The Thought Crimes Division of the People's Republic of MA

strikes again.  This guy wrote books, fiction, that included- hell, just read this:
Early last week the school board was alerted that one of its eighth grade language arts teachers at Mace's Lane Middle School had several aliases.  Police said that under those names, he wrote two fictional books about the largest school shooting in the country's history set in the future.  Now, Patrick McLaw is placed on leave.
...
Phillips said McLaw was taken in for an emergency medical evaluation. The sheriff would not disclose where McLaw is now, but he did say that he is not on the Eastern Shore. The same day that McLaw was taken in for an evaluation, police swept Mace's Lane Middle School for bombs and guns, coming up empty.

Dorchester County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Henry Wagner said the Dorchester County Board of Education has taken its own action.

"We have advised our community that the gentleman has been placed on administrative leave, and has been prohibited from entering any Dorchester County public school property," Wagner said.
Sue the bastards.  For everything your lawyer can come up with.  Then throw in a few more things.  The idiot school brass and the cops both.  This is such a level of bullshit it's hard to believe even for the PROM.

Added: It was pointed out by Skidmark that this is the PRO Maryland, not Massachusetts, but I'm willing to accept it as a typo as long as we can stipulate that both places have the suck.  They do indeed; I need to change it to PROM and PROMD to differentiate between them.

Although why bother?  As he notes, they're both progressive holes of suck and fail.  But still, we should be precise as to which hole we refer.

The Other Gun Control

This is one front that Gun Control Advocates outside the US have pat down: Making Self-Defense a crime or the closest thing to it. When a government exercises the Monopoly on Killing, it makes sure that not only they control the instruments but also the laws and more important, the mindset of people.
From basically the day you are born you are told that violence is not the answer, that defending yourself is “taking the law in your own hands” and that only criminals do that. So you say, that is nothing new, we have it here also, but there is a big difference between the US and the rest of the uncivilized world: For some reason, Americans decided almost from the very start that such mentality is idiotic and through the years self-defense became what it is: A human right.
And the anti-rights people hate that. HATE it.

Something I remember about the 'It's wrong to use violence no matter what' attitude:
Remember the show Home Improvement?  Youngest kid had been taking karate lessons.  He and middle son were at a store when older and bigger thug decided middle son had offended him and announced he was going to stomp him.  As he started to swing, youngest grabbed the arm, put him in a lock, and booted him into a display, and while he was tangled they left.  Use of minimum force necessary, no bad injuries, well done.

They got home and the mom proceeded to rip on the youngest for 'fighting'.  "You know better!  You shouldn't have done that!", etc.  And the father jumped on the 'disappointed, should have done better' bandwagon.  I was practically screaming at the tv "Really, you morons?  It would've been better for him to stand there while his brother got his face punched in?  Or to have run for help and come back to find him bloody on the floor?  That would be PREFERABLE?"  And I hoped for the rest of the episode someone would bring that up, but oh no!, nobody did.  Or would.  A show that had become "Men suck" couldn't possibly do that.

I wondered afterward what idiot decided that was a good idea, and why.  Then I remembered what that show had become: "How can we make Tim in particular and men in general look stupid and unfeeling, and women look like the long-suffering saints they are this week?"  So of course the idea of a male using defensive violence had to be slammed.  No matter what.

Which brings us to the current topic: So, what is a person to do? Many decide to take the chance and NOT defend themselves to avoid having to deal with the crap mentioned above and put their lives in the hands of the criminal hoping he is in the mood to let you alive after he is done with his business. It is revolting for anybody who exercises (or knows that he can) the right of Self-defense, but that is how most of the world works… and how the Gun Control community wishes it worked in the US.
Remember:
Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

Actually, I think that was the last whole episode of it I watched.  It'd gotten worse and worse, and that was my 'no more'.

Why I have a category of Nutcase-level feminism

Guy says "We need to tell girls going to college that getting shitfaced-drunk at parties is not a good idea", and the 'feminist' legions immediately crap their pants in indignation.

Hell, that's advice I gave son before he went.  But expecting females to have some self-control is apparently victim-blaming or slut-shaming or some other bullshit.

Gentleman named Joe Bethancourt died the other day

Maker of songs he was, lots of stuff over the years.  One of them I ran across a few years ago, 'Me and my .30-06'

Time to study the data

before my eyes cross; I'm tired

A 15-foot 9-inch gator?

A thousand pounds worth?  Damn.

Ok, here's why the Brit government wants the commoners disarmed:

so they don't storm the offices and shoot or hang the bastards who've been running things.
Denis MacShane, MP for Rotherham from 1994 to 2012, actually admitted to the BBC’s World At One that “there was a culture of not wanting to rock the multicultural community boat, if I may put it like that. Perhaps, yes, as a true Guardian reader and liberal Leftie, I suppose I didn’t want to raise that too hard.”
White girls being raped in job lots by muslims, no problem; better to ignore it than rock the fucking multicultural boat, eh?

Equally horrifying is the suggestion that certain Pakistani councillors asked social workers to reveal the addresses of the shelters where some of the abused girls were hiding. The former deputy leader of the council, Jahangir Akhtar, is accused of “ignoring a politically inconvenient truth” by insisting there was not a deep-rooted problem of Pakistani-heritage perpetrators targeting young white girls. The inquiry was told that influential Pakistani councillors acted as “barriers to communication” on grooming issues.
"Who cares if some kafirs are being properly used?  Do you want me to out you as a muslim-hating racist?"  Followed by the sound of the authorities kissing ass.

Shaun Wright, a former Labour councillor who was in charge of Rotherham children’s services during a five-year period when a blind eye was turned to the worst case of mass child abuse in British history, is now South Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
They've been taking lessons from the BATFEIEIO: screw up bigtime but keep your mouth shut about it, you get promoted.

I'm going to stop now.  My giveadamn is just about worn down, and if I keep typing I'll either break keys or suffer serious deterioration of language.

Basically, "You people can get too much stuff!"

...The comments that some are making that police are [becoming] too militarized — the public is becoming militarized in my opinion. There’s pretty high-grade weaponry out there available to the public.”
A: It's SUPPOSED to be available to us, remember?
B: Yeah, WE'RE the ones running around town like we're about to kick doors in Kandahar.  And we're not the ones getting all the M16s and M4s.
The Pentagon data shows the government has transferred nearly 80,000 rifles and 1,718 shotguns to counties throughout the country.

Los Angeles County alone has been the destination for 3,229 M16-A1 rifles and another 87 M14 rifles, while Leon County in Florida, which is home to Tallahassee, received 1,900 M16-A1 rifles and 111 M14 rifles.
And just how much training are they getting in firing those select-fire rifles, I wonder?  Or are we not supposed to worry about that?

And they are learning something a lot of people have asked about: what it takes to maintain that pretty armored vehicle.  And realizing "Y'know, people aren't going to be real happy if we drive this thing around and the tracks tear up the streets."

Autoplay warning on the link.

The next idiot who makes any excuses for ISIL

needs to be horsewhipped.  And handed over to them.
The information on the laptop makes clear that its owner is a Tunisian national named Muhammed S. who joined ISIS in Syria and who studied chemistry and physics at two universities in Tunisia's northeast. Even more disturbing is how he planned to use that education: The ISIS laptop contains a 19-page document in Arabic on how todevelop biological weapons and how to weaponize the bubonic plague from infected animals.
...
The laptop also includes a 26-page fatwa, or Islamic ruling, on the usage of weapons of mass destruction. "If Muslims cannot defeat the kafir [unbelievers] in a different way, it is permissible to use weapons of mass destruction," states the fatwa by Saudi jihadi cleric Nasir al-Fahd, who is currently imprisoned in Saudi Arabia. "Even if it kills all of them and wipes them and their descendants off the face of the Earth."

Don't worry, I'm sure Obamas' non-existent strategy

will appear sometime after the attacks.

And will probably involve banning boomsticks or suspending sales 'for public safety' or something.
Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.
Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source.  “It’s coming very soon,” according to this high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.” An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, another source confirms. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.
This has to have the clowns in Sodom on the Potomac trying to decide what to do: on the one hand, if there's an attack at/across the border they might be able to try to leverage it for some kind of 'for the public safety in this emergency' crap; on the other, if there's anything that'll make a hell of a lot of people yank the congresscritters' chain and scream 'CLOSE THE DAMN BORDER!', this would be it.  Disastrous for the amnesty and open-borders crowd.

Tam found the tiniest pistol-

semi-auto at that- and two of the most elaborately-decorated scatterguns I've ever seen.  Go take a look.

Can you imagine the work to make that tiny thing?  And the ammo?

No, you don't need power tools to make a knife

No question, having a grinder and belt sander and drill press makes it a lot easier and faster, but it can be done without them.  So can polishing without a buffer.  So this is a quick how-to on that.

Things you WILL need
Hacksaw.  And good blades.  General rule is you want to have three teeth across the thickness of the piece, so finer teeth for thinner stock.  This is 1/8", so I'm using 32 teeth-per-inch.  24 tpi would work well, but they were out of them.
Files.  Good ones.  Get a bastard file, preferably 12" or 14".  10" will do, but get longer if you can.  A bastard is generally the coarsest, fastest-cutting file, so use it for most material removal.
File card or wire brush.  File card is a special brush just for cleaning bits of metal out of the file teeth; a stiff wire brush will work pretty well.
Vise.  You NEED a solid vise.  Doesn't have to be huge or a blacksmiths' post vise, just a good-quality one that's solidly bolted down so it won't move.
Clamps.  Something to clamp the blade to a board.  C-clamps work well.
Drill.  You can drill pin or rivet holes with a hand-crank drill; a power drill does make it faster and easier.
Abrasive paper.  Get wet/dry paper, and get good-quality stuff; it'll last longer and cut faster.

Ok, start by taking your steel

and drawing the outline of the knife you want.
In this case I'm using a full-tang style like the kitchen knives; that means the tang is the full width and length of the grip area, you drill pin or rivet holes to help lock the scales in place.  A narrow tang I'll add a picture of later, as I just realized I don't have a shot of one.

Clamp it in the vise, and start making cuts from the edge of the steel to the line you drew

Then start at the end, and start cutting those pieces off along the line.
By making each section short, you can do a pretty good job of breaking a curve down to short straight cuts.  Then do the other side.

Then cut the tang.

No pics of that, use your imagination.

I'll note that making a long cut, like along a straight line for the tang, you may have to clamp the piece so you can hold the hacksaw at a flat angle to make the full cut.

Now adjust the piece so you can start filing the sides down to the line.
Which should give you the profile you want.
There are two ways to file.  The usual is to push the file across the piece, which works well.  For smoothing a long area you want as true(flat & straight) as possible, draw-file: hold one end of the file in each hand, place it at the far end of the piece and draw it toward you.  There's a fine series of videos of the gunsmith at Colonial Williamsburg making a rifle from scratch, and in the second, at the 3:00 mark, it shows them using files to shape the flats on the barrel this way.

Now you need to mark on the sides where you want the transition from ricasso(the area just in front of the guard or end of the cutting area) to edge, and it helps a lot if you mark the edge.  In this case using a square and a scribe* to mark lines.  Adjust the end of the ruler so it's right at the middle, lock it, and draw it along the blade, using the scribe to mark a line.
Then go the other direction and do the same thing.  Or flip the square over.
By doing it on each side, if the scribe isn't EXACTLY centered, you wind up with two lines that outline the actual edge.  Which gives you lines to file to(embigginate to see them)
Now comes the hard part: cutting the bevels, the angles from the back to the edge.

Get a piece of 2x4 or something else solid, clamp it in the vise.  Solidly, you don't want it shifting.  Then clamp the blade to it, with the edge right at the edge of the wood.
so you can file from the edge to the back of the blade.
Most of the time, one clamp won't cut it, so either put another where it'll brace the piece so it can't move,
or drive a nail or screw into the wood so it blocks the blade from moving.  Make sure it's low enough that the file won't hit it.  Then start filing.

I was using a 10" bastard(biggest I had), and spent ten minutes to get to this point
Little difficult to see, but it has actually removed a fair amount of material
Stop every minute or so and use the brush to clean the file; it'll cut faster and getting the bits out will give a cleaner cut, too.
ADDED: I was reminded in comments of something I forgot: chalk.  Rub some chalk on the file before use, it will help keep bits from getting stuck in the teeth.

For actually shaping the blade, that's it.  Keep filing on one side until you've got it down to the line at the edge.  I'd suggest stopping just shy of the line, then draw filing to make sure the surface is flat, or if you're not worried about perfect surfaces then fairly even.  Then flip it over and do the other side.

To polish out the file marks, start with about 80-grit wet/dry paper.  Cut a strip you can wrap around the file, or a finer file if you have one, or you can use the whole sheet if you prefer: wrap it around and as a section gets dulled turn the file over and use the other side.  When it gets dull, tear that section off.

Before you start this, put the paper in water for at least half-an-hour before using it; the water will help float the bits cut off, so they don't clog the paper as fast.  And keep some water handy to dip it in occasionally so flush the filing dust off and keep water on the abrasive.

When you've got that as smooth as you wish, move up to 120-grit or so.  You can take this just as fine as you wish, but I'd suggest stopping at 180 or 220-240 since the heat-treating is still to come.

The rest is as shown in the 'doing it with power tools'(shut up) post: mark and drill the pin holes, heat-treat, then polish.  At that point you can really polish it, but for a working knife I'd suggest no finer than 320 or 400.  Remember that after heat-treating, it'll be harder to work on, so don't get discouraged if it takes longer than you'd thought.

Making the grips, same idea: use a saw to cut to shape, then use rasp and/or file to shape, then sandpaper to finish.

And that's it.

Things do get interesting around the world

From someone who deals with this on a regular basis:
In Most of Africa, and in some other parts of the world, the superstition and mysticism perceived as behind the use and effect of firearms is more prevalent than common sense or science. Most people around here, even the educated ones still believe that firearms kill by some sort of white man’s black magic, some sort of advanced voodoo, or that guns somehow shoot poison to kill victims, or that it is the fire and heat that actually goes out to kill. [Some sort of early Laser – fire thinking?]

Ma Nature: trying to kill you 24/7

An Indian woman armed only with farm tools is stable in hospital after killing a leopard that attacked her.

Kamla Devi, 56, sustained multiple bites, cuts and fractures during the half-hour battle.
Lady, I tip my hat to you.

And from a couple of links in that story,
Forest workers say they have shot dead a tiger blamed for killing seven people in the past six months in western India.

The tiger, described as a "man-eater" by authorities, killed the victims in a forest in Chandrapur in Maharashtra.

This was the third tiger to be shot dead for killing people in the area since 2007, officials said.

And Why are India's tigers killing humans?
Ah, because they're edible, and easier to kill than deer and water buffalo?

And from 2010,
Officials in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh say they have captured a tiger that had killed eight people.

The male tiger was tranquilised and taken to Lucknow Zoo on Thursday evening after a chase lasting several months. Vets are monitoring the animal's behaviour and health.

The tiger claimed his first human in May near the India-Nepal border.

Officials say he was not a typical "man-eater" as he had been killing wild animals as well as humans.
So he was acting more like a leopard, treating people as just one more item on the menu.

We're supposed to believe the IRS can police itself? Really?

A lawyer in the IRS ethics office is facing the possibility of being disbarred, according to records that accuse her of lying to a court-appointed board and hiding what she’d done with money from a settlement that was supposed to go to two medical providers who had treated her client.
Top. People.

And in this corner a Professional Journalist who doesn't want people to hear any side of an argument other than the one he approves of.
So, Kilgore has a solution for this conservative “problem.” He thinks NBC should ban all conservatives as panelists...
If Turness is serious about this, we need to organize a grassroots campaign to ask that certain journalists be permanently banned from the panel of Meet The Press, or we’ll boycott the damn thing ab initio. I’d start with Peggy Noonan, Bill Kristol, David Gergen, David Brooks and George Will. Even at their best, they’ve all gotten more airtime than their shaky talents merit. But I’m sure you have dozens more who deserve the Meet Ban. Fire away in the comment thread.
To the leftists 'freedom of speech' means 'You're free to hear what I want you to.'

Hey, it was only a couple of American children killed, so what's the problem?
Cinthya Garcia-Cisneros, an illegal immigrant who came to the U.S. from Mexico as a child and was shielded from deportation by DACA, was convicted of two counts of felony hit and run after she killed two Forest Grove, Oregon stepsisters — Anna Dieter-Eckerdt and Abigail Robinson ages 6 and 11 respectively — playing in a leaf pile last October.

Last week, as OregonLive.com reported Tuesday, a judge dismissed a deportation case against Garcia-Cisneros and as a result of the ruling, her attorney says she is able to go back under the protections of DACA — meaning she can obtain a work permit and Social Security number.

'PC, no matter how many lives it costs'

The sexual abuse of about 1,400 children at the hands of Asian men went unreported for 16 years because staff feared they would be seen as racist, a report said today.

Children as young as 11 were trafficked, beaten, and raped by large numbers of men between 1997 and 2013 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, the council commissioned review into child protection revealed.

And shockingly, more than a third of the cases were already know to agencies.
Note that 'asian' is the British way of referring to adherents of the Religion of Submission; because they don't have the balls to say 'muslim' in connection with crimes.

Hell, they can't even say it in the article:
The lack of reports was partly down to a fear of being racist, Prof Jay wrote, as the majority of the perpetrators were described as 'Asian men', and many were said to be of Pakistani origin.
The cops were useless; they bastards knew but would rather let it happen than risk the Minions of PC call them names:
The failures happened despite three reports between 2002 and 2006 'which could not have been clearer in the description of the situation in Rotherham'.

Prof Jay said the first of these reports was 'effectively suppressed' because senior officers did not believe the data.

The other two were ignored, the professor said.

Fears had also been raised by schools over the 16 years but the alerts went uninvestigated.
Because if they actually did anything, the various muslim groups would yell 'RACIST!'  And these cowardly bastards would rather let kids be raped than deal with that.

And who's going to pay a price for this?  Not the chickenshits involved in ignoring it, that's for sure:
Council chief executive Martin Kimber said he did not have the evidence to discipline any individuals working for the council despite the report saying there had been 'blatant' collective failures by its leadership at the time.
And
But Shaun Wright, the current Police Commissioner for South Yorkshire is Shaun Wright, who was widely criticised for failing to tackle sex abuse in Rotherham during his five-year stint in the council's children and young people's department, said he is more determined than ever to lead a Police Force that 'effectively roots out the evil criminals who carry out such disgraceful abuse'.
Here's the question for you, Mr  Wright: why the HELL do you still have a fricking JOB with the cops?

Just go read it; I'm about to blow a gasket, and I don't need that right now

Ever heard of Kennewick Man?

Lots of information here, I hadn't heard anything about this in quite a while

So if your kid is going to the University of Pennsylvania,

you're helping pay the salary for this clown.
“First they shootin us in the streets, and then they taking all the video awards for sorry songs y’all.”
...
“God ain’t good all of the time,” Butler had declared. “In fact, sometimes, God is not for us. As a black woman in an [sic] nation that has taken too many pains to remind me that I am not a white man, and am not capable of taking care of my reproductive rights, or my voting rights, I know that this American god ain’t my god.”

“Whatever makes them protected, safe, and secure, is worth it at the expense of the black and brown people they fear,” the religious studies professor also raged. “Their god is the god that wants to erase race.”
Associate professor of religious studies.  Wonderful.

Speaking of education,
The United Federation of Teachers, the New York City branch of the American Federation of Teachers, has filed a lawsuit asking a judge to rule that teachers — and teachers alone — have the authority to make lesson plans for children in taxpayer-funded public schools.
This is headed by the asshat who was threatening anyone who stands against Common Core; not only does he want that, he wants no oversight of what his minions are up to.

The CSGV is upset that black people have guns

and can open-carry them.  And blame the NRA for this horror.

And we're supposed to be the racists, etc.

If you have the time, and a high tolerance for idiocy and bigotry, to look at their comments.

Next time someone starts the "It takes a factory with modern equipment to make guns" line, point them to this.

NYPD: "Those guns are unsafe, they practically shoot themselves!"

Yeah, that's what happens when you pull the trigger, dumbass.

Much easier to blame hardware than to spend the time and money to train the software properly.  But a lot less safe for everyone.

#1: Proof that everyone from the IRS head down is a liar

Judicial Watch, a watchdog group which has been investigating the IRS scandal, has learned that Lois Lerner’s supposedly missing emails may still exist within a federal government back-up system.

After months of administration officials insisting that two years worth of Lerner’s emails were irretrievable following a computer crash, a Department of Justice attorney admitted to Judicial Watch Friday that the federal government backs up all their computer records in case of catastrophe.

#2: They're still full of shit and trying to avoid releasing them:
Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, told Fox News that the Department of Justice now claims it would be “too hard” to retrieve Lerner’s emails from the back-up system.
"What, you expect us to actually find them?  We've got coverup to do here, and you're putting us off our schedule!"
...“There’s no such thing as Lois Lerner’s missing e-mails,” said Fitton. “It’s all been a big lie. They’ve been lying to the courts, to the American people and to Congress. It is really outrageous.”And various of these people lied under oath.  Repeatedly.  And I do believe that is a crime, is it not?

Time for the House to start telling people they're going to jail unless the e-mails are brought in, and people start telling the truth.  And then PUT THE PERJURORS IN JAIL.

No, no possible problems with this,

nooooo...
The federal government is spending nearly $1 million to create an online database that will track “misinformation” and hate speech on Twitter.

The National Science Foundation is financing the creation of a web service that will monitor “suspicious memes” and what it considers “false and misleading ideas,” with a major focus on political activity online.

The “Truthy” database, created by researchers at Indiana University, is designed to “detect political smears, astroturfing, misinformation, and other social pollution.”
'social pollution', isn't that an interesting term.  Especially coming from these people:
Filippo Menczer (who sounds like an author of that 1920s Italian fascist tract) is Truthy’s lead investigator and closely affiliated with “non-partisan” groups like President Obama’s Organizing for Action, Moveon.org and Greenpeace. The software’s very name comes from ardent conservative hater Stephen Colbert.
Be interesting to see how they define 'hate speech', and 'misinformation'.

Concealed carry works; Mommies Demand, Bloomberg and Chief McCarthy hardest hit

Since Illinois started granting concealed carry permits this year, the number of robberies that have led to arrests in Chicago has declined 20 percent from last year, according to police department statistics. Reports of burglary and motor vehicle theft are down 20 percent and 26 percent, respectively. In the first quarter, the city’s homicide rate was at a 56-year low.
What?  We were promised massacres and mass shootouts in the street!
The Chicago Police Department has credited better police work as a reason for the lower crime rates this year. Police Superintendent Garry F. McCarthy noted the confiscation of more than 1,300 illegal guns in the first three months of the year, better police training and “intelligent policing strategies.”

The Chicago Police Department didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Washington Times.
Maybe they didn't want to answer the question "If this is why, why hasn't it stopped all the weekend shootings by the gangs?"

Unfortunately, I'm not the least surprised the EffingBI would act

in this way.  Or any of the other LE agencies.
The biggest thing I’ve taken away from this project is something I’ll never be able to prove, but I’m convinced to my core: The lack of such a database is intentional. No government—not the federal government, and not the thousands of municipalities that give their police forces license to use deadly force—wants you to know how many people it kills and why.
It’s the only conclusion that can be drawn from the evidence. What evidence? In attempting to collect this information, I was lied to and delayed by the FBI, even when I was only trying to find out the addresses of police departments to make public records requests. The government collects millions of bits of data annually about law enforcement in its Uniform Crime Report, but it doesn’t collect information about the most consequential act a law enforcer can do.

I’ve been lied to and delayed by state, county and local law enforcement agencies—almost every time. They’ve blatantly broken public records laws, and then thumbed their authoritarian noses at the temerity of a citizen asking for information that might embarrass the agency. And these are the people in charge of enforcing the law.
Answer honestly: anymore, is ANYONE shocked or surprised by this?

Tab clearing

Think they'll stop calling people racist for wanting to control the border?  Or is being PC more important than stopping terrorists?

Just What Is an Unarmed Man?

#Ferguson - when assholes collide

A bit on the Armys' civil disturbances primer

One reason people laugh at being called 'anti-intellectual': because so many 'intellectuals' saying it are morons like this:
Herf makes a sound analogy between their position and that taken by the old Communists in the years of the Nazi-Soviet Pact from Aug. 1939 to June 1941. Just as the Communists ignored fascism — the Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov famously said that “fascism is a matter of taste,” the historians now justify many of the Islamists’ actions as a cultural difference that Westerners should respect. Recall that historian Joan Scott of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton a few years ago refused to condemn Tariq Ramadan’s failure to oppose the stoning of women to death in Muslim nations. Stoning, she said at a forum, was an aspect of their culture that we had to understand.

Want to bet the protection order was bullshit, too?
She download[ed] in excess of 40 images of different acts of child pornography to the family computer, took it to the state police and said, ‘My husband downloaded all this porn,’” District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said.

Fighting the gun bigots one suit at a time.

Yeah, this will keep everyone calm.

No matter how much we've learned, Ma Nature still surprises.  The pros on Iceland know the subject as well any on Earth, and the volcanoes still play game with them.
