Oh, for God's sake,

this crap is friggin' rediculous.
The Richland County (S.C.) Sheriff's Department has acquired an armored personnel carrier complete with a turret-mounted .50-caliber belt-fed machine gun for its Special Response Team.

And it WILL be used, because they'll have to justify the cost of keeping/maintaining/fueling the damn thing. And God knows what the damage will be when they do.

Will someone they might listen to tell these people to stop playing "The infantry squad in assault" and go back to being cops?

That'll also be another argument against the .50 BMG rifle.

It can penetrate an APC's armor.
