It's about damned time

Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act Lawsuit pursued against the Department of Justice by government watchdog Judicial Watch, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has ruled a list of documents being withheld from Congress under President Obama's claim of executive privilege must be turned over. Obama made the claim on the same day Attorney General Eric Holder was voted in criminal and civil contempt of Congress in June 2012.

"This order forces the Obama DOJ, for the first time, to provide a detailed listing of all documents that it has withheld from Congress and the American people for years about the deadly Fast and Furious gun running scandal," Judicial Watch released in a statement.
Yes, I know; the bastards will still lie and stonewall.  This is still a step.

Obama, Holder and the rest of the criminals in this administration do not give a red rats ass about the law. The law is ONLY important when it serves THEIR needs. So unless the good judges have a brigade of armed enforcers who will show up and TAKE these records the DOJ will simply ignore this court order.

That is the weak point in our system. One branch can make laws, another can rule on those laws as valid or not but the ONLY branch tasked with enforcing the choices of the other two cannot be forced to do anything they choose to not do.

Andrew Jackson acknowledged this weakness in the system two centuries ago when he said regarding a SCOTUS ruling "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"
