Went to Penn Square Mall, and found 'no firearms' signs (Updated)

on the doors. I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know how long they've been up.

So I just e-mailed the management:
I went to Penn Square for the first time in a while, and noticed that you have posted 'no firearms' signs on the doors.

I am curious as to why you have decided that people with concealed carry permits are not welcome in your mall, or are not trusted to carry their sidearm there.

We'll see if they reply, and what they say

Update: Noticed something in my spam folder, and found this:
DELIVERY FAILURE: User blanddec (blanddec@simon.com) not listed in Domino Directory
That's from using the form for 'contact us' for Penn Square. Tried it again, same thing.

So looked at the base site, which is for the Simon Property Group, Inc., and used their 'contact' form to ask the question. And quickly received a automated "We got it" response. So, we'll see what answer comes back.

Interesting. I haven't been there in a long while. Wonder how they will respond.

I'm thinking they'll claim it's something about "public safety" or some other BS answer. You could mess with them by pointing out the NY shooting, with 9 *bystanders* shot BY THE POLICE, so unless their "no firearms" sign applies to the police also, they're full of it!

Yannow wat I'd like to see? A lawyer send a registered letter asking the managers of the Mall since no one is allowed to defend themselves in it, if a nutcase came through the door in violation of their "no weapons" policy could their guests be assured of someone providing guaranteed safety from said nutcase, and if someone was shot and, God Forbid, killed would Mall Management provice say, $250,000 or $300,000 in tax free life insurance to the victim's familie(s)? Or a million or so to anyone shot by an illegal intruder?

I'd be curious to see the answer to that one. I also see that some of the customers and families of victims have begun suing the theater in CO. where so many were killed. I hope the theater magangement ,and he holding company's Executives are sued into penury. It would be good to see a few of 'em living in the backs of station wagons or under bridge abutments.

I agree with Mattexian; you'll probably get some form letter that talks a lot of bullshit.

I have heard that there is one entrance to the mall that does not have a "no firearms" sign, therefore you can enter through that one entrance legally. I have not personally tried to find the entrance, but am interested in finding out if it is legit or not.
