Ah, the joys of late summer

This morning there was a 20%(30% depending on who you listened to) chance of showers & storms tonight. Now we have this:

The purple is severe thunderstorm watch, the green is flash-flood watch. They're now saying(again, depends on who/when you hear it) a 50 or 70% chance of storms tonight and 20-50% chance tomorrow.

In either case, I think I'll make sure all the 'don't let it get rained on' stuff is put away, and I'll hold off on watering the garden.

Yup. It rained all right. It moved up from you and drowned Western Missouri with a real frog strangler today.

Some of it moved on, the rest is moving through still; it's just shy of 9am and still raining lightly outside.

Dick, I've got friends down there, they wish I could to. Some of this has been a bit heavy, but things are really green, nice change from usual mid-August.
