Bill Wade, the outgoing chair of the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees,

you're a miserable little bastard, aren't you?
So a disturbed young man who willfully gunned down four people in the city, someone who fired upon park rangers and killed one in order to make a mad dash into the woods, would have refused to enter the park if there was a law against bringing firearms there? That must be what Bill Wade means, because I simply cannot fathom how his remarks could be taken any other way.

In my opinion, Bill Wade is a disgusting human being to use this tragedy to advance his political agenda. Why doesn’t he think that visitors to the park with their own guns would at least have a small chance of fending off violent criminals seeking to harm their families?
You have to remember, James, gun bigots like Wade don't WANT people able to defend themselves; they're supposed to cower and hope for the best until(if?) the properly certified minions of the State arrive.

Amen bro... I was just thinking the same thing.

I guess in Wade's eyes this law would have stopped this event from unfolding. I'd like for him to explain exacly how? Roadside checks? Metal detectors? Magic?

Bigots like Bill Wade should find another country to live in. I'll even pay their airfare.

Bump to you both. Only an idiot would make a selfish comment immediately after a tragedy like this. God Bless the Ranger and her family. Thanks for your service.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Bill Wades out there. We all need to be contiually vigilant, looking for anyone trying to take our freedoms away from us.

There must be a special bill wade force field that acts like a big magnet and collects guns from visitors as they enter the parks.

Laws already exist that make it a crime to kill. It does not appear that the killers obey those laws. What makes Bill Wade think that his law will stop them.

When will the Bill Wade's of the world learn that law's are only as good as the person.

I read this Wade comment and was driven to copy the name and send him a message...but was happy to find several other decent folks had beaten me to it. I am happy beyond words to find that others had already beaten me to it. Well played. Mr Wade, you should return to the mental hospital you escaped from. Hope you get better.

After reading Bill Wade's statement regarding how "Congress should be regretting its decision to allow loaded weapons in national parks" even though he has called Sunday's fatal shooting a tragedy that could have been prevented. Really???? Gee Bill you are right, if it was illegal to bring firearms in to state parks, I am sure that Barnes who was also a suspect in an earlier shooting, which by the way wounded four people, two of them critical, would have pulled over and willingly handed over his guns. A little tip for you to remember Bill, criminal's dont typically adhere to laws. Law abiding citizens do......

God Bless Margaret Anderson and her family.

Wow, idiots like Bill Wade never cease to amaze me. To bad a citizen with a cw permit couldn't have prevented this tragety, then what would Mr. Wade have said?

Makes me sick when one stands in a pool of blood to advance their political agenda.

I was floored when I read his ridiculous comment. Anyone have contact information so I can tell him personally? He won't be reading your thread. How stupid can a man be? And he had a job!?! That he is going to get retirement pay from !!?!!

PLease.. What a moron!!! Are you serious? Do you think this deranged man made sure he was legal before he went into that park??? Really? You are a FOOL! Perhaps if there were more law-abiding gun carrying people present he wouldn't have had a chance to kill as he did. There is NO EXCUSE for this kind of ignorance from a grown man, and I'm talking about Wade!

We must be thinking alike, how can someone be so insensitive to the loss of this women and the pain her family must be feeling. It is really sick to use her death to further his own agenda. It is just heinous. He is just disturbing.

Your all right, its sad that a person uses another persons pain to advance a cause, BUT look at what happoned in the AZ shootings the anti gun nuts were doing the same thing, if a person is going to break into a house, who's house will he break into,a person known to be armed or a person who they know isn't,same thing applies here,Forest Service Law Enforcement cars are fully marked Law Enforcement Veh's ,She was shot before she even got out of her patrol veh.,that tells me he knew she was a cop and most likely thought he was getting stopped for the shooting's ealier, death row is full of folks who say they didn't do anything wrong, just ask them, then ask them if they thought what they did was wrong and 99.9% will say no,the same thing this bozo would have said, besides he;s paying for the crimes he did now BIG TIME and will be paying forever, This Bill Wade should get his retirement pulled, i hate the thought that i am paying his retirement
