’s moving on to bigger and better things,” Poole said. “But it’s clear that Homeland Security threw him under the bus, and he’s going back to [his home state of] Texas with his tail between his legs.”
...
However, documents obtained by Judicial Watch under the Freedom of Information Act contradict DHS’s claims and indicate that a proper investigation into Elibiary’s actions never even took place.
“We conducted a comprehensive search of files within the DHS Enterprise Correspondence Tracking System (ECT) for records that would be responsive to your request. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate or identify any responsive records,” DHS informed Judicial Watch in a Sept. 16, 2013, letter.
DHS could find not “investigative records regarding the alleged mishandling and any records of communication between any official, employee, or representative of the Department of Homeland Security and any member of Congress, congressional staff member, congressional committee, and/or congressional committee staff member regarding the alleged mishandling,” it said in the letter.
The fact that this guy got the position in the first place is a black mark on DHS; that they covered up their failure to investigate this mess until now is worse.  No excuse possible.

Speaking of this kind of person, it's nice when the terrorist and genocide supporters tell you what they are, isn't it?

Ah, Robert Peel would be so proud

of what the British cop has become...
A victim of Rotherham's child sex abuse scandal confronted a man she says groomed her - but was left shocked when she was the one arrested.
They can't do anything about all the rapes and so forth, but by MARX! this bitch can't be allowed to offend PC sensitivities by confronting her rapist!
'The woman was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences.'

Then one of these dumbasses with badges realized
South Yorkshire Police told today how they had been hoping to interview the woman in the weeks before the arrest, after they were told of the historic allegations by another organisation.

But they only realised that she was the woman they had been trying to speak to after her arrest, and have now released her on bail.
A: For some reason she was 'reluctant to talk to police'.  Gee, I wonder why?
B: 'had been trying to speak to'  Really?  How hard had they been trying?

Peel must be spinning in his grave.  And wishing he could go Jesus-in-the-temple in a lot of police headquarters.

This puts a definite crimp in my shooting

Mentioned the other day a messed-up elbow.  Going to take a bit to get to a orthopedist, and until then not much can do about it.  Rifles aren't bad, but handguns... so I'm getting more left-handed practice.

And I don't have a left-handed holster.  Yes, I can shoot right-handed, but there's the possibility I'll require some surgery on the elbow, in which case it'll be left-hand-only for a while.  So will have to look around for something.

In the meantime:
Milwaukee PD catches officers lying about what they saw, and conducting illegal strip-searches.  But Prosecutors and the Milwaukee Police Department concluded there wasn't enough evidence to convict any of the officers, even though the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes numerous contradictions in video, police reports, sworn testimony and reports made by internal affairs.  Of course.

So now a bunch of people are suing, and going to win, and you've just demonstrated that proof that officers lied on sworn statements and so forth 'isn't enough to convict, so we're not doing anything'.  Well Done, Milwaukee PD and prosecutors!  You've just demonstrated special treatment for cops, trashed trust in yourselves, and you're going to cost the taxpayers a fortune!

Another piece on the theft under color of law that is asset forfeiture.  Open corruption in order to raise money.  And some of these cops... from the sound of it, they either became corrupted or should never have been handed a badge in the first place.

Yeah, this'll get him called names again.
The forensic examinations of their lives rarely reveal anything of significance. The extensive digging into the lives of the Boston bombers told us nothing about why they would plant a bomb near a little boy.

The answer lay in the topic that the media carefully avoided. As with the other Muslim terrorists, the meaning of their motives was in the little black book of their religion which commanded them to kill
.

Misandrists like Amanda Marcotte and others lament that domestic violence is always a man’s problem. No, it is not. It is so much deeper than that and pretending that only men can stop domestic violence is foolish and adds to the problem.
But it's the Preferred Narrative™, and that's what the major media will keep pushing.

Apparently a celebrity scientist has been saying some questionable things.  Considering he's a globular-warmenist hero of the believers, this should get interesting.

Oh, I need to send this to some people:
Ah, there’s nothing like a primitive, quarrel-torn, disastrous Third World country. And Scotland has everything it needs to be what old-school foreign correspondents fondly call a “shit-hole.”

Plus Scotland is conveniently located for aging journos like myself. It can be “covered” from the comforts of The Ritz in London, and there will be plenty of unemployed Scottish unionist refugees hanging around waiting to be hired as drivers and translators.

Scotland’s economy will be the requisite Third World shambles. Scotland’s two dominant political parties are the leftist Scottish National Party and the leftist Scottish Labor Party. These can be counted on to vie in out-lefting each other. Cuba-with-chilblains, here we come!

"Free speech(unless you say something non-PC or have conservative views, you pig)!"

Bacon report

When last we left this experiment, I'd just pulled this
off the grill from smoking, and had cut a couple of slices to fry and taste.

Yum.  Light hickory aroma while frying, good flavor, and actually chewy without being tough.  Oh yeah, I'm going to do this again, it kicks the ass of just about every bacon I've bought from a store.

Method I followed is here(some folks couldn't get to it before, so this is a tiny).  Very simple, and lots of room for experimenting.  Salts, pepper, herbs, different woods.  I had this in the refrigerator curing for four days.  For smoking used my old charcoal grill: make the fire on one side, put the meat on the other.  And wrap the soaked axe handle chips in foil with a couple of cuts to let the smoke out.

You may now thank me for taking the ginormous risk of making bacon at home.  You're welcome.

Yeah, about that 'mystery' of the nasty virus going around,

I'm not the only one who'd wondered about a connection.  Now I read this:
This is basically the same virus commonly seen in the equatorial Americas and South America. The very odd emergence of this virus at this time – especially just prior to the new school year and now fueled by the congregation of children in schools – demands an explanation. The only plausible one is that this has been brought here from south of the – now non-existent – border.

Although there will be a good deal of epidemiological work to be done before this can be scientifically associated, there is a deafening silence on the part of public health officials and the mainstream media in even speculating about this association. This is not simply a case of being politically selective about the news, it is downright dangerous and could be just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the emergence of diseases long absent from daily life in America now suddenly popping up “inexplicably.” By the way the article from the Journal that I cited [linked above] likely represents gross underreporting which is typical in South America.
Now the questions become "How long does the major media just not report on it?  And when they finally do, how will they twist this around to avoid mentioning lots of illegal alien kids and adults bringing this stuff in?  Or blaming it on us for not being sufficiently (fill in the blank)?"

The NYEffingTimes tells the truth

About thirty years late.
It was much the same in the early 1990s when Democrats created and then banned a category of guns they called “assault weapons.”
...
This politically defined category of guns — a selection of rifles, shotguns and handguns with “military-style” features — only figured in about 2 percent of gun crimes nationwide before the ban.
But 'Assault Weapons!'  And even the NYEffingTimes admits the truth:
The policy proved costly. Mr. Clinton blamed the ban for Democratic losses in 1994. Crime fell, but when the ban expired, a detailed study found no proof that it had contributed to the decline.
Wonder if someone is getting slapped for admitting these facts, or if they have some motive for letting the truth out?

This is unpossible, as handguns are banned in Britain

Yasser Alromisse, 46, who was born in Egypt, wanted custody of his daughter Mary Ann Shipstone after becoming estranged with his wife Lyndsey.

After shooting his daughter, Alromisse took his own life inside a silver Toyota on the driveway of his ex-wife's home in Northiam, near Rye, East Sussex on Thursday.
