B17 WWII log book

Rodger has the link here

No, it wasn't bad vetting;

Obama knew exactly who he was getting, and why.
Yet was that expenditure a failure? Perhaps by the stated goals of improving education in Chicago in measurable ways, yes. However, if the intent of Bill Ayers (who applied for and received the Annenberg grant) and Obama was to use the grants to funnel money to radical organizations and to incrementally radicalize Chicago public education in ways that might not show up at all in standard student performance evaluation, CAC may have been judged a success worth repeating. Obama and Ayers served together on the boards of CAC and the Woods Fund and both organizations funneled grant money to, among others for example, ACORN!

Which brings us to Van Jones. He wrote a book about a green economy from a decidedly leftist perspective that earned him praise from the left but there is no evidence I have seen that he has ever created a single job. Last April, in Slate magazine’s The Big Money, Chadwick Matlin wrote ‘Van Jones: The Face of Green Jobs’:
“Jones is the switchboard operator for Obama's grand vision of the American economy; connecting the phone lines between all the federal agencies invested in a green economy. The $787 billion stimulus Congress authorized in February had at least $30 billion of green-jobs funding attached to it. It's Jones' responsibility to work within all the government agencies to make sure it gets doled out appropriately.”
Van Jones’ appointment as Green Jobs Czar was not an example of poor vetting. This was Obama repeating what he knew and what Bill Ayers had done with him: get your radical operative in a position from which he influences the direction of the money!

No surprise: Pres. B. Cartman Obama and SecState Clinton knew

about the release of the Libyan mass murderer
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.

The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.

‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.

‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue
.
'Disingenuous'? How about 'duplicitous'? How about 'full of crap'?

So, in the name of sucking up to Libya and(I suspect) as recompense for having crapped on Brown in the past, Obama and Clinton knew about this, and lied about it. Which fits right in with Brown lying about his part in it.

As to The Obama chairing the UN,
No American president has ever attempted to acquire the image of King of the Universe by officiating at a meeting of the UN’s highest body. But Obama apparently believes that being flanked by council-member heads of state like Col. Moammar Qaddafi — who is expected to be seated five seats to Obama’s right — will cast a sufficiently blinding spell on the American taxpayer that the perilous state of the nation’s economy, the health-care fiasco, and a summer of “post-racial” scapegoating will pale by comparison.
Read both, especially the second as it has info on Obama's apparent desire to disarm this nation and Israel as much as possible.

So the Sierra Club doesn't just lie about climate,

they lie about politics, too:
What we underestimated was the power of the fact that both Jones and the Barack Obama are black. Yes, the hysteria was about politics -- I don't think Fox News really cares about Jones's ethnicity -- but it was enabled by race. Calling Bush a "crack-head" is seen by a large part of America as worse than calling him "addict-in-chief" because crack is not just a drug -- it is a drug used largely by black people. It reminds those Americans who are still uncomfortable with Barack Obama that we have a black president.
As Riehl says, I've got sawdust for brains.

What IS it with these people? There's no possible reason for anybody opposing anything or anyone in this administration that's not because of race?

But on Saturday night, Van resigned, and this morning I was sick at heart. Collectively we -- the environmental community, progressives, and the Obama administration -- blew this, and we let our cause, our president, and Van Jones down.
How? By not managing to hide that Jones is a Truther, a communist, a racist? If that had all been covered up, all would have been well?

Well, maybe in THEIR world.

Another Democrat politician says 'public option' in health care

is just a step to single-payer, i.e. the government in total control of health care:
REP. ELLISON: Most of us are co-authors of HR676, which is a single-payer bill so we feel like we’ve already compromised. I think that the reality is the public option has been scored by the Congressional Budget Office as saving $150 billion, so this actually helps deal with the fiscal responsibility issues…It offers choice, which is a good thing…

ESKOLA: Isn’t the public option really just a step towards the single payer that you want so much?

REP. ELLISON: Yes but the reality is that for many people that’s not what it is
.
Which translates to "Lots of people don't realize that so we're trying to sneak it in that way."

Citizens or subjects

And yet, the nation is divided again, this time over perhaps a larger question: Are we citizens or are we subjects?

It's a civil war of sorts.

The British people are subjects under a constitutional monarchy that provides a titular head of state, who reinforces the relationship between the government and the governed.

The state must take care of its subjects. The British like this.

Citizenship is messier. People have more personal responsibility.

Everyone is equal. People shout down congressmen. How rude.

I can see why Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco thinks such behavior is "un-American."

She sees the American people as subjects, not citizens.

So does the president.

"The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties," President Obama said in 2001. "Says what states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you, but it doesn't say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf."

Read it all

As to the "Other Presidents have talked to schoolkids",

from Dr. Helen:Yes, other presidents have given individual talks to children but they went to the classroom themselves and talked with kids --the Politico article points out that this is the first time a president has ever given a speech addressed directly to students--and the fact that it is televised into the classroom is suspect. If Bush pumped in a show to all kids that was mandatory about the Iraq war, etc, people would be outraged.

Some of the commenters note one of the problems with this: an awful lot of teachers will use it as the opportunity to push their views on the kids. There's enough trouble with that crap without The One helping out.

Insty points to a story on why Pelosi doesn't have the balls or integrity

to deal with Rep. Charles Rangel(Tax Cheat-Evil Party-NY); lots of "Don't want to make this group mad" and "Nobody else to choose who won't be a problem". What gets me is this at the end:
Yet for all his public defiance, Rangel is said to be deeply disturbed by the charges and their effect on his four-decade career of public service.

“It bothers the hell out of him, it hurts,” said a friend. “I mean, he sees himself as the guy who helped push through stuff like the Earned Income Tax Credit – and now people are saying he’s unfit to serve.”

To put it bluntly: Well, godDAMN, Rangel you whining little bastard! You're writing tax laws, including the new one you want where an honest mistake gets penalties no matter what, AND YOU'RE NOT PAYING YOUR TAXES. You bitch about nasty Republicans and you're not reporting- what is it now, at least a half-million in money and property that you 'forgot' to mention? And you're basically paying off people on the House 'Ethics' Committee and now your FEELINGS ARE HURT? You miserable corrupt bastard, you ARE unfit to serve; you are fit to wear a prison suit, but that's about all at this point. All we need now is for you to start yelling that the only reason people are after you is because you're black; then we'll know you have fully reached the bottom.

I've heard horror stories on the British quarantine on pets

coming in; maybe these critters will have a decent time of it. After all, the quarantine people can consider the consequences(as in being visited by a number of REALLY pissed-off squaddies) if anything happens to those dogs.

The AP CEO is Thomas Curley(Shitbird exploiter of dying troops)

and the photographer with no ethics is Julie Jacobson. Here's the rules they agreed to:

“The rule regarding coverage of “wounded, injured, and ill personnel” states that the “governing concerns” are “patient welfare, patient privacy and next of kin/family considerations.”

“Casualties may be covered by embedded media as long as the service member’s identity and unit identification is protected from disclosure until OASD-PA [Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs] has officially released the name. Photography from a respectful distance or from angles at which a casualty cannot be identified is permissible…”

and here's what they did:

The AP reported that the Marine’s father had asked – in an interview and in a follow-up phone call — that the image, taken by an embedded photographer, not be published. The AP reported in a story that it decided to make the image public anyway because it “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.” …

Gates wrote to Thomas Curley, AP’s president and chief executive officer. “Out of respect for his family’s wishes, I ask you in the strongest of terms to reconsider your decision. [...] I cannot imagine the pain and suffering Lance Corporal Bernard’s death has caused his family. Why your organization would purposefully defy the family’s wishes knowing full well that it will lead to yet more anguish is beyond me. Your lack of compassion and common sense in choosing to put this image of their maimed and stricken child on the front page of multiple American newspapers is appalling. The issue here is not law, policy or constitutional right – but judgment and common decency.”

The problem being that AP believes only in pushing their politics and playing games; judgement and common decency don't count to these bastards. They think we don't have any idea of the 'grimness of war and the sacrifice of the troops'? Bull-fucking-shit; that's an excuse for crapping on the troops and their families, and AP can kiss my ass.

You want to know what Obama & a lot of Democrats seem to think of Honduras

and the rest of Central & South America?
REP. BILL DELAHUNT: Well, Margaret, I find it somewhat amusing that many of my colleagues on the Republican side must have gone to law school in — in Honduras, because it would appear that they’re constitutional scholars.
But let me be very clear. The — the request or the initiative by Zelaya was not to extend his term. The question that was going to be on the ballot was a nonbinding referendum for the people of Honduras to decide simply this question: Should there be a constituent assembly?
That was it, pure and simple. I think we have to understand the context of Honduran politics. It’s been a country that has been ruled by an economic elite. And, with all due respect to the elections that have been held down there, that economic elite exercises disproportionate influence in that democracy.
In the past — and I dare say at times now — it would be fair to describe Honduras as a banana republic.

REP. ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN: Oh, my gosh.

REP. BILL DELAHUNT: We can’t go backward.

REP. ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN: What an insult. What an insult. That is…

REP. BILL DELAHUNT: We — well, you can…

REP. ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN: Shame on you, Bill.

REP. BILL DELAHUNT: Ileana, let me — please, don’t say that.

REP. ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN: A banana republic, that’s just great. What an insult to the Honduran people.

REP. BILL DELAHUNT: Well, you don’t think that — well, let me — let me ask you this, OK? You would not, in the past, describe Honduras and other Central American and Latin American countries as banana republics?

REP. ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN: No, absolutely not. And I think that’s an insult to the people of Honduras.

REP. BILL DELAHUNT: Then I dare say that you don’t — you’re not that familiar with Latin America
.
Isn't that just wonderful? Maybe that's why Obama was so quick to 'interfere' in Honduras when he wouldn't touch Iran; who cares about messing with a lousy little banana republic down there? Response:
REP. ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN: Well, I think that this is about the rule of law.

I don’t think that this is about economic distribution of wealth, whether it’s a large country or a small country, whether it’s a poor country or a rich country. This is a country that — that said very clearly, the president has violated the constitution. You don’t have to be a constitutional scholar or a graduate of a Honduran law school to know that the article of the constitution is quite clear.

You can call it a poll. You can call it a survey. You can call it a referendum. You can call it anything you want. But it was a violation of the Honduran constitution. And I’m not the one that says that. The supreme court, by a 15-0 unanimous decision, said this president is violating the law.

Now, what are the people of Honduras supposed to do…

Telling Obama and a lot of Democrats to kiss their ass is a good start.

While speaking of the whining and crying and "How dare you

actually quote my words and tell people what I did?!?" from Van Jones and the Obama Buttmonkeys, Cold Fury takes note of some of the connections between these people:
Van Jones was hand picked by Valerie Jarrett. Ms. Jarrett’s father was an ardent commie who probably knew Obama’s father figure, sex rebel Frank Marshall Davis. Ms. Jarrett was instrumental in getting Michelle Obama the U of Chicago hospitals PR position that paid her so well for diverting the financially undesirable to neighborhood clinics. Michelle’s dad was a Chicago ward boss. That Jones joins Rezko, Ayers and Wright under the bus is no accident. That Obama puts the screws on Honduras and sucks up to Cuba and Venezuela are no accidents. That the FBI is responsible for doing background checks, and Obama wants to give them sovereignty over the CIA is no accident. That Teddy Kennedy tried to cut a separate deal with the odious Yuri Andropov and then backed Obama is not really an accident.
There's not a chance in hell Obama didn't know about Jones' connections; he probably considered them qualifications.

More on why so many don't trust the major media anymore,

as of Sept. 4, Riehl found

From a Nexis search a few moments ago:

Total words about the Van Jones controversy in the New York Times: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy in the Washington Post: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on NBC Nightly News: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on ABC World News: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on CBS Evening News: 0.

Combine that with the outrageous decision by the AP to publish the dying picture of Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard, and a picture of the irresponsible and unworthy media we're stuck with today begins to emerge as clearly as it ever has. And they wonder why they're going broke. What a disgrace they quite truly have become.

The communist truther Green Jobs Czar is gone,

leaving this morning with a whiny letter statement including
On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
In current political-speak that means people actually quoted what he said("I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the [Rodney King] verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."), they actually had the nerve to bring up what he did(supporting and cutting a record with a cop killer, signing onto a 9/11 Truther petition, lying about how long he was 'associated' with The War Times, calling the US the 'real terrorists'); that's considered racist and intolerable when the one you're quoting is a democrat/progressive and especially so when they're a member of some minority group.

The excuses are nicely covered here: ...has opened him to accusations that he associated with Communists(he DID associate with them, and said he was one), ...in 2004 he allowed his name to be put on a letter requesting an investigation into whether the Bush administration allowed 9/11 to happen as a “pre-text to war.”(allowed?!? HE SIGNED THE PETITION, dumbass!), and so forth; he's just being 'slimed by slight associations', etc. ad bullshit. With accusations of racism thrown at anyone who dares to quote him/show his history/do anything to bring up that he's a truther/America-hating/racist commie.

The Politico article has a line about 'conservative Republicans on a czar hunt', which is one of the standard "It's only those reactionary Republicans who don't want Obama to succeed doing this" accusations; I guarantee you, lots of Democrat Reps and Senators in conservative districts, and districts that might not be considered 'conservative' but have real problems with clowns like this 'advising' the President, have been getting calls and letters from voters saying "What the hell is this guy doing in the White House? And how bad are some of the others? And what are you going to do?"

One down...

So Van Jones wants to excuse his Truther past

by claiming he's too stupid to read- or understand, one- what he was signing. To quote Dennis,
Somebody put a petition in front of Van Jones accusing the President of the United States of being complicit in a terrorist act that murders of 3,000 innocent people and he was too fucking stupid to understand what it meant?

Fine. Just fire the dumb motherfucker, Mr. President. He obviously doesn't have the brains to be running anything other than a parking lot.

Remember:
These are the smart ones...

Which, unfortunately, doesn't explain this 'very brief time. Or cutting a record with this vermin who murdered a cop.

And, of course, the NAACP proves what a tool of the left it is by saying that pointing out Van Jones' own radical statements and support for communism is being "disingenuous" and "distracting."

Wonderful people the NAACP supports, wonderful who the White House has as a 'green jobs czar'.

Speaking of which, I got stuck in a lane today behind some moron in a Prius who not only seemed unable to drive the speed limit but had a sticker on the back that said "God is green". Friggin' moron.

If you haven't heard about AP's latest piece of garbage,

first go here; then to the latest here in which the hyenas at Puffington Host think Ap is just friggin' wonderful.

AP: Always happy to cheer up the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

The list of people who need a serious kick in the balls just keeps getting longer.

Admissions from the Brits come out,

a little at a time.
LONDON — Trade and oil considerations played a big part in the decision to include the Lockerbie bomber in a prisoner transfer agreement between Britain and Libya, a senior British official said in an interview published Saturday.

Justice Secretary Jack Straw said trade, particularly a deal for oil company BP PLC, was "a very big part" of the 2007 negotiations that led to the prisoner deal. The agreement was part of a wider warming of relations between London and Tripoli
.
This is after
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Gordon Brown insisted there was "no conspiracy, no cover up, no double dealing, no deal on oil" over the bomber's release.
Miserable, lying two-faced little socialist bastards.
With the very best of reasons, of course:
But officials admit the prisoner transfer agreement was part of a wider set of negotiations aimed at bringing Libya in from the international cold(awww, isn't that so progressive of them?), and improving British trade prospects with the oil-rich nation.(the truth, or some of it, outs)

Documents released by the government show Straw had originally tried to ensure that al-Megrahi was exempted from any prisoner deal with Libya, but in December 2007 he changed his mind. He wrote in a letter to his Scottish counterpart that "wider negotiations with the Libyans are reaching a critical stage" and a blanket agreement was in "the overwhelming interests for the United Kingdom."

I repeat, miserable little etc.

Pay very close attention to this last bit:
Straw said Brown had not been involved in negotiations over the prisoner agreement.

"I certainly didn't talk to the PM," he was quoted as saying. "There is no paper trail to suggest he was involved at all."
Translation: "You can't prove a thing! You can't prove he was in on it!"

Nice lawyerly piece of bullshit, isn't it? I repeat: screw the British government, and every moron over there who put these people in office.

These idiots have caused the word 'racism*" to have no meaning

with stupid and/or bigoted garbage like this:
A liberal blog is reacting angrily to news that schools in Manchester, Somersworth and Rollinsford have decided not to participate in President Barack Obama’s speech to every student in America.

Bluehampshire.com, a small but influential blog with ties to the state Democratic party, says the schools are not participating because the president is black.

Several state Democratic lawmakers contribute to Bluehampshire.com and Democratic State Chairman Ray Buckley, who called tea partiers “an unhinged mob,” is a regular writer on the site. In fact, Buckley posted his own angry reaction to the schools’ decision just prior to the story suggesting opposition to President Obama is based on race:

That seems to be the Democrat and 'progressive' response to any criticism of The Obama- and any of this staff- anymore, "You only say that because YOU'RE A RACIST!!" Which word, over the last decade or so, has lost much of the upset it used to cause precisely due to every crooked politician, bigoted preacher and RWPP out there answering getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar with "They're only after me because I'm black!"** I'm waiting for Rep. Charles Rangel(Corrupt Beyond Knowledge-NY) to claim people are only paying attention to his tax dodges and 'forgetting' fortunes because they hate people of dark skin.

And so many of these morons seeing racism! around every corner have succeeded; many are wealthy. To borrow two paragraphs,
Think about this. Van Jones is a Yale Law School graduate (just like Glenn Reynolds) who according to a 2005 interview, had already landed a D.C. job after graduation but instead decided to move to the San Francisco area to become involved in a radical protest movement. He subsequently received a Rockfeller Foundation fellowship and, eventually, landed a "czar" job at the White House.

And yet, somehow, despite all his success, this Ivy League-educated Fortunate Son sees nothing but misery and oppression everywhere. Am I the only one who finds this bizarre?

*McCain reminds us that for full formality there are five a's in raaaaacism!
**Most of the slimeballs who pull this seem to be black; it can also be found in use by people of other colors, and various religions. Which makes no sense because your religion isn't a race, but they like it anyway.

By the way, did you ever notice this

on the sidebar at Sipsey Street under the contact information?
Please note that death threats via telephone on a line under federal court-ordered wiretap are perfectly fine with me and quite entertaining, but rather stupid.

If this is truly what it says,

BATFE has a whole lot of ticked-off agents who've had it:
www.CleanUpATF.org is a non-profit organization dedicated to returning integrity, accountability and decency to the management of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE or "ATF").

In recent years, ATF management has become widely and officially known for corruption, self-service, and at times, overt incompetence. Moreover, ATF managers at all levels routinely retaliate or discriminate against employees who make good faith attempts to address significant cases of flagrant abuse, unlawful acts, waste of taxpayer resources, etc. Managers often use the threat or actual imposition of unfounded disciplinary actions, Internal Affairs “investigations”, punitive transfers, and other flagrantly unethical measures to suppress dissension and subvert legitimate complaints about serious abuses.

In the last two years alone, there have been nearly 400 employee complaints. In an organization with only about 5,000 employees, that is a huge drain on resources and adversely impacts the agency's ability to pursue its purported mission of locking up bad guys. Many experienced and skilled field agents spend so much time just trying to cover their rear ends against trivial, bureaucratic internal policies and arbitrary management actions, that they have little time to actually enforce the nation's firearms and other laws
.

Take a look, see what you think. The gentleman at Sipsey Street says
...Why would we want to support somebody who just wants to make an unconstitutional agency more fair and efficient?"

Well, I'll tell you why. The fact of the matter is that WE, all by ourselves, are not ever going to get oversight hearings into ATF misconduct in cases like David Olofson's or Doug Friesen's. Not on our own, not by ourselves. It ain't happening.

And, I will concede that it may well be too late for any hearings to have a material effect on events. However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

And these guys are in a perfect spot to shine a light on the cockroaches who run ATF -- the SES, Senior Executive Service. "Waco Jim"? SES. Little Jimmy Vann (alleged named by an ATF secretary because of the size of his member) of the agency's national counsel's office? SES
.
and suggests If you have a congressman or congresswoman who is on any oversight committee, whether they are Republican or Democrat, forward these damning allegations by field agents against the SES crooks to the congresscritters with the demand that they look into these charges. Don't editorialize. Don't criticize the agency's mission. Keep it short and simple. You want the taxpayer's dollars protected and spent wisely. You want these agents' complaints looked into.

I'd heard of the agent who managed to be accepted into Hell's Angels and was pretty much screwed over by BATF afterward; some of this stuff is both new to me and friggin' disgusting. If there's going to be a BATFE, it needs to be run as a proper LE agency, by all the rules; and that includes not screwing your own people because (fill in the current excuse). There are good agents in that agency, who really do care about the law, and justice, and won't screw people over just for a good mark on their record(though why many of them are still in that place, from the sound of it, I don't know), and they deserve better than the bosses they appear to have.

"One more time for the slow and stupid, i.e. the media –

this is about a president presuming to speak directly to our children without our permission. It’s not so much about the message, it’s the presumption. To me that’s a presumption which he has no right to make.
...
As this was originally planned, although it appears some school districts are now going to provide an alternate activity for those who object, this was to be a captive audience forced to watch the message. Many parents, not just conservative parents, understand the ability for something like this to be abused. Again, it’s not so much about the message as it is about the precedent.

Lastly, many of the objections haven’t been focused on the speech but the fact that this is an organized event with a lesson plan that, until the outcry, had some portions where were obviously political. And that’s the opinion of more than just conservatives (the White House dropped some of those more obvious portions from the lesson plan).

So to boil it down so even the media can figure it out – it isn’t just conservatives objecting to this. More importantly, it’s about the 3 “p’s” – presumption, precedent and politics
.

Union reps, shotgun, rock salt::

Some assembly required.
To appease SEIU over the closure of Howe, Gov. Quinn signed an executive order that allows SEIU to approach and attempt to organize people who live in their own homes and take care of family members. If they vote no, but the union drive is successful, these family members will be forced to pay the union dues anyway, taking away from the funds they desperately need to help pay for their loved ones’ care.

So Van Jones advises Obama, is a 9/11 truther AND

defends the man who murdered a police officer.
Jarrett’s praise for Jones’s Oakland activism is explicit endorsement of his race-baiting career at Ella Baker, funded by the Soros-supported Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights/Ford Foundation/Rockefeller Foundation, and his Free Mumia agitation in the Bay Area schools — where he lambasted moderate civil rights leaders for objecting to politicizing the classrooms and where his pro-Mumia allies likened supporters of murdered police officer Daniel Faulkner to the KKK.

Friend of a friend a few days back said of Obama "He's only been in a few months, we need to give him some time." When he's surrounding himself with scum like this on top of his other actions, I think he's had too much time already.

Unions: beat up a black protester,

and you can ask for workman's comp to take care of your 'injuries'.
You may recognize Elston McGowan. He is the Public Service Director of SEIU Local 2000 and a local Baptist minister.

He is also one of the SEIU thugs who beat Kenneth Gladney after the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting in St. Louis last month. McGowan said Gladney, who is half his size, actually attacked him. He claims he was the victim even those he was hauled to jail for the attack.

** 24th State is reporting tonight that Elston McGowan is asking the SEIU for workman's comp for the injury he suffered at the Carnahan rally while beating Ken Gladney's a$$.

Yes, I do whack on unions at times; when they stop playing political games as Democrat Party operatives and worry about honest job safety and fair pay matters, I'll stop.

Damn, that Van Jones guy has some real background,

doesn't he?

And he'll be really happy(along with Bill Ayers & Co.) to see the PRC flag flying at the White House.

Yeah, let's celebrate the most murderous communist regime in history.

Turn your hat around,

you moron.

Yeah, the House is really gonna come down hard on Rep. Rangel

if he ever runs out of money.
CBS 2 HD has discovered that since ethics probes began last year the 79-year-old congressman has given campaign donations to 119 members of Congress, including three of the five Democrats on the House Ethics Committee who are charged with investigating him.

Charlie’s “angels” on the committee include Congressmen Ben Chandler of Kentucky, G.K. Butterfield of North Carolina and Peter Welch of Vermont. All have received donations from Rangel.

Only Welch had the brains to realize how bad this looks. He returned Rangel’s money — almost twenty thousand dollars.

Rep. Baron Hill(Arrogant Dumbass-IN) gets himself on Youtube

in a far worse way due to his own arrogance:
Student: Why can't I film this, isn't this my right?

Baron Hill: This is my town hall meeting, and I set the rules, and I've had these rules . . . (jeering) Let me repeat that one more time. This is my town hall meeting for you. And you're not going to tell me how to run my Congressional office. Now, the reason why I don't allow filming is that usually the films that are done end up on YouTube in a compromising position
.
Uh, it's supposed to be a meeting for the people who vote on your job- y'know, your bosses?- talk to you, not a favor you grant the subjects. And it's not YOUR office, jackass, they just hire you to run it. And if this is the way you think of and treat them, you shouldn't be in it for much longer.

And if you don't want to wind up on YouTube in a 'compromising position', try not acting like an arrogant jackass politician; it'll make a world of difference.

So the lefty "WE HATE GLENN BECK!" crowd is down to

making up false rape/murder crap about him. Considering what they've done here, I hope he's talking to a lawyer about ripping them a new one; if you disagree with someone argue on what you disagree with, making up garbage like this... these people suck on a major level.

Further "Global warming my ass"

Last while it's been below average norms for this time of year; today by about 12 degrees, I believe the weather weenie said. And more rain; instead of brown and dry, it's green outside. For last half of August/first of September, it's nice.

Range sometime next week, I hope; got some loads to test, and I need to make sure my rifle's sighted in in case I have the chance to go be terminally rude to Bambi.

Spent the day helping friend gunsmith with some things, and talking to/playing with the family. Wife's a nurse, who's been having a string of "I want a new job. NOW." days; kids are 11 and 3. 11YOA is a boy, who's actually decided school has some redeeming qualities, 3YOA is a girl who's decided I do; at least she doesn't spend the first 45 minutes after seeing me going through the shy routine anymore.

The other day it was announced that a child molester who'd gotten a ridiculously light sentence and is about to get out is having more charges filed; seems he'd molested a couple of other kids, too. When I remember my kids when they were little, when I look at friend's kids now, I come back to the thought "Let him out; justice will be taken care of"; due process for someone who molests a child should include a rope. At the least, a post and whip.

Ever notice how all the little crap lines up so that if you don't watch it, they eat all your time?

I would say this gentleman is upset

with the restaurant that used to get his money on a regular basis.

Screw with a customer for BS reasons, then refuse to even talk to him... not good business decisions, folks.

So AK rifles are turning up so often

the Kenner PD and AP couldn't find one for the "THEY'RE GOING TO KILL YOU!!" picture and story...

And it's a suburb of New Orleans; why am I not surprised?

As to the Obama Youth first step,

Michelle Malkin had some background on the speech and the people who put the mess together
Obama’s White House Teaching Fellows include Chicago high school educator Xian Barrett, a fierce opponent of charter schools who founded a “Social Justice Club” and bussed students to protests and Michelle Bissonette, a Los Altos, Calif., teacher who is “focused on developing my leadership as a more culturally and racially conscious educator.”
and some of the concerns. The yelling has been enough that they changed the 'preparatory materials' that had been sent out; I'm not sure if they're
So tone-deaf they didn't realize what that line said,
so pushy they didn't care,
hoped it would sneak through, or they could ridicule anyone protesting and shove it through.
Personally, I lean toward the last. If I still had small kids, I'd have been saying about the same thing Vodkapundit said:
The President of the United States — whether an Obama a Bush or a Lincoln — is not my son’s daddy. That’s my job. We’ve had enough nannystatism, and enough daddystatism, too.

The other thing I object to is a big portion (an entire portion?) of a school day being devoted to the President and His Works and Admonishments, for no reason other than he seems to think it should be. There’s no national emergency, this isn’t an inauguration or a joint address to Congress. It’s the President deciding, for reasons entirely his own, to take over the public school system for twenty minutes or an hour or a day.

And, yes, I object to that
.
My kids are grown, and I object like hell to it for the sake of other people's kids.

Obama is cutting Medicare to heart & cancer specialists,

working on starting the Obama Youth and filling the White House with communists and fascists, in Britain(we're supposed to copy them, remember?) people with terminal illnesses are being made to 'die prematurely', the NEA is lying about inviting those artists to the 'Praise Obama Conference Call'(not surprising; hookers often lie*) and right now I'm sick of all of it.

I need a drink.

*from the Notebooks of Lazarus Long: "A tax-supported artist is a government whore."

The weenies here call blowing smoke in a terrorists face torture...

Asked if a confession obtained "by applying psychological, emotional and physical pressure" was "valid and considered credible according to Islam," Mesbah-Yazdi replied: "Getting a confession from any person who is against the Velayat-e Faqih ("Guardianship of the Islamic Jurists", or the regime of Iran's mullahs) is permissible under any condition." The ayatollah gave the identical answer when asked about confessions obtained through drugging the prisoner with opiates or addictive substances.

"Can an interrogator rape the prisoner in order to obtain a confession?" was the follow-up question posed to the Islamic cleric.

Mesbah-Yazdi answered: "The necessary precaution is for the interrogator to perform a ritual washing first and say prayers while raping the prisoner. If the prisoner is female, it is permissible to rape through the vagina or anus. It is better not to have a witness present. If it is a male prisoner, then it's acceptable for someone else to watch while the rape is committed."

This reply, and reports of the rape of teen male prisoners in Iranian jails, may have prompted the following question: "Is the rape of men and young boys considered sodomy?"

Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi: "No, because it is not consensual. Of course, if the prisoner is aroused and enjoys the rape, then caution must be taken not to repeat the rape."
THIS is torture, you miserable bastards; being directed by and justified by Ahmadogcrap's spiritual advisor. You know, the President of Iran? The election Obama didn't want to 'interfere' in, so he could better talk to the mullahs?

He'll bravely screw over Honduras, but say harsh words to Iran? Too upsetting to the muslim world.

Well, dayum, isn't this just peachy?

In a symbolic vote at the Scottish Parliament, MSPs ruled that Kenny MacAskill, the SNP justice minister, mishandled Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi's request to return to Libya.
Yeah, since he's being partied all over Libya, it really is a symbolic vote, isn't it?
But Alex Salmond seized on Gordon Brown's admission that he "respects" the decision to free the bomber, claiming that this put the Prime Minister at odds with Labour at Holyrood.
And this is an excuse why? And how? You moron.
The Scottish First Minister attacked Labour's "totally ridiculous position" after David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, also confirmed he did not want Megrahi to die in prison.
Oh, so sensitive he is!
Mr MacAskill rejected an application for Megrahi to be allowed to leave Scotland under a prisoner transfer deal agreed by the UK and Libya, but released him on compassionate grounds.
Translation: "I can't do it as a prisoner transfer, but I'll set it up as a 'compassionate release', that'll take care of it!"
Speaking after the vote, Iain Gray, Labour's Holyrood leader, said: "Tonight the Scottish Parliament has made clear its opposition to both the decision to release Megrahi to Libya and the woeful handling of the decision and announcement."
Golly gee, that's wonderful! Maybe next time you can vote on it BEFORE YOU TURN THE MASS-MURDERER LOOSE, you boob.

There's lots more locking of the barn door after the camel has gone, then we get to this:
Annabel Goldie, the Scottish Tory leader, accused Mr Salmond and Mr Brown of indulging in "nudge-and-wink diplomacy" over Megrahi's fate.

"I can only conclude Mr MacAskill had actually set his mind on releasing Mr Megrahi back to Libya," she said.

Richard Baker, Scottish Labour's justice spokesman, insisted the decision to free the bomber was "chaotic", "badly mishandled" and "reflected badly on Scotland"
.
Ya THINK, Sparky?
But, in his closing speech, Mr Salmond quoted Gordon Brown, who told the BBC on Wednesday: "I respect the right of Scottish ministers to make the decision and the decision."

The First Minister later told the Daily Telegraph the real scandal was the "double standards between the Labour Party in Scotland and the Labour Party in London."

He claimed it was "impossible" for Scottish Labour to attack Mr MacAskill, without also criticising the Prime Minister
.
Well damn, we can't have you suffering the slings and arrows of criticizing the jackass MacAskill and the PM, now can we? You're either such a partisan asshole you should stop breathing, or- well, that actually covers it, doesn't it?

Over at BBC News, I found this:
In a further development, a lawyer who represents the families of Lockerbie victims in the US is planning legal action to force the US government to publish details of its correspondence with London and Edinburgh in the run-up to Megrahi's release.
...
The debate came a day after the Scottish Government released a list of documents on the case, which revealed that Foreign Office minister Bill Rammell had told the Libyans the prime minister and foreign secretary did not want the Lockerbie bomber to die in a Scottish prison.
And why the hell not? That's what the SENTANCE was, wasn't it? 'Life in prison'?

I'm going to miss their whiskey, but damned if I want to put money in their pockets after this crap.

Oh, just to add to the fun,
Now we know that the Obama Administration knew about the release of Abdul Baset Ali al-Megrahi months before he was freed. The Boston Globe reported that there were discussions between Attorney General Eric Holder and his Scottish counterpart back in June.
And
UPDATE: The White House blocked the release of Lockerbie documents this week.
FOX News reported:

The Scottish government told FOX News Tuesday that the U.S. government refuses to allow them to release details of any communication between Scotland and the U.S. over al-Megrahi's release.

A source with the Scottish government, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the demand was made in a letter sent Tuesday from U.S. Embassy Chief of Mission Richard LeBaron.
Not surprising to me; I bet the President & staff suffered a pucker-power moment when the 'release all documents' announcement came. Now I wonder(yeah, right) if the major media will report on this.

Several things to point to

An interesting thought:
Today's "liberal" is a product of Sixties leftism. Such a person's psychology is always outward: other people must be changed. As a conservative, my focus is inward: I understand that the highest expression I can give the Golden Rule is by strengthening my character. How many "liberals" do you know who are comfortable with the words honor, character, integrity, innocence, modesty? You know they despise those words. What you need to do is ask yourself why do they despise those words? When you know the answer to that question you'll have insight into the mental illness they suffer.

Will the Obama Administration implode in the near future?
Never has an administration had more political firepower at their disposal yet been set to so totally fail in the next six to eight weeks. It is nearly a foregone conclusion. It is nearly unavoidable. And it defies all logic given the sizable majority the administration has in both houses of Congress.

Since I was the first pundit to predict Obama's presidency (back in December 2006) it behooves me to tell you the course I believe the next few weeks will take. Just think, it was only a few months ago that the left looked unstoppable in bringing about their plan to radicalize, nationalize, and federalize America
.

Things learned in the Obama era
4) The Good Life. Obama vacations in Martha’s Vineyard, Bush in Crawford Texas. Nancy Pelosi wants twice the private jet that the prior Denny Hassert enjoyed. Edwards’s two nations really mean his mansion and those down the road. The really tony environmentalist pundits and activists think slapping on some solar panels on a five-car garage, or putting up a windmill out in front of the gazebo, is an “offset.”

I used to think that the elite left’s obsession with the good life was an amusing act of hypocrisy (gone are the Democrat’s Harry Trumans), but lately it seems far more interesting and complicated. It is almost a personality quirk: the more one desires to have private jets, influential friends, the status that comes with the right location, right schools, and the right job, the more likely one is to mouth the “correct” ideology. Elite liberalism, as we see with the Obamas and their cohorts (and with the Clinton clique as well), is no contradiction. If anything, privilege is the proper compensation for being “good” and “right” on things

.

Does it surprise me the current 'health care' bill screws vets?

No, it doesn't.
"...the House bill as it stands today still would not, repeat, would not exempt veterans who receive VA healthcare from the punitive 2.5 percent tax that the bill would impose for failure to have “acceptable coverage.

...The current House bill would also create a disincentive to hiring members of the National Guard and Reserve by levying an eight percent payroll tax penalty against employers that do not provide continuous health coverage to its employees. Continuous coverage for National Guard and Reserve members is not always necessary because they frequently transition to and from active duty where they have access to TRICARE."-- Steve Buyer, House Veterans Affairs Committee

Right along with Pres. Obama trying to hijack 9/11

he's making a start on his Obama Youth Program:
In an unprecented move, President Obama will address the nation's youth at their institutions of indoctrination.
The White House even released a list of questions for the youth members to discuss before, during and after Dear Leader's blessed address, such as:

• Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?

During the Speech:

• As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful. Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate.

I wonder if if they'll give out a phone number or web address where kids can report their parents for unrespectful to the Dear Leader statements?

And yes, Obama knew about the Lockerbie Bombers release; a long time ago

and now,
The Scottish government told FOX News Tuesday that the U.S. government refuses to allow them to release details of any communication between Scotland and the U.S. over al-Megrahi's release.

A source with the Scottish government, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the demand was made in a letter sent Tuesday from U.S. Embassy Chief of Mission Richard LeBaron
.
The Obama Administration: kissing up to socialists, dictators and muslim terrorists worldwide.
Now we know that the Obama Administration knew about the release of Abdul Baset Ali al-Megrahi months before he was freed. The Boston Globe reported that there were discussions between Attorney General Eric Holder and his Scottish counterpart back in June.

So, assuming Pres. B. Hussein Cartman Obama was speaking the truth about being 'bothered' by the welcome given to the mass-murderer, he was troubled because it looked bad instead of, say, because it was wrong.

Ambassador Hugo Llorens: Tool

In a shocking move the US government, for the first time in history, has sided with Marxist leaders Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, Raul Castro, Evo Morales against the pro-democratic Micheletti.
Birds of a feather
...
Our President, Jimmy Carter II; he's never met a communist dictator he didn't like.

And note just who Ambassador Llorens gave this interview to:
In this interview Ambassador Llorens talks with a representative from Global Exchange.

FYI: Global Exchange is a Socialist Organization founded by Medea Benjamin, the Marxist leader of Code Pink.

Well, it started not long after 9/11, when networks refused

to show a lot of the stills and video of people falling/jumping from the Towers because 'it would be too disturbing'; now we've got the President & Co. trying to hijack the day entirely. Because it's a crisis they want to make use of in their own special way.
...The effort last year to make 9/11 "A Day of Service" was the first time it actually struck me as truly likely that the anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on American soil was soon to be whitewashed.

The "Day of Service" is not offensive in and of itself. This was not actually conceived by Obama. A non-profit organization called My Good Deed began organizing 9/11 as a day of national service and remembrance back in 2001. In April of this year, Obama signed legislation to formally recognize it at such.

Where this all gets dicey is detailed in this report by The Foundry. The Organizing for America site has now scrubbed the post which outlined the actions suggested for 9/11. In short, they are hijacking the day as one to lobby for Obamacare. They "sent out a notice to its 'grassroots' supporters. It asked them to wage a coordinated phone campaign for health care by calling their U.S. Senators on September 11 – also known as Patriot Day in honor of the thousands of Americans killed by Al Qaeda terrorists eight years ago...". The Foundry has the screenshot of the post in question which has now been taken down
.

Part of Obama's continual campaign, with most of the media either unwilling or scared to criticize him and his apostles for anything.
As if turning 9/11 into a Day to Lobby for Health Care isn't enough, there's more. As The Foundry points out, their rhetoric is simply incredible. The Organizing for America post says, “All 50 States are coordinating in this – as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic Process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders.”
This is the kind of language we hear from Chavez, from Castro, from leftist dictators and wannabes; as much as trying to change 9/11 to suit their purposes is vile, this language is equally so; that it's on a site that the White House has say over is disgusting.

And it's what we can expect more of from Obama.

Hopefully the last thing I'll write about Swimmer

Boston was boiling, and it was Ted Kennedy who had turned up the heat. It was Kennedyism writ large (the plan was the sort of hamfisted -- and, naturally, doomed -- federal interference in local problems that Kennedy had made his life's work) and small: The judge in question, Arthur Garrity, who effectively took over Boston schools for 11 years, was a Kennedy family retainer who had worked on John Kennedy's Senate and presidential campaigns.
...
The protesters were not just Kennedy's constituency; they were the dead center of it, working-class Irish Catholics who "helped build the Kennedy dynasty . . . Many continued to hang Jack's picture in their living rooms," wrote Peter Canellos in his bio, "Last Lion: The Fall and Rise of Ted Kennedy." The crowd jeered Kennedy for about five minutes, then many turned their backs and began singing, "God Bless America." That was too much for Ted. Without speaking, he walked away.

His decision to flee infuriated the crowd further. He was pelted with tomatoes as "he took refuge in the federal building named after his brother," Micklethwait and Woolridge dryly note.

The symbolism was perfect. Here was a man who said he spoke for the people proving himself literally unable to speak to the people. Here was a man who argued that government was the citizens' shelter, using a government building as a fortress against the hoi polloi. That he literally took cover under his brother's name was the topper
.

Pointed to by Five Feet of Fury

And, just to remind us while MA politicians are playing Swimmer's game of changing the rules to suit them,
...Before he died last week, Kennedy had asked Massachusetts lawmakers to change state law to let the governor name an interim appointee to serve until voters can choose a permanent replacement. Current Massachusetts law does not allow an interim appointee…
..."This is the only way to ensure that Massachusetts is fully represented,"…
...Patrick said he agreed with Kennedy that the state needs two voices in the Senate during the intervening five months....

Edward Kennedy has missed 261 votes (96.7%) during the current Congress.

Beslan

Remember, the enemy we're not supposed to call 'terrorists' consider 'man-caused disasters' like this a triumph.

But President Obama & Co. say we can't call them terrorists...

If you've got family in or considering Duke University,

especially if they're male, you ought to look at this:
"In her interview with the Chronicle, Gregory conceded that even Duke administrators—who, as we all have come to know, are not terribly sensitive to the possibilities of fraudulent rape claims—expressed fears that the new policy (coupled, of course, with a judicial process whose procedures overwhelmingly favor the accuser) would result in an increased filing of false claims of sexual misconduct.

Gregory had no such concerns: “We’re creating an environment that says, ‘This is not tolerated in our community,’ and when you create that environment, victims are more likely to come forward and seek help.” How creating an environment that says sexual assault isn’t tolerated (as if any elite university currently has a campus environment that “tolerates” sexual assault) guards against the filing of false sexual assault claims Gregory didn’t say."

That's just a small part of this; and this is why I have categories 'Dumbass feminism' and 'PC at any cost'.

Ah, the wonderful people President B. Hussein Cartman Obama

hung- and hangs- around with.
The Sunday after the 9-11 attacks on America Barack Obama's Jew-hating pastor and mentor Jeremiah Wright blamed the United States for the terrorist attacks that killed 3,000 innocent men, women and children in his famous "Chickens Come Home to Roost" sermon at Trinity United Church in Chicago:
...
Obama's Green czar Van Jones also blamed American imperialism for the 9-11 attacks.
World Net Daily reported, via FOX Nation:

One day after the 9/11 attacks, President Obama's "green jobs czar" led a vigil that expressed solidarity with Arab and Muslim Americans as well as what he called the victims of "U.S. imperialism" around the world.

WND previously reported Van Jones, special adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innovation to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, is an admitted black nationalist and radical communist.]
...
The radical group's manual boasted the 9/11 vigil was held to express solidarity with Arab and Muslim Americans and to mourn the civilians killed in the terrorist attacks "as well as the victims of U.S. imperialism around the world."

Bad Cop behavior as a selling point::

VERY bad idea.

Yeah, this is just great, isn't it?
