Never let them forget that while Obama is whining about honest people owning guns,

His clowns were doing this:
According to documents obtained by Senator Chuck Grassley, it appears (ATF supervisor) Gillett purchased a number of different firearms at a gun dealership in Phoenix as part of Operation Fast and Furious. It also appears Gillett lied on 4473 forms by using an address that does not lead to his residence, which is a felony.

Some other people are taking notice that that jerk Arie Perliger says people like us are the BIG threat; screw the islamists(dead hostages, dead ambassador and all), it's us nasty right-wing(doesn't matter if you're conservative, libertarian or liberal, if you don't kiss the ass then you're right-wing) types that have to be worried about.

Someone sent me a list; at #5 was
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
Which would be a lot more comforting if I didn't know what some of them are thinking.

This morning I saw a pic of Hillary Clinton with some quote about 'Women DESERVE good birth control and health care', with lots of followup "I loooove Hillary" comments, and to the couple of people who didn't agree the statement that "You don't have a uterus(for one 'you haven't given birth') so you have no say in this!"  Along with some names.
Attention: When your call for 'birth control and health care' requires taking money from me by force so as to PAY for it, then I damned well do have a say, ladyparts or not.
Second: If your 'no vagina, no say' policy is good, then I'm going to put together a list of "No testicles?  You get no say" matters.

From the political director of CBS News:
”The president who came into office speaking in lofty terms about bipartisanship and cooperation can only cement his legacy if he destroys the GOP. If he wants   to transform American politics, he must go for the throat. … Obama’s only remaining option is to pulverize. Whether he succeeds in passing legislation or not, given his ambitions, his goal should be to delegitimize his opponents. Through a series of clarifying fights over controversial issues, he can force Republicans to either side with their coalition’s most extreme elements or cause a rift in the party that will leave it, at least temporarily, in disarray.”
No, no bias there...

Holder and Obama really don't want those documents coming out, do they?
Attorney General Eric Holder and his Department of Justice have asked a federal court to indefinitely delay a lawsuit brought by watchdog group Judicial Watch. The lawsuit seeks the enforcement of open records requests relating to Operation Fast and Furious, as required by law.

Friend had a link to this Let's Talk Seriously About Gun Control article; which piece rather pissed me off due to some of the crap in it.  A few:
What does seem to increase violence (PDF link) is not concealed carry, but a looser definition of self-defense. So-called “stand your ground” laws increase the number of situations in which it is legal to shoot someone to death, and it appears that they do not deter crime at all, but do lead to about an 8% increase in shootings. Would a MORE restrictive definition of self-defense therefore reduce shootings further? My gut feeling is probably not, but it’s certainly worth looking into.
and
Those outside gun culture often underestimate just how many people in this country get massive boners at the prospect of shooting cops rather than giving up their guns, or how pants-crazy serious they are about it.
and
Perhaps an annual tax on registered firearms? Say a hundred bucks a piece, so that I get dinged for a hundred or two, some guy with ten guns gets dinged for a grand, and so on? I don’t know if this is a good idea or not. It might induce people to pare down their arsenals a bit...
He also thinks the GCA of '68 didn’t technically ban a lot of the things it banned, it just taxed them effectively out of existence.; apparently he couldn't be bothered to actually check the history on this before writing.  Which doesn't exactly give me warm fuzzies.

On the 'NICS checks on even private sales' idea, from Tam:
Look, the only way you can have mandatory background checks on private sales is to have a list of all the guns everybody owns so you know when they change hands, and you can't have a list of my guns because #@%$ you, that's why, so you might as well give up on the background check idea.

Son made the trip back to Home Base with no problems along the way, after a lot of visiting with people while here on leave.  Which included attending a couple of fun shows.

And, having had a nice day in which I could do the exercise crap, I'm tired and achy.  And thinking longingly of going to Braum's for some ice cream(which I won't do, but it sounds so good...), so goodnight to you all.

The Journal News better hope nobody winds up dead

or raped because of their idiocy.  And I hope the current victims sue their ass off.
And, Professor Howard Good, who came out with this crap when people dared subject the Journal News weenies to the same exposure they thought good for gun owners:
'It doesn't move the issue of gun control to the level of intelligent public discussion,' he said. 'Instead, it transforms what should be a rational public debate on a contentious issue into ugly gutter fighting.'
Screw you, professor; clowns like you and the News made this nasty and ugly; deal with it.

Chris Christie:  Obama parading with children to push a bill, wonderful: NRA pointing out what a miserable clown Obama is, horrible.  And he's shown himself open to banning whatever sets off his hot button.  Screw him, and if the GOP pushes him, screw them, too.

A piece of history from Hitchcock

over here.  Just ran across it, will have to watch it later.

As if we didn't know, Obama & Biden are of the "It doesn't work,

but if we do it HARDER then it'll be great!" school:
Jim Baker, the NRA representative present at the meeting, recalled the vice president’s words during an interview with The Daily Caller: “And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”
After Biden met with every gun-bigot group around for days, the NRA got 5 freakin' minutes to present their stuff.  And got the above crap in return.

In 2010, prosecutors considered just 22 cases of information falsification, according to a 2012 report to the Department of Justice by the Regional Justice Information Service. Forty additional background-check cases ended up before prosecutors for reasons related to unlawful gun possession.

In all, prosecutors pursued just 44 of those 62 cases. More than 72,600 applications were denied on the basis of a background check.

“We think it is problematic when the administration takes lightly the prosecutions under existing gun laws and yet does not seem to have a problem promoting a whole host of other gun laws,” Baker told TheDC.

It seems our current run-out-of-England journalist has a bit of a past on the subject of self-defense he probably doesn't want to talk about:
In 2004 Morgan penned an op-ed for the Evening Standard headlined “I can’t be liberal on burglars,”in which he said he said a series of home invasions and robberies at his home made him wish for a gun. Britain, which had banned all guns, had seen a rash of break-in burglaries, one of which took the life of financier John Monckton.
If Monckton “had killed one of those burglars while defending himself … then he would now be facing a jail sentence for manslaughter or even murder,” Morgan wrote. “No part of my liberalism allows me to deem this fair.”
Well, that's because it's NOT fair.
Morgan added that he would have no compunction about killing a burglar who posed a threat to him or his family.
But he thinks we should be disarmed. Fucking hypocrite.

Speaking of dirtbag journalists, the Journal News has caved, but they're trying to pretend that's not what they did:
;”… While the new law does not require us to remove the data, we believe that doing so complies with its spirit …”
As the man says,in a pigs ass; two burglaries reported(so far) to be connected to their map, they're probably huddled with lawyers, terrified that next it'll be someone raped or murdered and connected to this.  Not to mention the heat, which they really don't like, for being such assholes.

While you're over at GPNY, look at what the Democrats REALLY wanted to do.
And if you're in that misbegotten state, don't forget that the Stupid Party was involved in helping Howler Cuomo pass this piece of crap.

The bad gun formula at the root of an assault weapons ban raises a basic worry. The formula says we are not attacking gun ownership. We only want to ban the limited category of guns that are used by criminals or madmen.  But there is no such limited category. Criminals and madmen will use whatever guns they can get, and those guns will give them full reign over helpless people as was grotesquely demonstrated in Newtown, Connecticut.

No, no, the President will repeat, we are only after a narrow category of very high risk guns. But that is demonstrably false.  The bad gun formula already has reached well beyond “assault weapons”.

I'd heard about King having guns around before; if you haven't here's a look at the situation.

Thursday, January 17, 2013

So, another example of the major media either lying to us,

or not bothering to see if any of the crap they're saying is true.  AND the crap from the LE people involved, AND Obama posing with children and whining about 'assault rifles' and such.

Speaking of idiot/bigoted/crooked journalists, Piers Morgan gets really upset when he can't force someone to say what he wants them to.

If you want a fine example of idiot, gun-bigot, control-freak politicians in such a hurry to pass a bill(so no commoner has time to read it and say anything to their elected reps) that they don't bother to make sure what the hell they're voting on,
As reported by ABC-TV in New York, Cuomo's NY SAFE Act bans all magazines that hold more than seven bullets and pre-1994 high capacity magazines, and prohibits the carrying of guns on school grounds. Except they forgot to add a loophole exempting law enforcement officers.

But because no loophole for law enforcement was included in the law, every police officer in the state is technically in violation of the statute even though the prohibition is unlikely to be enforced, according to New York Assemblyman Al Graf.

Graf — a former New York City police officer and the ranking Republican member of the assembly’s powerful Codes Committee — says that the ban could even impede the efforts of officers to respond to a school shooting.

“The language is unclear, and to go further, a cop cannot go on school property with a gun,” Graf told The Daily Caller. “They weren’t exempted from that, either.”

“There was actually a story that was relayed to me the other day about a New York City police officer who went to a school the other day to pick up his kid, and the security guard told him that if he came to the school with his off-duty gun he would be arrested,” Graf continued.
The prohibition on carrying a gun into a school could even extend to on-duty police officers responding to an emergency such as a shooting.

“I guess they would have to sit there and take their gun belts off before they came in” to the school, Graf said
.
What kind of idiots would be behind this? The Democrats and other gun bigots, led by Howler Cuomo.

Apparently US Attorney Ortiz is feeling the heat.  As she damn well should.

Another example of the CSGV being dishonest, miserable little dirtbags.

If you know any collectors who think what they collect is safe,

point them to this.

Also, a reason why Obama is still fundraising and campaigning.

Guaranteed to scare hell out of the hoplophobes and gun bigots:
First of all, remind Democrats that the Framers didn't write the First Amendment with cable television, Internet communications or even the telegraph in mind. Should we limit the press's freedom of speech to the movable type printing press which was the primary means of mass communication at the time of the Framers?

More importantly, don't let the nuclear weapon ruse intimidate you. The limits of the Second Amendment is a fair question that deserves an answer. It's simple: Law-abiding, free people should have the right to arm themselves with whatever weapons their government would use against them.
For that matter,

Related, got sucked into a thread on FB by a comment, and you'd love it: We're all racist(well, one lady said only 99%) because that's the ONLY reason to oppose Obama on, well anything; Obama is only trying to increase and secure our freedoms by wanting to ban assault rifles and mags; 'the Framers didn't foresee the AR15', etc.; on and on, every left-wing/hoplophobe/gun bigot talking point I've ever heard, all in one thread.  Excuse me, except one: nobody called us Nazis.
Oh, did you know we didn't mind Bush signing executive orders, only Obama(because he's black)?  And when Bush said he'd sign the AWB renewal, we thought he was being 'reasonable'?

So, Paul Shepard, are you just too lazy to check dates,

or too corrupt to care?

Journal News publisher Janet Hasson has an armed guard on her front door; she just doesn't like peasants having their own guns.

About damn time someone in Congress said 'impeachment'.

Ah, the wonders of the new refrigerant: expensive as hell and can kill you with fire.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test[s] was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine... Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
I'm reminded of the Greenpeace-endorsed refrigerator; used butane or some other flammable gas as the refrigerant.  Wouldn't freeze anything, wouldn't chill all that well either, and if the system leaked could blow your house up.

OGAM has a list of the businesses that met with Biden and his 'Let's ban guns but not say it outright' committee, and contact information:
Just like it has been suggested that we call Walmart and express our concerns lest they think it is in their best interest to screw gun owners, I'd suggest we call the rest of the retailers on this list. If Schumer can contact these companies, then there is no reason that we as consumers shouldn't as well. I have assembled contact information for all of these companies as well as other relevant information.

When you call be respectful and polite but be firm in your stance. You don't need to argue but merely state your case. Make sure the company knows that you'll refuse to do business with them in the future if they cave to pressure from the Obama Administration on guns. This is different than a corporate decision decides to stop selling a product due to the profit margins.

He also has this:

Gov. Howlin' Cuomo: "These guns and clips are SO dangerous

we can't give people time to read the bill, and we can't let the legislature have time to read it either!"
Yeah, it's hard to be a dictator if you give people time to know what you're shoving through and yell about it; why, some of the legislature might not vote the way you want them to!

I've come to the conclusion that people like Obama and Chu like the idea of making it harder on the poor, making their lives worse; it allows O and C to 'rescue' them through .gov programs(which the poor are also taxed to pay for, but they won't talk about that).

Sen. Joe Manchin of WV has sold out the voters; the questions now are
Just how much did his 'integrity' cost?
What can voters do to make his life as miserable as possible?
Update: so, did this come before or after the above?  I think after, and I get the feeling Manchin has been getting some really hard questions.  And statements.  And questions about his ancestry.

Let's not forget, politicians like Gov. Howler and Sen. Schumer LOVE having factories like Remington around, so much so that they provide subsidies.  They want to have the companies providing jobs and paying taxes, AND want to insult them and try to put them out of business(except they'll probably have some kind of exception to prevent them going all the way out of business, because they loves them some taxes).

Josette shows no mercy to a gun bigot/hoplophobe; job well done.

Social Security: if people like me didn't already know it, we're screwed.

Jeff at Alphecca is having a big problem; if you've got a buck or two to spare, he could use the help.

The Mayor of Portland, OR, really should find out

what the hell he's talking about before he starts talking.  Good part starts about 4:30.
Everything from 'Mr. Mayor, that's not true' to an implied 'Why didn't you find out about this before you started talking?'
Along with the usual 'high-powered weapons' about ARs, and 'If you can't hunt with it, you should not be able to have it', and 'No, I won't actually say what I want, I want Congress to do it and take the pressure off me.'

Phelps has a plain-language breakdown of the executive orders; it's amazing how much of this crap boils down to 'tell someone to do something they already do'.  I'm wondering how much of this was based on "We shall stand before the media, We shall look concerned, and We shall issue proclamations to show our concern.  But not so much that it endangers Democrats too badly in the next election."

Oooh, this'll piss of the Kos Kids and the other socialists:
The CEO of Whole Foods Market said President Obama's healthcare law is more like "fascism" than "socialism," a parallel he drew in 2009, to some backlash.
John Mackey made the remark in an interview Wednesday with NPR.

"Technically speaking, it's more like fascism," Mackey said of the Affordable Care Act. "Socialism is where the government owns the means of production. In fascism, the government doesn't own the means of production, but they do control it, and that's what's happening with our healthcare programs and these reforms."

On the subject of Piers Morgan,

Do you know what will never occur? Piers Morgan inviting a Holocaust survivor onto his show and lecturing him or her about the “absurdity” of stating that governments sometimes go tyrannical and confiscate weapons from civilians, and that Very Bad Things happen after that.

Gov. Howler Cuomo and the NY Senate has voted to

make every honest citizen with a standard magazine for a rifle or pistol a criminal.
I wonder if any of these clowns actually believe it will stop a criminal, or if it's simply waving the bloody shirt to get more control over their subjects?

Obama & Co. say they want Britain to stay under the EUnuchs; a response.
I guess you could say this is more proof of how Obama hates Britain: he wants them stuck in a socialist tyranny forever.

Most people in government reject natural rights and personal sovereignty. Most people in government believe that the exercise of everyone’s rights is subject to the will of those in the government. Most people in government believe that they can write any law and regulate any behavior, not subject to the natural law, not subject to the sovereignty of individuals, not cognizant of history’s tyrants, but subject only to what they can get away with.

Another bit of history:
At the same time, the authorities initiated a ruthless campaign to disarm the entire Armenian population of personal weapons before embarking on a genocidal spree of mass deportations and massacres. By the autumn of 1915, Cilicia had been ethnically cleansed and the authorities turned their sights on the foremost Armenian settlement area in eastern Anatolia. First to be cleansed was the zone bordering Van, extending from the Black Sea to the Iranian frontier and immediately threatened by Russian advance; only there did outright massacres often substitute for otherwise slow deaths along the deportation routes or in the concentration camps of the Syrian desert.
...
Whenever the deportees arrived at a village or town, they were exhibited like slaves in a public place, often before the government building itself. Female slave markets were established in the Muslim areas through which the Armenians were driven, and thousands of young Armenian women and girls were sold in this way. Even the clerics were quick to avail themselves of the bargains of the white slave market.

I like the sound of this:
We few, we happy few, are nor so easily bearded. We will zero our rifles, clean and oil them so that they are well-regulated for battle, put aside supplies, and dust off the knowledge of Morgan’s crew. But we will not strike without just and true cause in defense of liberty, for we know the horrors of war that those in far away capitols have never tasted.

We count within our numbers military veterans of Asian jungles and European plains, the Euphrates River valley and wind-swept deserts, and the jagged mountains of the Hindu Kush. We count within our numbers men and women that strap on their armor and badges to hold the wolves at bay, those who put on their bunker gear to rush towards the smoke and the flame, those blood-spattered first responders who breath life into the injured and dying, and who hold together broken bodies and torn spirits.

We count within our numbers architects and poets, welders and judges, clergy and computer operators. We count within our numbers white collar and blue collar and no collar, grandfathers and granddaughters of every color, creed, sexuality, faith, class, language, and size. Neither faith nor patriotism nor thirst for liberty has a container. It flows like water within us.

Why should we not trust the Justice Department(or the

Secret Service, or most any of the feds)?  Let us count some more reasons.

Remember the prosecution of Sen. Stevens?  When the prosecutors flat LIED, and withheld evidence the law says they MUST provide to the defense?  The judge ruled no criminal charges because 'nobody specifically told them not to violate this law'...  If you or I tried that defense, we'd be behind bars, but it works for 'Justice' Department lawyers.

Gregory skates on a charge that the AAG in charge has worked hard to put other people in jail for, because prosecuting Gregory 'wouldn't serve justice'; unmentioned was that AAG Irvin Nathan knows Gregory and his wife(but that has nothing to do with it, oh no!).

The question is not 'why don't you trust the .gov', it's become  'why SHOULD we trust the .gov?'

The Journal News claims its first victim

A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.
As we know at least one woman was now being threatened by the stalker she'd gotten away from- until the assholes at the Journal News sold her out- I wonder how long it'll be before the Journal News second victim will be someone beaten, raped or killed?

Don't forget:
Janet Hasson, 3 Gate House Lane, Mamaroneck, NY
And don't forget the other people at the Journal News

Dr. Grumpy: "Any major illnesses in your family?"

Mr. Clear: "My mom had one of those things you die from."

Some people in Mexico are sick of the nonsense:

A man in a ski mask at one roadblock told reporters that townspeople had to act against criminals.
"They kill, extort, rape. You do not know if they are drug dealers, thugs, who want to grab everything," he said. "We want to return peace and tranquility to the entire population. Only the people can restore order."

A historical note:

The Battle of Moores Creek:
Waiting on the other side of the bridge were mountain Scotsmen who hunted squirrels and had given up broadswords a long, long time ago. Legend has it that’s where NC got “Scotland” County’s name from ~ as a thanks to those Scots who chose to ignore the Loyalist call from the governor and fought for the new nation forming.

And some just because:

Long ago, in a place far, far* away:

*Well, about 275 miles
