My, there's a lot of crap out there today

I took a couple of rifles to the range to try the .303 and 7.62x54 cast bullet out further, I'll have a report on that later. Right now, with the bores wiped with cleaner and sitting, I'm browsing around.

Balko has two things. One is a sting run on a police department:
The trap was set and less than 24 hours later, the Odessa narcotics unit raided the house only to find KopBuster’s attorney waiting under a system of complex gadgetry and spy cameras that streamed online to the KopBuster’s secret mobile office nearby.
That has the potential to get real interesting. And, quite frankly, I wouldn't mind seeing such things done in a lot of places. Especially with crap like that noted in his other piece:
Lima police apparently aren’t as concerned. When told of the Lima News investigation, police spokesman Kevin Martin said, “That means 68 percent of the time, we’re getting guns or drugs off the street. We’re not looking at it as a win-loss record like a football team does.”
When a department has that kind of attitude toward no-knock SWAT raids, that means that department has a serious, first-class problem. The kind that gets people killed and causes the citizens to think of the cops a more of an occupying force than a law enforcement organization. These clowns, and a lot more, need to be reined in. Right now.

Various liberals are upset that The Obama isn't loading his cabinet with commie-level progressives. Including this prime piece of idiocy:
“There don't seem to be any liberals in Obama's cabinet,” writes John Aravosis, the editor of Americablog.com. “What does all of this mean for Obama's policies, and just as important, Obama Supreme Court announcements?”
There are, among others Hillary Clinton and Tom Daschle in that cabinet, and they're 'not liberals'? You do tend to wonder what these people are smoking.

Awww, the poor little NYEffin'T writer is mad because a mere plumber has dared to write a book:
The unlicensed pipe fitter known as Joe the Plumber is out with a book this month, just as the last seconds on his 15 minutes are slipping away. I have a question for Joe: Do you want me to fix your leaky toilet?

I didn’t think so. And I don’t want you writing books
.
Well, Mr. Egan, there's a slight problem: he doesn't care that you don't want him to write. Neither does anyone else outside your little circle of jerks. Go read what Tim Blair has in response, it's well worth it.

As my last item right now, I have to note this demonstration of insanity(or stupidity, or a combination thereof) from Andrew Sullivan. This (fill in the blank, I can't think of a proper word) is still chasing the 'Trig is not Sarah Palin's son!' idiocy around the tree. Hell, his own STAFF says he's lost it on this. At this point, I think he shouldn't be allowed outside without being on a leash; he's liable to wander into traffic.

And on that happy note, I'm going to cast some bullets.

But the good news is that the parent company of the Chicago Times and LA Times) just filed for bankruptcy.
