Yes, the Obama/NSD plan: when people are on to you,

change the words to make it sound different.
From the administration that brought you "man-caused disaster" and "overseas contingency operation," another terminology change is in the pipeline.

The White House wants the public to start using the term "global climate disruption" in place of "global warming" -- fearing the latter term oversimplifies the problem and makes it sound less dangerous than it really is
.
Translation: "Far too many people know about the AGW crap being, well, crap. So we'll have to rename things to try to get our control bills shoved through."
"They're trying to come up with more politically palatable ways to sell some of this stuff," said Republican pollster Adam Geller, noting that Democrats also rolled out a new logo and now refer to the Bush tax cuts as "middle-class tax cuts."

He said the climate change change-up likely derives from flagging public support for their bill to regulate emissions. He said the term "global warming" makes the cause easy to ridicule whenever there's a snowstorm.

"Every time we're digging our cars out -- what global warming?" he said. "(Global climate disruption is) more of a sort of generic blanket term, I guess, that can apply in all weather conditions."

It's unclear why Holdren prefers "global climate disruption" over "climate change," the most commonly used alternative to "global warming."
Because so many people have come to see that 'climate change has been their answer for EVERYTHING; EVERYTHING that happens in the weather was supposed to be due to 'climate change' and WE were causing it all, so our betters wanted to be handed the power to control our lives in all ways because they could then control 'climate change'. Etc. ad Bullshit. Back in the cold, snowy winter they kept saying "You have to understand, this is 'weather', not 'climate'!", and as soon as it got hot "GLOBAL WARMING! CLIMATE CHANGE!"

An exercise in "re-branding"

Britain did that when it changed the name of its leaky, fire prone and generally disfunctional nuclear reprocessing plant from Windscale to Sellafield.

Suddenly all of the old horror films were obsolete. Now Sellafield has the bad image too.

A pal of mine worked for Nirex (the long term nuke waste disposal crowd), he said it was like a disfunctional university research dept, no work ever got done, observational results were altered to fit computer models and there was a track worn in the floor to the coffee machine.

They still won't tell us why the nuke contamination blamed on Chernobyl was there at least a year before Chernobyl blew*.

I guess "climate disruption" research depts will be the same?

*The silage bales from the summer before were hotter than the chernobyl year's

Perhaps that's what has turned the bales into mutant killer bales?

Or was it global warming that did it?
