The other night, when I did my 'Sgt. Preston without the red coat'

imitation and walked to the essentials store(I did say I was out of whiskey), when I got to the corner of the walk by the store it seemed the wind had kept is swept clear of snow. Which meant there was about two inches of frozen slush; think of trying to walk on the surface of a pond that froze in a strong wind.

Step, slip, thump, and then I slid sideways off the walk and into the lane. I think I had the same look on my face as Wile E. when he realizes the cliff is coming up and he can't shut the rocket down.

You need ice cleats. They really, truly work. It's how I keep my footing in weather like this.
