To the people who've said "You're just trying to scare people, and the NRA

is just trying to raise money, Obama hasn't done anything about guns!", even if you ignore his past actions and words, his plans speak for themselves. His and all the other socialists/hoplophobes/gun bigots.

Speaking of which,
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, (State senator/D)Trotter was arrested at a security checkpoint early this morning. A candidate for the 2nd Congressional District seat vacated recently by Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., Trotter had a .25-caliber Beretta semiautomatic pistol in his bag. The Chicago Tribune said Trotter told police he worked late last night as a security guard and didn’t realize the pistol was in his bag.
Besides the hypocrisy, we're supposed to believe the senator moonlights as a security guard? Really?

What the Dept. of Homeland Security is doing with Shiva-only-knows how many millions of OPM. And helping screw law enforcement into a semi-light-infantry mindset at the same time.

Meanwhile, back in the actual US,
With gun in hand, Gerow convinced the man to drop his keys. He told his wife to call 911 and waited for deputies to arrive.
...
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the suspect, later identified as 41-year-old Christopher Lance Moore, also called for help while sitting in his pickup truck.
"I'm out in the country somewhere and some guy's got a gun on me," he said on the call.
When deputies arrived they arrested Moore for burglary of habitation, a second-degree felony.

Meanwhile, in the People's Republic of Maryland, even if you ignore the SWAT idiocy and overkill, just how much taxpayer money is being wasted on this crap?

And a bit more on what has become 'law enforcement officers' as opposed to peace officers, and the consequences thereof.
In a free society, a society with a fundamental right to keep and bear arms, police officers believing they may shoot a citizen in his own home simply because he is carrying a firearm cannot be tolerated.  Officers must absolutely avoid putting citizens in situations where they might be armed, or even pointing firearms in the direction of police officers banging on or breaking down their front doors. If such misconduct is tolerated, as in the cases of Jose Guerena and Andrew Scott, the next knock on any citizen’s door may be the last they ever answer.

Another reason to understand why Kim always called it New York Fucking City:
They have branches through their roof, busted front windows, and, to add insult to injury, they recently received a citation notice from the city.
...
They got it on Nov. 9, cited with “failure to maintain” their property.
But as they pointed out to CBS 2’s Schneider on Tuesday night, it’s a city tree that they were waiting for the city to remove.

And last, there've been calls for DHS to be disbanded for years(and rightly so); looks like we probably ought to get rid of the EffingBI, too.
The FBI records the emails of nearly all US citizens, including members of congress, according to NSA whistleblower William Binney. In an interview with RT, he warned that the government can use this information against anyone.
Binney, one of the best mathematicians and code breakers in the history of the National Security Agency, resigned in 2001. He claimed he no longer wanted to be associated with alleged violations of the Constitution, such as how the FBI engages in widespread and pervasive surveillance through powerful devices called 'Naris.'
