Reference Obama's comments on gas prices

the other day, a couple more things that come to mind:
Hey, genius, if someone is having trouble buying gas how the HELL are they going to afford one of your new Government Motors cars? Especially at, what, 30-50 thousand?

Who the hell do you think you are to tell someone "Screw off and buy a new car"? You're not our boss, no matter what you think.

And who the hell are you to tell someone "Your family isn't big enough to need a big car, get a little one!" ? You know the family? You know how much stuff they need to take along?

The President is an arrogant dumbass, isn't he?

Friend, when I pointed to the Insty post, actually said "This is what peak oil looks like." Which is idiotic, ignores all the oil and gas we have that The Lightworker doesn't want us to drill for, and works quite conveniently for someone who seems to think that no Democrat can really do anything wrong and that somehow every disappointment from Obama is somehow the fault of Republicans and conservatives. And she's probably got a plan for those troublesome libertarians, too.

It's not "Peak Oil" it's Peak Government and Peak Moslems.

I think your rifleman's prayer will have long since worked for both of us before anything like peak oil happens, and it probably won't happen anyway; its proponants never seem to have had anything to do with resources.

Check out these "Only Ones", very unpleasant:

I don't understand why the discussion on rising oil prices centers on automobiles and personal transportation.
I live a mile from my place of work, and most days I could walk. But - most of the stuff I buy, like food, clothing, guns and stuff like that, gets here by burning petroleum products. I don't know about anybody else, but I've noticed a fairly sizable jump in food prices over the last couple months, and I think at least some of it is due to the rising price of fuel. Plus the fact that a chunk of our feed corn is going into gas tanks of people who'd rather not be burning feed corn.
And how many people heat their homes with petroleum products? Probably not the rich folk, so it won't make headlines.
Anyway, I think our rulers ought to give a little thought to the other ramifications of their energy "policy."

Pump prices tend to get the most notice because when you pull up it's "It jumped HOW MUCH overnight?" But yeah, it does affect pretty much everything. And yeah, I've noticed, along with everyone else I know who buys groceries and whatever else.

We're coming into warm weather, which means more people using a/c, which cost will go up; and if Obama & Co. stay on this track people who use heating oil(them especially) are in big trouble next winter.

At this point I'm leaning more against 'Don't know what they're doing' and toward "They DO know exactly what they're doing", pushed there by things like Obama giving a shitload of our money to Brazil so they can drill and promising to be a customer but telling our oil industry to die.
