Why are anti-gun people(and lots of Democrats)

so violent?

Now THAT'S a kaboom!

Ok, here's a place I'll be spending some time in the future: Brassfetcher.com, ballistics testing

Hey, since when has breaking the law bothered Obama & Co.?

Yeeouch, that's a KABOOM!

It's not a slam-fire, but rather that if the return spring is strong enough, the round can chamber. Here's a link posted by "Marty" showing the two rounds side by side.

The 300BLK case is shorter than the .223 case. In fact, it looks like you could make a 300BLK case by cutting a 223 case off just below the shoulder. So the case did not reach the shoulder of the 223 chamber. The bullet is tapered to a point so part of it fit into the forcing cone and the chamber of the shoulder. It looks like the .300 bullet is slightly wider than the .223 case at the shoulder, so the bullet has to push back into the case a little to fit. That often doesn't take much force. Now the bolt is fully closed.

Then pull the trigger and it fires. The bullet will swage down a little and get very, very stuck in the barrel. It takes much less force to blow the case and chamber apart (or perhaps to blow the case apart and break the bolt lugs) than to swage a .300 to .223, so KABOOM.
